Wonderful, family friendly restaurant. We both had their goat cheese salad with orange vinaigrette dressing. It has become my "go to" when we are there. I've even taken extra order home to enjoy the next day. My other favorites are eggplant parm, chicken Marsala and chicken in lemon sauce. This time I brought dessert home: lemon tart was just fabulous and also got some exceptional biscotti for coffee on Sunday morning at home. SO worth a visit!! read more

New owners and more music which is a plus but I definitely miss some of the menu items that made this place a staple that they phased out with the new owners. For at least 25 yeas my go to was the butternut squash ravioli, I was horrified during my last visit to see it was gone. Older crowd here for the most part although i feel like friday and saturday nights they are trying to get more of a younger crowd with the choice in music sometimes. , despite their size reservation are a must or you could be waiting 40 minutes in the lobby even though there are visibly tables open that entire time. Still probably the best option in the area for pasta, although if you have shellfish allergy you are more limited. As I get older the darker lighting in this location becomes more bothersome to me. If you go with kids bring something to entertain them, the more senior patrons get easily annoyed with kids that aren't silent and blending in with the wall paper. read more

Let's start off that this place is the most charming renovated farm house. We loved the interior and was an interesting clash being an Italian restaurant. The food was spectacular. We are originally from the Boston area and adore the North End. We moved out to the burbs and this place was still an hour away....totally worth the trip. I got the Gorgonzola Chicken. I asked my wife for a divorce so I could marry this dish. Just creamy and beyond sinful. Great stuff. The wait staff were friendly and affable albeit a tad slow. Nowadays, with the employment shortage, you can't really bitch about service if they're slow, but busy. It's just the new normal. Nancy, our server didn't even say happy birthday when ID's where checked let alone mentioning her name when she sat us down. That BlueMoon Martini tasted like soapy water mixed with Gin and a Orange. It was a Very Strange taste, I highly don't recommend. It was in the special and the name sounded pretty catchy. Next, we had to wait 40 mins for the food to be served from when we ordered. Now when I ordered I asked for Penne instead of Angel Hair pasta. Which was not a problem for them. We finally get out order And it was a Single layer of about 50-55 Penne pasta pieces. Not even a Toddlers Serving. After that I said I was ready to go and asked for the check and when she brought that over she must have sensed something was wrong, I started to mention what was wrong. She did offer to bring more pasta after I mentioned the small portion ($25 entrée) but I was already packing up my chicken that I was going to just eat at home. Del Rossi's is off the beaten path, only open on weekends, and thus has very few current reviews. That's all unfortunate because Del Rossi's is probably the best old-school Italian resto in the area. Certainly one of the best in Southern NH. There are things that stand out. Cream of garlic soup is a must try; absolutely unusually delicious. Might have a dash of madeira in it. Any of the pastas are pure Italian comfort food. The pork loin eggplant Neapolitana was simply to die for. Old standards like chicken parm remind me of my ex-wife's grandmother (in a good way). All melty with some singed cheese around the edges. And they make their own delicious tiramisù, which also reminded me of someone's grandmother. read more

