Instead they heard me out and gave me options to work within my budget. That ceramic tile is still intact, but in an approximate 5 foot of length the GROUT has come loose. The tiles are affixed, only a small amount of grout has chipped off, affecting the pool's aesthetic. Preciado Pools came out to provide an estimate to re-grout this 5 linear feet. Their subsequent quote to me was $600! Just highway robbery. They put in new plumbing, electrical, lighting, equipment, tile, plaster and deck-o-seal and they repaired several serious cracks in the shell. We are back up and running with a gorgeous pool and spa that adds beauty to our back yard. Their team was always on time and got each phase completed on or ahead of schedule. M Preciado resurfaced out pool last month. The quality of the work seems good, but hard to tell at this point. What really stood out to us, negatively, was the very poor customer communication throughout the process (after we signed the contract, of course), an unwillingness to treat customers with basic courtesy and an unwillingness to respond to feedback. I heard M Preciado is normally a subcontractor that doesn't work directly with customers and I can see why. A schedule was provided up front and then not adhered to. After the resurfacing was done, and only after, I was told we couldn't heat the pool or hot tub for 28 days. This was the first I was ever told of this -- we had plans to use the pool and would have scheduled around that. When I provided the feedback that it would be good to let a customer know this up front, I got an abrupt response about "well, you have to let the plaster cure". Of course you do, but you don't have to surprise your customer with information like this after the fact. And you can also say, "oh whoops, I'm sorry!" when a customer points out something you could have done better. A quick "I'm sorry" costs you nothing. At one point right after the resurfacing was done, I received several urgent phone calls and an abrupt and rude email letting me know that a service person had shown up to service the pool and I hadn't been home, despite the fact that I had previously been instructed to fill the pool and let them know as soon as it was done. A week of "startup service" was included in the contract. The dates of the startup service kept changing and no one ever informed me it had actually been completed. Maybe it never was. We went out of town for a few days around the end of the theoretical startup service period and when I returned home, I was greeted with an aggressive letter threatening legal action if I didn't immediately remit the final $500 owed (the check was actually already in the mail). Legal action! Never once did anyone tell me the project was DONE, thank me for my business or ask for my feedback. I could have been a happy customer sharing referrals with my friends. Now I am just a mild grump posting a 3 star review on yelp. Sad. read more

We've used M Preciado for a couple new pools over the last few years. The current pool had the autofill running 24/7. Jose came out and told me to hire a leak detection company. If the root cause of the leak was due to their workmanship, they would fix the leak and reimburse the leak detection cost. Leak detection cost $400. They identified the leak at one of the skimmers due to a bad plaster job. Photos attached. The report also indicated areas of tile that are NOT the cause of the leak but could be a problem in the future. They also provided a video that shows the dye going into the leak at the plaster/skimmer. Jose came out and fixed the leak by applying epoxy to the bad plaster job. The autofill no longer runs 24/7. Been trying to get reimbursed my $400 leak detection fee for 6 months now. read more

Wow, what a great experience! Our pool needed to be repaired, it had a rust stain from old rebar, and the glass tile was cracked and the pool bottom was stained and discolored. From the initial estimate (we had 4 different contractors bid) they were fair and guide us through the entire process. They helped pick tile and pebble sheen finish. The ENTIRE crew, from demolition to tile, to finishers to acid wash and startup crew were all kind and respectful of the property. We ended up with cobalt blue tile, Blue blue pebble sheen and Pentair LED lighting. Pool looks amazing! Preciado provided 2 different bids for the same pool within a matter of days (they work with different pool maintenance companies who pose as their reps). The bids were $450 apart. When asked to honor the lower price, they refused and were adament about charging the 3% CC fee which amounted to less than the $450. While it is ethically questionable to bid the same project on behalf of competing pool maintenance companies, the ultimate question is why Preciado is bidding different amounts for the same pool within days of each other and not honoring the lower bid. When we called them to address this over the phone, the person on the phone was very aggressive and refused to help address this matter. read more

