    Is this a tourist trap type place? Yes Is the food good? Yes Did I enjoy my time here? Yes Workers needed to be flagged down but were friendly enough. The location is nice and well cleaned. Food quality and price is very good compared to places in the Netherlands, but I am told the prices are high compared to offerings of similar/better quality in the area. I would give it a 3.5 but only a 3 is possible. Place is a bit crowded and because getting staff attention can be hard, I marked it down. I think if you're a tourist, it's perfectly fine to go to tourist spots. It being a chain or a tourist trap restaurant won't necessarily make the food bad.

    Stopped at this location (they are a small local chain) for a late lunch and they were super busy around 2. Grabbed a seat at the Bar so no wait. Ordered a San Miguel-crisp and light. First Tapa was the Tortillita de Camerones. Shrimp, Omelet wrapped up and fried. Lola's version was delicious with a thin, crispy crust. I wanted to order the Chicharones but unfortunately they don't have a small/half order. Ordered some Pinchos and they were all excellent and tough to choose a best one. That said the Octopus Carpaccio and Dona Marquita (Iberian boneless shoulder) stood out. Iberian Cojunudo was taken over the top by the Quail egg and the Floor Finger Sucker was a good mix of surf/turf protein, veggies that worked. Service was hit/miss given how busy they were. The Lady next to me moved one seat over and so did I to make room and somehow that caused a great deal of confusion. Bills got mixed up and took some time to resolve. Orders are connected to bar stool positions so movement threw the bills/orders off. Overall, stays busy and is quite popular. Mix of locals and tourists. Tasty food and if not in a rush, solid Tapas spot.

    We saw three Casa Lolas within two blocks of each other in the old town of Malaga but this one for some reason was the most popular. At times we saw long lines of people waiting for tables here while the others were empty. Go figure. We snagged an outside table for some late afternoon tapas (no wait). I tried both a glass of Tinto (red wine) and later their vermouth which was very good and smooth. We ordered a number of tapas including the smoked salmon on toast, shrimp & guacamole on toast, the quail egg on jamon (all three were very good), and what was supposed to be the lamb kebab but in fact was braised pork (OK). So many small dishes it is not a surprise that there was a mix-up. For dessert we tried the Spanish style French toast. We tried a version of this in Madrid and liked it so we thought we'd do it again. Lola's version was heavier with more of a molasses sauce than what we had in Madrid. It was good but not great. The prices were decent and the atmosphere fun.

    Knowing Spanish is a MUST for this restaurant. This is a wildly popular spot so you will likely be waitlisted but the moment it's your turn you are seated efficiently. The food is definitely good. The croquetas here were what I had been waiting my entire trip to experience. They had a number of veg croqeutas options which simply did not exist in other cities. The spinach one was amazing and the cod pretty good, just fishier than I had anticipated. Everything we ordered was fried so we were stuffed immediately after eating literally barely anything. Service is interesting. We went through like two waiters before we got a third, a young woman who was SO patient and SO helpful. Despite the tons of customers she took her time answering questions and explaining things. Waitstaff here really are so mindful about advising gluten free customers about what they shouldn't eat on the menu and she was very cognizant of that for my gluten free friend. Would've come back for the croquetas had I more time.

    If you are looking for good tapas try Casa Lola it's great. But be ready there might be some wait to be seated. The waiters and waitresses and host is not too attentive. But once you get past the seating then you have to waive down the waiter to order food note the menu is all in Espanol. The tapas are great and not too expensive. I don't think you can order anything wrong. The food is great.

    The front desk at our hotel recommended this spot and I'm so glad he did. First off, there was a 15 min wait for dinner on a Thursday, and it took a while for them to take our order, but once the order was in, everything came out super fast. I got the Sangria which was so refreshing, and everything we ordered was great! The highlights were the Casalola Style Tomatoes - the green salt on it with olive oil was so simple but really good. The octopus is a must - it's so tender and fresh, served with yellow potatoes. The Iberico acorn-fed ham was really good - oily and great taste. It was a bit too much for my husband, but I really enjoyed it and recommend. This place is packed with tourists, but I didn't mind it at all - it obviously is so good that people from all over the world eat here. We also got 3 pinchos (toast/bread with toppings on top) here, and I would skip these and order other tapas, only cuz the bread is filling and honestly, I didn't care for the bread. I wish I came here 1 more time during my stay in Malaga, but I guess I gotta come back!

