Pam, the director, clearly cares deeply about the kids and makes every family feel welcome from day one. The teachers we've worked with have all been excellent: very professional, communicative, and organized, but they still keep things fun and playful for the kids. We came from another daycare in the area and can say with confidence that La Petite is a massive upgrade. In just a few weeks, we've seen marked improvements in our son's behavior and how he interacts with other kids. There is a strong emphasis on the classroom as a community, and it really shows--children seem to learn how to play well together, take turns, and be considerate classmates. The structure and expectations in the classroom feel age-appropriate but still set them up for success. I can very easily see our son being more than ready for kindergarten in a couple of years. They keep the kids busy in the best way -- every day our son is learning something new, with lots of hands-on activities and exploration. The app is also fantastic; we get tons of updates and photos throughout the day so we always feel connected to what he's doing. My only (very minor) gripe is the parking lot -- it's a bit small and can get chaotic during peak drop-off and pickup times. But honestly, that's a small trade-off for the level of care and education our son is getting. Overall, we're extremely happy we made the switch and highly recommend La Petite of Glen Allen to other families.

I get a report every day about his eating, sleeping, diaper changing, and various activities he's done through out the day. I call EVERY single day, and the principle Sara is super nice, and always give me a snap shot of what my son is up to. She told me I can call as many time as I like, she's super supportive and understanding. They update the app often so I can see the pictures of my son doing his little activities. Infant 1 only has 2 teachers, so there was only 8 children. They had a system, somehow whenever, I come, it was nice and quiet, and the children look BIG, clean, and content. Their curriculum is great, they'd tell us what we are working on with our son so we can also implement at home also. We're going to have more children, and I'd send them here too so we can go through we their programs. I like how there are 200 acres of wood Park right behind the school so the children would get fresh air circulating around.

He is now in pre k with even more vetted teachers one of whom had been there since 86. Ms. Tucker is extremely hands on with her curriculum and we get updates as far as activities my son participated in. She challenges him to make him better with retaining his lessons. He has made friends and I'm able to see him active and engaged each day on the playground and in class. My son has sensory setbacks, so my fear was always leaving him alone and being away. Since having him there, I don't want him ANYWHERE else. Bobbie and Sarah are amazing Directors and have both been so so accommodating. All of those ladies are like family. It's really touching to me during a time when childcare is hard to come by and undervalued at times, they always ensure my little boy is okay. Avoid Midlothian Kids Academy at all costs…read more This daycare has extremely high staff turnover and poor supervision of the children. When my son moved to the two-year-old classroom, we were told they would help with potty training -- but within a week they began complaining about accidents and even suggested we bring in Pampers. It was clear they just didn't want to do their job. I refused, and ironically, my son's potty training improved right after that. The food they serve is subpar -- my son comes home hungry every day. Classrooms are often combined because they're short-staffed, creating chaos and disorganization. When incidents happen, they rarely communicate unless you call to ask what happened. One of the most concerning experiences was when my son came home with his face visibly swollen from crying. We were told he had a hard time going to sleep at nap time -- but we picked him up at 5 p.m., which means he was left crying unattended for an extended period of time. That's completely unacceptable and heartbreaking for any parent to hear. Worst of all, the director is dismissive and gaslights parents instead of being transparent or taking accountability. If you care about your child's safety, nutrition, and emotional well-being, run far away from this place.

I wasn't looking for childcare in the Short Pump area because for us, the location has us backtracking based on where we live and work, but I decided to pop in anyway. I am so glad that I did. I grew up going to daycare and loved it, but let me tell you it has come a LONG long way since those days. I popped in to TLE unannounced and the director was still happy to give me a tour and tell me all about their center. The children were napping, so it was quite a productive tour. I got to see my son's potential classroom, meet his teacher (who was lovely and made a great impression), and I was already liking what I saw. But! Then, when she showed me the indoor play areas and gym, I was sold. I've never seen anything like this before. It is like an actual children's museum inside the daycare. They bring in tons of extracurricular activities for the children, teach them sign language and Spanish, have a great schedule with tons of room for reading and play. It checked all the boxes for me. It's pricey, but not moreso than any of the other big names in town. And, also, they have flexible options which is PERFECT for us because we don't need 5 day a week care right now. Most places don't have that option. When I toured, I felt excited and eager to be able to give my child the opportunity to attend. We are planning to enroll him to start immediately, short of any unforeseen life circumstances. Even if something came up and we didn't, I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone in the area.

