My spouse and I stopped at La Pinata for lunch on a Friday around noon. I was surprised they weren't busy because our coworkers rave about the place. Maybe it was due to the weather or the fact that it's in an out of the way location. The inside is cute and clean. Lots of Mexican artwork. Their menu has lots of options, but we went with a lunch sized fajita quesadilla and the fiesta burrito. They gave us a lot of food for less than $40 - great value. The chips were thin and warm, which I really enjoyed. The salsa was not hot and had a nice hint of garlic. My burrito was served with a healthy serving of guacamole and sour cream, Mexican rice, and black beans. I loved that the beans were not overly salty and everything was well-spiced. The tortilla was thin, which I enjoyed, and was packed with peppers, onions, steak and cheese. My spouse's quesadilla was filling and well proportioned with cheese, peppers, chicken and onions. We were both so stuffed! The service was a little slow, but efficient , and the presentation was beautiful as you'll see in the photos. We will definitely be back to try more food. Today, I had the fish tacos which were excellent except the fish was actually way too salty for me. The refried beans also was cold, but Service remains outstanding. Stopped here for lunch and really wanted to love it or at least like it but no. The three stars seems very generous but the restaurant was clean and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The margarita wasn't bad either. It was the food I didn't like. I ordered enchiladas. Three meats- beef, chicken, and pork. It was served with a side of rice and beans. The food reminded me of the margaritas chain. Everything covered with cheese and sauce. The beans were hot in some spots and warm to cool in others. The rice had a crunchy texture which was just weird. Everything seemed as my husband said "like a frozen tv dinner ". It did not taste fresh at all. The meat was dry and I honestly dont know which was pork or which was beef. The chips and salsa were not terrible but the salsa was lacking. I literally had to stop and buy a sandwich on my way home because the cheese was way to much for me and I just couldn't eat it. I'll stick to our local favorite in Greenfield NH. It seems to be super popular, though, so maybe I'm just spoiled lol. read more

True gem, best michallatas i have ever had, they make their own mix and they are huge and could easily be their own meal. Service is mixed fast and slow but the team is always polite attentive and prompt. Most dishes i would easily recommend but tye steak fajitas i have got dried out steak a couple of times so I go with the pinata fajitas. Great for family's and large crowds, parking can extend for all the way along the road, mole is some of the best in new hampshire. Mariachi band on Fridays are great, Tuesdays friday evening and saturday evening they are hopping. read more

I was visiting Franklin Pierce University at the beginning of this month and decided to grab a bite to eat... some sort of way I ended up in Jaffrey. BOY am I happy I did. First of all this Bostonian (pointing at chest) who resides in Southern California, and frequently visited Oaxaca, Mexico - knows her way around authentic Mexican food. The smell of the food when you enter those doors at once let's you know this is going to be good!! The Birria tacos were good, although I'm used to my consume having a little more broth, this one was thicker than I am used to but it was still delicious. Also the rice was crunchy and I didn't like the beans but (again) I'm used to pureed refried beans with more flavor. The Carne Asada Tacos were tasty as well. I didn't have my usual beverage but perhaps on my next trip I will. Service was attentive and friendly. It wasn't to busy when I arrived but I noticed a steady stream of people coming and they all seemed ecstatic over their entrees. Respectfully Reviewed. read more

My husband and I visited La Pinata Mexican Restaurant in Jaffrey last night or dinner, on a Friday night just before 6 pm. When we arrived, there were few dinners, though by the time we were paying our bill, most seats were full. We ordered Camaron Cilantro, Shrimp and Bacon chimi, Taquitos with short rib, a Pinata Punch and soda for drinks. Dessert was sopopiillas. The food was marvelous, with the short rib taquitos stepping up as the standout in the crowd. As someone who regularly uses a grill, I don't know how the chef got the meat so tender and soft. There were ten half-pieces on the appetizer plate, each of mine were amazing. The consistency and mouth feel were simply perfect. Just behind those was my husband's Shrimp Cilantro. The generous portion of shrimp was smothered with a magical sauce, cilantro, onions and sliced mushrooms. The downfall of the selection was the tails left on the shrimp. With the thick sauce, it was impossible too eat that luscious meat hiding inside. of note -- our apps came out after our meals. Also, our sopopillas were served with chocolate and caramel, even after I asked for just honey. I didn't eat many, but my partner ate them heartily. The drink was okay, but next time I'll choose something else. read more

Food and deserts are very delicious, worth checking out it is also very affordable each meal mostly being under $15, I tried there queso chimi and fried ice cream both were worth what they were priced at. read more

They accommodated this party of four at 8:30 and although we kept them late, they could not have been more welcoming and enthusiastic. Very nice Margaritas served in a lovely glass. The food was very good. Shrimp and bacon Chimichanga with refied beans and rice was delicious. Ceviche appetizer was very nicely prepared. Fish taco was quite tasty. This is a family run operation with other locations in Rhode Island. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. Dining room has comfortable booths. Full Bar has high tops. Extensive Margarita menu. All I have to say is I wish they were in Boston. Being a California girl, this has to be the best Mexican spot I've been to in New England in the past 10 years that I've lived in Boston. I come up to NH during the summer for lake time and I'm so happy to have found this place. The flavors are phenomenal. It's legit on another level. The food and drinks are amazing. Wow! Accidentally stumbled on this restaurant when the place we were headed turned out to be closed for vacation. I can't believe I hadn't heard of it despite being open a few months. The interior is so much better than it was previously (when it was a different restaurant.) It is festive, bright and cheerful. The service was outstanding- within seconds of sitting down we had water as well as chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh with the perfect little kick. The servers were very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious! I am partial to Mexican food in general however the beans and carnitas were really great. Other guests in my party had chimichangas and enchiladas which they also really enjoyed. It was also quite affordable for fresh, well-prepared food. I will definitely be going back asap! read more
