I really hate to give these guys a bad review. Manuel and helper came and installed a new variable speed pool pump in June 2019 that I had purchased from another source. They came and seemed to do a good job. Job cost $250. They even invoiced me via e-mail AFTER completing the work and didn't demand payment at the time of completion. They seemed very easy to deal with and I was pleased with the work. HERE'S THE PROBLEM: After the job was done they told me " Hi if you would like us to submit the rebate application for you, LADWP requires a hand-written signature, so please print and sign it at the bottom, and mail to the address below. Also include the first page of your LADWP bill. " So I did as instructed. A few weeks later I e-mailed them to verify it was sent in. No response. A few weeks later I e-mailed them again. No response. I e-mailed multiple times over the last 7 months and no response, ever. Worried, I contacted the DWP Consumer Rebate Program who responded saying "Unfortunately I am unable to locate an application with your name, address or account number." (Rebates generally take about six months, and it's now been seven.) So I'm out my $1,000 rebate still after almost 8 months. I guess I'll submit it myself to try to get the $500 self install rebate. I'm not sure what happened. I'd like to find out it was an honest mistake. I'd like to think that my e-mails have ended up in their spam folder, but I've sent from at least 2 different e-mail accounts. I'm questioning now if it was a scam and they submitted it under false pretenses and have received the rebate themselves. I'm considering if I should take legal action. !-- Support your local small businesses, I just don't think you should support this one. --! read more

This company installed my pool pump through a state backed program to replace old pumps to more energy saving units. During install apparently the pool pump wasn't wired properly and exactly one month after the warranty expired, my pool pump stopped working with an error code. Gave them a call hoping to see if I can get some warranty or get it repaired. Didn't receive a call back until after over a week stating that my warranty is over by a month. The office lady says she will talk to her boss to see what needs to happen. Now, it's been almost three weeks since the first call. They are only interested in making the sales and absolutely zero care for customer service. Find another more reputable company and a company who actually cares about their customers because these guys are definitely clueless. read more

I have to say that I'm having trouble believing all of these 5 star reviews. I called several places and got a few quotes for a new variable speed pump. There was a company that was a bit farther that agreed to give me a quote at $75 cheaper than this company. The front office staff said that they would match it to get the deal. I requested for a bid to be sent to me, and they refused and said they would hand me the contract when they are in person the following day at 9am. Once I agreed and scheduled with them they waited until 8pm that evening to have the manager call me and tell me that they can't in fact do the price that they agreed to. They pretty much waited until I had no options, but I'd rather wait a few days then then go with a company that plays their cards in a sketchy way. Beware of these tactics. Anyway, I'm going with a different company called Pools by Ben, who were honest with me about pricing from start and WERE willing to send a bid for business my way. It was so simple, I scheduled an appointment with Manuel who arrived exactly on time, installed a beautiful new Pentair pump on my pool and he even added an additional part that was missing from my pool system at no cost. Manuel and Aqua Pura was recommended to me by my pool service professional (he had him do a pump replacement as well.) He is offering a deal wherein we can have our old pump replaced with a brand new energy effecient Pentair Superflo Variable speed pump for $200. Soon I should receive a rebate from Pentair for $50 so the total cost on my end is $150...almost seems like it is some kind of scam...but it's not! LADWP is offering a rebate too, and Aqua Pura is willing to do the install now and collect the rebate from LADWP later so I don't have to wait for it myself. Dealing with Manuel was great. He was responsive to emails, showed up on time, and was communicative about the replacement and his work. He replaced the old pump quickly and did a nice job installing the new pump. And what a difference; the new pump is quiet. A few days after the install, everything seems to be running great. Another huge plus: I didn't have to deal with any paperwork! After trying to have my pool filter repaired and reworked for awhile now, it pretty much fell apart randomly one day and began what I can only refer to as the great flood of 2018. So, now that it was painfully clear that I would have to buy a new one, I decided to just upgrade everything. After finding out about the city rebate, everything would also include a new pool pump. All the other pool companies wanted for me to pay for everything upfront and wait for the rebate myself. I would be out thousands of dollars that way. Then I found Manny and Carlos from Aqua Pura. Not only do they wait for the rebate for you aka keeps more money in your pocket, they are also really good at what they do. When everything was installed and it was time to program the digital timer, Manny looked like one of those guys that can do the rubik's cube with a blind fold on! I called and spoke to a nice lady on the phone who told me I could simply send pictures via text of my pool equipment. I received a response same day with all the ppwk I needed to fill out via email and was able to ask a variety of questions of how the new pump would work.