    Casa Lola is a bustling tapas bar with a huge menu of tapas, pinchos, sandwiches, and main dishes. Incredibly, the small tapas portions started at just 2 Euros, so it was super easy to try out a variety of dishes from their menu! We started with a basket of bread, olives, and two local dishes: the Porra Antequerana was a cold, creamy soup made of puréed tomatoes, bread, and olive oil, topped with tuna, quail egg, and bits of jamon; and the Callos de Ronda was a stew of chickpeas, sausage, and other cuts of chopped meat in a savory, slightly spicy sauce. Next came the sandwiches, which were definitely the most unique dishes here. The Pitta Pitta came with two crispy rounds of mini pita bread stuffed with slices of Iberian pork loin, goat cheese, and the best part, a creamy truffle mayonnaise, which had an unctuous, umami flavor. The Torito Bravo was a sandwich of crispy, tender bull tail with more of the rich, aromatic truffle mayonnaise in a chewy English muffin-like bread; and finally, the Iberian hamburger came with a patty of ground pork shoulder along with rocket salad, havarti cheese, and sauce, all on a "glass bread" roll that had a crispy, crackled shell on top. This "hamburger" came with one of the best pork patties I've ever had--it was flavorful, juicy, and not at all overcooked. I was also impressed that each sandwich came with a different type of bread, and the flavors and combinations of ingredients of everything we had were simply spot on!

    The good is great!!! Prices are good and there is solid variety. There are a few different locations, but this one tends to have a line whereas the others have more seating so it isn't an issue and the other locations are nearby. If you do line up, make sure you check in with waitstaff first to get your name on the list then line up with everyone else on the opposite wall so you don't block the walk way/street.

    After shopping I went here for late lunch and waited for my BFF. I ordered so many little tapas while seating outside , people watching. The food is great. My favorite is the grilled iberico pork. We stayed here for 4 hours enjoying late lunch and drinking some house wine. A must to visit. Trust!

    Casa Lola serves absolutely amazing food. You can chose from a huge variety of tapas, including creative vegetarian options. I was lost for choice! But not for long;) The food arrived quickly, it looked amazing and tasted even better. Complete sensory overload, and also cheap (2-4 EUR), great value for money. Local sweet wine was 2.00 EUR per glass. Service is quick, but sometimes you have to wait to get in, so popular it gets during the lunch time!

    Judging by the crowds and the reviews, I was expecting an amazing tapas experience but it didn't quite make it to the top tier. Overall the food was good, especially the pintos but the pulp gallega was a little light on octopus and heavy on potatoes and the patatas bra as were swimming in a mayonnaise-y sauce. The service was also quite spotty.

    Someone who lives in Malaga told me that this is the best restaurant in central Malaga. And after eating here, I believe it. You'll notice almost every day a long line to get into this restaurant. There are some spots during the day where you can avoid lines and get a seat for small groups here if you avoid major meal times. Love the menu here. There is a great selection of tapas, and medio (half) portions as well as full raciones. Everything I tried was great. The octopus salad (pictured) also has shrimp and vegetables. The Jamon Iberico here is wonderful. The patatas bravas were made fresh and came out crisp and hot, but had a bit much aioli sauce. The wines and beers and drinks are great as well. The restaurant is clean and couldn't be in a better location, near the Plaza de Constitution.

We got: Pulpo en salpicon - More like a salad, with diced tomatoes and onions, and we only found like 2 pieces of octopus in the entire dish. Although ignoring the fact that we signed up for octopus, I liked the flavors and found it quite refreshing. Sardines - Good, fairly standard. Bacalao (cod) al pil pil - This came highly recommended by the friendly local at the neighboring table. It's a pretty large dish, coming with two sizeable pieces of cod. I wasn't a huge fan of the dish, but not because of the execution, but because it's not to my palette. But I could find no fault with the dish - this was perhaps one of the most tender cods I've ever had and served as an excellent vessel for the pil pil sauce. Pil pil sauce turned out to be more of a creamier (and salty) white sauce, and I don't tend to like those sauces - but if you do, this may be your jam. All in all, nothing we had that I found astounding but not a bad meal. Prices did seem higher than in other cities (€3 for an oyster) but not sure if that's Malaga or this restaurant. Note: they offer free profiteroles at the end, though you may have to ask for them if they don't give them to you.
