One of the best meals you'll have in Malaga. I had the Pasta Carbonara. (I know, I know having Italian in Spain but hey, that's what I was craving) It was so creamy and filled with loads of flavor and the perfect amount of bacon. I also tried the pizza with jamón, it wasn't the best thin crust pizza I've had, but it definitely hit the spot. Shocked to find this gem in a totally touristic locale! We have eaten here twice. It is located in front of the current theater and catty-corner to the Roman theater in Malaga. One would expect, due to the location, mediocre food, high prices and bad service. Nope. Exactly the opposite. Both times we have grabbed lunch here, wait staff has been friendly and welcoming. We have had the quesadillas and the pizza. Both were excellent and a bargain. The portions are generous. The flat great pizza was perfect for two and just 9€. The quesadilla was just 10€ and also perfect for two. The pizza arrived at the table just 10 minutes after the order was placed, as did the quesadillas. No service or cover charge was added to the bill. Free, fast wifi. A 0,0 beer and a sparkling water with the pizza was just 14€. Definitely recommended. read more

Outdoor seating is so relaxing. The waiter was pleasant and so was the cashier. The music was too Latin hits, and the food did not disappoint. Portions are to rave about, and sangrias definitely set the mood for an eventful afternoon. The veggie platter had me considering becoming a vegetarian, but my pizza came, and it looked as delicious as the platter. The carbonara also looked delicious, and the croquettes were quite good! Recommend for a quick bite! read more

Surprisingly good, as it is located on Plaza de la Merced, a heavily-touristed area. Prices are on the high side, compared to places in other parts of town, but the quality was worth it. We ordered mushrooms in garlic that were nicely sautéed and intensely flavored with garlic, a quiche of onions and leeks that was excellent, a chicken kebab served with fresh mayonnaise (this was the only thing that didn't have much flavor, although the meat was tender), lamb Moroccan-style which is basically a stew over couscous with raisins, and pieces of lettuce filled with a mixture of slaw with fresh anchovies on top. Definitely enjoyed our meal and two of us left quite satisfied. Give it a try! read more

Another good find thanks to the yelpers. Every taps we sampled had the unmistakable taste of a dish just prepared in the kitchen. The tomato soup bristled with freshness and was perfectly complimented by the toasted bread that gave off a slight hint of garlic rub. The salmon, shrimp skewers and shishito peppers sprinkled with coarse flakes of salt as well as my boyfriend's braised beef and mushed potato were equally impressive. read more

This place is good, but nothing to die for. It's some tipe of spanish/american with part of italian too. The restaurant its not bad, but if you want great food this is not the place, its good for groups and has varied options for kids, perfect for family. Honestly i wouldn't come here for a typical spanish dish, is more a place of burgers and pastas, but they have many tapas. Being here in Málaga i would experience with some Libanese food, cause of the Maroquean infuence in the culture. You are better going to Fridays or Hard Rock Cafe than this. read more

The płace was packed with the tourists Ordering drinks went fast so did the lunch but we waited quite too long for the order to come This is a standard practice in busy tourist places like this one, to make you drink out and replenish your order so the bill goes higher I suppose The soup of the day (zucchini) came nice and hot yet enormously salty, the other dishes were okay according to my mates We ended with the bill of 78 € for 4 people for a modest orders so it was really good deal If you hate street musicians play and then do a round asking for a tip for there music - this is NOT a place for you- two or three played during our ~1,5 hour stay. read more

Where to begin? This place was the absolute peak of our 4 day trip to Malaga, after some really disapointing food experiences La Plaza gave both excellent service as well as great food. Highly recommended! Not the cheapest meal we've had but 2 complete tapas meals with drinks (with refill) for under 40 euros is without any doubt acceptable. We had the potato wedges, chocken skewers, warm goat cheese, melon and ham and brushetta. We will be back, hopefully already tomorrow :) read more

Found this place on the recommendation of fellow Yelpers and we were pleased to search it out. In a row of other restaurants all facing the square and all looking fairly similar we were happy to find a selection of vegetarian dishes including the best garlicky mushrooms and some really cool mini veggie burgers. The French fries came with wonderful garlicky mayonnaise and the Lebanese platter was great too. Very good service and indoors the restaurant looked very cool with lovely decor. Typical Spanish service, slow but efficient. We sat outside with smokers near us and they were happy to move us. Lots of great vegetarian options and tapas tasted delicious. It was a quintessential European experience with live musicians in the plaza. I recommend this place. The vegetarian burger was pretty bad though and so was the falafel plate. Love this place. We were staying in an apartment upstairs from the cafe for a month and ate there many times along with friends. Tapas was excellent especially the padrone peppers. Their pastas were very good and they were willing to accommodate requests. Only glitch was once we had an afternoon concert. We informed them but my pasta dish came 20 minutes after everyone else had been served. All they said was it's coming. No apologies. Even though it's convenient we will go elsewhere when we are time-limited. read more

I read the reviews with some skepticism due to the touristy location on the Plaza Merced. But we gave it a shot and will definitely go back. The staff are charming and the food was refreshingly different and good. My partner ordered a mini hamburger that initially seemed over cooked but was still somehow tender. It was decent. Also ordered sautéed mushrooms and the padron peppers (yay for finding vegetables in Spain!), both super yummy. I got the salmon in coconut milk and it was terrific. Perfectly cooked and just enough.