We really wanted to eat here the other day, but after waiting in a hot dining room for twenty minutes for the waitress to acknowledge that we were at the table, we decided to get up to leave. Thank God the hostess had given us water when we sat down or else we might have passed out. It's not like nobody walked by the table; they just rather studiously avoided eye contact. Not even a "be right with you". What made this worse is that the couple at the next table came in well after us and at least had bread on their table within five minutes. So if this was because the place was busy, what did those two do to get service right away? I didn't see them flashing twenties or anything. The happy ending is that within fifteen minutes of getting up to leave, we had food on our table and had at least finally placed a drink order. But that's because we had driven to another restaurant. I'm giving it two stars because I have eaten here before and the food was fine. Not great but fine, and we had a hankering for Italian food. But I won't be trying again. Not after reading all the other reviews and realizing that this seems to happen a lot. Had dinner there last weekend. The restaurant was very spacious and has taken good covid precautions (table spacing, plexiglass dividers, masks & sanitizers). The staff was very friendly and inviting. Service was attentive and accommodating. The have such an extensive menu that we had a tough time choosing. The food was very good. I had the chicken & pasta in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. They used a strong Gorgonzola but it wasn't overpowering. I loved it! My son had the ravioli. I've had two very negative experiences here. The owner/hostess at the front could not be more rude if she tried. She did not look up from her desk even though we were clearly the only ones in there and standing in front of her. On our second visit we were "greeted" the same way- and after sitting in a boiling hot restaurant with no A/C, and no service from waitstaff, we got up and left. When the "hostess" asked if we were leaving and we said yes she gave a quick "Sorry"- if she was sorry, she would have asked why we were leaving. She is so rude it feels personal. After hearing how this place is an institution we had to give it a try! We LOVE authentic Italian cuisine and needed to get our fix after Marzano's closed in Peterborough. The old farmhouse transformed into a restaurant is quaint and welcoming. We stood in the waiting area for a long time before being acknowledged. A woman employee, who was extremely underdressed for dinner service compared to the wait staff (tshirt and jeans), kept coming to the counter giving instructions to waitstaff and ringing up bills. We were the only customers in the waiting area. Not once did she look up and speak to us. After an uncomfortable moment, we greeted her and she stated she'd be with us in a moment. (No hello, no eye contact) Another couple, clearly regulars, came in and she greeted them and offered to seat them for their reservation! It was extremely rude! When she returned we approached her asking if she could seat us - she refused to make eye contact and stated she'd be with us shortly. We learned not only was she the hostess but also the owner! She seated two more "regular" customers before asking a passing by waitress to seat us. Our waitress was helpful and friendly. The menu looked wonderful. The prices were high, but if this was truly high quality, authentic Italian it would be worth it. My husband ordered a special pasta with mussels. I ordered an Alfredo dish. The portions were small to average and the food was extremely bland completely lacking in flavor! They state the past is fresh, but clearly was boxed pasta. We LOVE fresh pasta and this was was absolutely not fresh. Rating the food as mediocre might be a stretch. This was an extremely expensive less than mediocre dinner. Quaint old farmhouse converted into a restaurant. Truly a great idea if executed properly. The food here is not good. Meatballs had a peculiar taste and were extremely salty. I am shocked that this restaurant isn't five stars on here. I used to live in the area about 10 years ago and would beg my parents to take me here. I hostessed here for a year in high school and then moved away. Every time I have been back the food has been constantly amazing! My aunt had her wedding reception here, I had a graduation party here and many special dates. The owners are hard working and the food speaks for itself. I challenge anyone to find more delicious garlic soup, handmade salad dressings, fresh pasta, chocolate mousse. I know I sound like an informercial but it drives me crazy when I see reviews that don't match the integrity of the place. Food is decent but service is awful. I was ignored almost the whole time I was there and my water glass didn't get filled once. The waitress treated me like she was doing me a huge favor every time she came to my table. One time I tried to make reservations, I was coming with an autistic girl who would do better if we were in a little room away from the main dining room (there are a couple of little rooms) they were very un-accomadating and finally called back and told me I could come in at 530 if i promised to leave by 7. I work in the restaurant industry and that is never something you say to a guest. I have eaten at Del Rossi's many times. It has it ups and downs. This is a popular restaurant since its food is of better quality than the majority of restaurants in the surrounding area. They seem attract a lot of large parties, extended families and the like. When it get busy, the service and quality of food tend to suffer and it can get quite noisy. Portion sizes vary a lot according to the dish and are unpredictable. The cuisine is Italian American. I try to have fish based dishes when I eat at Del Rossi. Their fish is always flavorful, properly cooked and properly seasoned, though I have at times wished the portions had been larger. Del Rossi's food is not of gourmet quality but is quality is high and tastes good. Personally, I have never been disappointed (except occasionally by their prices). My biggest beef with Del Rossi's is the quality of decor and furniture. The building is a quaint old farmhouse. The interior decor and furniture are basic and utilitarian. The interior lacks atmosphere and is arranged to serve a large number of customers quickly. If customers really felt like they were in a warm comfortable old farmhouse when they were inside the restaurant, I think that they would have a much better dining experience. read more
