Where I didn't have a good experience is when the tech sliced the top of my toe and didn't say anything. It wasn't until I felt a BURNING sensation and looked to see my toe bleeding that she actually acknowledged it. When I pointed it out she simply shrugged and kept working on my feet. Nay a concern, offer for a bandaid, discount of service or and "I'm sorry." Besides that, my polish has only lasted about three weeks before it's chipped almost all the way off. Typically my the color on my nails can last all summer (minus the obviously regrowth).

However, I feel it is important to share my experience for anyone who values maintaining long, natural nails. As a former nail biter, I spent the last 4-5 years growing and maintaining healthy natural nails. Prior to moving to Tennessee, I successfully wore builder gel and Japanese gel systems for years without experiencing the type of damage I am now dealing with. After two to three visits to this salon, four of my natural nails developed horizontal cracks and breaks at the stress point where the nail leaves the nail bed. One nail completely broke, and several others began splitting in the same way. At first, I questioned whether it was something I was doing. However, I have maintained the same lifestyle, routines, and nail length for years without issue. After seeking a second opinion from another nail technician, I was advised that the problem appeared to be related to the application and structure of the gel rather than my daily activities. I was also informed that excessive filing may have compromised the integrity of my natural nails. What upsets me most is not only the damage to nails that took years to grow, but the financial impact. Less than two weeks after paying for my most recent service, I was forced to seek corrective work elsewhere, spend additional money, and have multiple artificial nails applied while my natural nails recover. Instead of paying for a service that strengthened and protected my nails, I am now starting over after years of growth and maintenance. While others may have a different experience, I would strongly encourage anyone with long natural nails to seek out a technician who specializes specifically in natural nail health, structured gel overlays, and preserving the integrity of the natural nail.
