As starters there were little rolls of veal with truffled mayonnaise, oyster with red beet sorbet and a tatar from tunafish. First course was tatar from seabass with jalapeno-pepper, scallops and a little orangeice, acoompanied by a piece of roasted skin from chicken and a puree from avocados. Creative and very thoughtful combination. Second jumboshrimps in a light potatoe nest with spinach and a fine cream of vegetables aside served in the shell of the shrimp. Excellent in presentation and taste. Main course the fillet of venison with its sauce, perfectly cooked. A peachsorbet with mint tea finished that perfect dinner. Because The Pantry crowds diners so tightly together, the place is extremely loud...so loud that I felt I like I was part of the adjoining tables' conversations. We could not hear eachother. It was impossible to hold a conversation. It was school cafeteria loud. We were unable to talk about the day and enjoy our meals...the noise was too distracting. Our food was nothing special. It tasted just ok. We expected it to taste better. The sauerkraut tasted pickled...like out of a jar. The red cabbage was overly sweet. The stew had only four chunks of beef. Overall, the food didn't taste fresh made. My wife could have cooked a better dinner at home. When visiting a new country, one expects better food (quality and taste) for 60 Euro.