It is now March 2025 and it's still bothering me and I'm still mortified by what I saw and I need to warn parents. One random weekday I decided to pick my daughter up early so we can have a girl-date. I showed up without letting the teachers or anyone know, walked in and said I was picking my child up early to the front desk. They said that's fine and I went through the door (after scanning my card). What I saw was heartbreaking. "Class" was in session for the pre-pre-k (2-3yo I think) class which I had to walk past in order to reach my daughter's class. There are windows that stretch through the hallway so you can see in the classroom. Clearly they didn't see me. I saw the kids all sitting in a strange silence except one little curly haired black/mixed boy. He was clearly having a meltdown, crying with tears streaming down his face. The teacher visibly was yelling in his ear with so much anger in her eyes. I can tell she was threatening him, something scary. She looked so angry and the little boy looked so helpless. There was another staff member there who looked at the teacher and didn't say anything. I hesitantly kept watching and slowly walking past, the teacher did not look up and at this point she forcibly grabbed him by his arms and sat him down on the chair with the rest of the kids. The boy was still visibly crying. She was still in his ears visibly angry. I grabbed my daughter, her class was sitting together while the teacher paced around their table I guess quizzing them? She didn't smile when she saw me, she didn't look friendly. (They never did honestly) I wish I never enrolled her here. I pray that they never mistreated her, but based off the other comments I'm now thinking it's very likely. My daughter was also newly turned 4, and wearing pull-ups because she was having accidents. They told me she wasn't allowed to wear pull-ups. This place needs to be shut down. I wish anyone who is in search of a daycare center and is considering this one stays far away. She wears many hats and somehow manages to handle them all with professionalism, patience, and genuine love for the children. I can truly see her passion in everything she does, from preparing balanced meals for the infants and toddlers to nurturing and caring for each child as if they were her own. The kids light up around her, and honestly, I think my daughter Rain, might love her cooking more than her parents' home-cooked meals! Lack of transparency, follow-through, and support for neurodiverse children…read more After four years with Precious Time, I was shocked by how poorly things ended. My son, who has ADHD, was dismissed suddenly and without prior warning--a decision that violated their own three-step disciplinary policy. What we experienced: Incident reports that were vague, inconsistent, and never properly shared, despite numerous formal requests Missed doses of ADHD medication with no timely communication Ongoing bullying that was brought up multiple times and never addressed A rotating door of teachers, inconsistent structure, and poor classroom management Staff who told my child he would be "sent home" if he couldn't "get it together"--which is especially damaging to a child with behavioral challenges We tried for weeks to resolve this professionally, but the lack of transparency and follow-through from leadership was extremely disappointing. Precious Time may advertise inclusion, but our experience said otherwise. If your child needs support or structure beyond the basics, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I have showed my concern multiple times. On Friday I talked to Mrs.Robins and she was being rude and a racists towards me. She was not understanding at all and the facts were over looked. No one has yet to show me how to make payments online. As I am over $600 behind. I was not billed in an advance as shown in the contract. No one took my payment to have it automatically taken out. No communicated with me about it until after a month my daughter started. I have child care subsidy and no one notified about how much I owed until after a month. I have shown my concerns to the owner and nothing is being done. So I'm just getting further behind and no one is doing nothing. Legally I have proof that the contract was breached and this can be taken to court. I am not being heard and no one wants to take accountability. I had a whole break down that caused me to step away from my job from the words that was coming from Mrs.Robin. As for the owner of Precious Time Child Development I am asking to be heard and for something to be done. Unfortunately I would have to take this to court if nothing will be done.

I had the pleasure of working here for 4 1/2 years and could honestly say that this place is pretty top notch between the curriculum and activities that they provide. This location is in Hanover County right behind SJMS and Sherwood Apartments. The Goddard school provides child care and after school programs. Summer Camp is always fun here and your kids will learn a lot. They cater to the needs of all children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The staff is always friendly and the owners Kathy and Steve DeNunzio will make you feel welcomed along with the wonderful teachers. I love that being an employee here meant being apart of such a great childcare facility and growing along with the school. The first building is for ages 6 weeks to pre-k and the back building (Kabanda) was for kindergarten as well as after school. There are two playgrounds one for the 2's and under and one for the big kids. Yes, it is on the pricey end of things, but quality is always a good thing. Id recommend checking out The Goddard School if you're interested in childcare.

When we came in from another child care program, we were welcomed right away and it immediately felt right. Our youngest went from crying everyday for a month at our previous provider, to smiles walking in the door every morning. Both our children have been given a bright start from the private kindergarten program. We also enjoyed speaking with the staff and we can't say this enough, they will be missed so much.