We had a great experience with M Preciado Pool Plastering. Every step in the process was completed on time and correct and the end result looks great. We are very happy with the final product and would definitely recommend them for pool replastering and retiling. The only things to note that could have been better are communication about what day and time the teams would arrive. The first day was confirmed in the contract, but each of the other steps I had to email/call to find out what to expect next. The day of the tile I had not heard back on when to expect them - they just showed up. I think they could be a little better about their follow up with clients on scheduling, but this was not a big deal and would not keep us from recommending or working with them again. Also, be aware. When you get a bid, it only includes a tile from a level 1-3 at the tile store they work with. When we went, there were no tile options that we would have considered in that category (they are all the most basic in color, material and shape) and very few to choose from. I would imagine that most customers would choose something above that grade, so keep in mind when you get the bid that most likely there will be a higher charge for tile. read more

Run, do not walk away from this company. I spent over $23,000 getting my pool redone with nothing but mistakes and sloppy craftsmanship consistently. I paid for an upgraded pool plaster only to have huge white blotches and streaking appearing all over the pool after 3 weeks!!!!!! They claim I signed the discoloration disclosure and have no interest in repairing it. Do yourself a big favor and find another pool contractor. This is my first time writing a negative review for a company on Yelp so use this as a barometer. DO NOT HIRE M PRECIADO POOL PLASTERING. They are an absolute nightmare. After over a dozen emails trying to get them to fix their poorly installed tile work, they decided not to remedy a fix that would have cost them less than $400. My contract with M PRECIADO POOL PLASTERING was for 10 years for a watertight seal and no mention of a 2 year tile warranty that they subsequently used as their excuse for not fixing the problem. What this means for people that might be considering working with them is that they WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR WORKMANSHIP - warranty or not. I am a homeowner in Beverly Hills. My pool contractor hired M Preciado Pool Plastering to install a PebbleFina plaster finish; the owners name is Marciano Preciado. M Preciado was also hired to do the start up following the plaster installation. The plaster job was horrible. The plaster is uneven and rough. There are swirl marks throughout the entire plaster finish. In the shallow area of the pool, there are unusual and unacceptable black marks. There is a large white section in the deep end of the pool. The surface in the Jacuzzi is rough with pieces of plaster sticking out. Here are some example photos of what the plaster looks like. To date, M Preciado has only offered to drain the pool and acid wash, which will only darken the plaster and expose the aggregate or sparkles in the plaster. I have told M Preciado that acid wash is unacceptable and will destroy the plaster finish. Pebble Technologies (Ron Soto), so far, has also been extremely unhelpful. M Preciado needs to remove and replace the plaster. I would not recommend M Peciado. read more

We had some delays due to permit issues; it would have helped if Preciado advised me in advance about the LA Building Department rules about fencing. But other than that, we were very pleased. Preciado replastered my pool with a Pebble Tech finish and installed new tile. It looked great and was completed very quickly once they started. My only complaint is when they repaired cracks a few years later those areas don't match the original plastered areas. One repaired area is darker and another is lighter. I also wish they had told me that their work was not warranteed against cracks coming from the structure underneath. read more

I wasn't the easiest client to deal with, but he always did what he could to keep me happy. I had to change the schedule several times and he was agreeable every time. His guys worked fast and did a good job. Unfortunately the concrete coping developed cracks in a bunch of placed and I didn't accept the work. We had a wonderful experience with M. Preciado Pool Plastering. Our field agent and sales rep was Angel Gonzalez and he was wonderful. He answered all our questions and whenever we had a question we would call his cell phone and he always called us back in a timely manner. We had several different crews and each one had a different job to do. We had a complete remodel of our current swimming pool. We also redid our coping and our deck with pavers. The pool and deck look beautiful. Also, Otelia the contract expert in the office, was also very helpful and helped walk us through the whole process.
