We usually stay at another chain because my husband had a job that required frequent traveling and he built up a lot and f points. This trip, that chain is charging more than usual for their hotels, both in points and down dollars. We chose LaQuinta because it was half the price of the Marriott hotels in Paducah. The Courtyard is simply not worth twice the price of La Quinta. My husband isn't sure. read more

I'm not recommending this spot to anyone and I definite wouldn't stay again unless there was a major update. The first issue was when I did my normal check of the bed, I found 3 hairs in the sheets, Gross. Then in the bathroom I found more hairs. This let me know housekeeping just isn't on their job. I had a card on dresser that said Chris serviced the room and I could scan WR code to leave a tip. I wish tf I would! The breakfast was decent. They have waffle makers, sausage, boiled eggs, little pillsbury chocolate and powder donuts, a few cereal choices, yogurt, apples, bananas, and juice. The breakfast area looked well kept. The carpet in halls and rooms needs a good cleaning or just replace completely. The shower just needs some caulking in places and the bathroom would be the best part of room. Your typical 2-3 star hotel upon first glance. Looks great outside, but never judge a book by it's cover. I went to the front desk and the young man was really nice. The lobby area was somewhat clean and quiet. There was a reservation made online and I got my key and went upstairs to the King size bed that had been reserved. Well, if you look at the picture, it looked like something from Goldie Locs and the three bears. The bed looked like it had been rolled in and thrown back together when they heard someone coming in the door. I never like complaining but this wasn't right. I went down and showed the pictures and asked if all the rooms were like this. He kindly changed my room to a double Queen. Which would have been fine, because I was just trying to sleep; however, I went into that room and Lysoled the whole room and noticed that there was hair all over the bed and what looked to be coffee or blood stains leading to the bathroom, and pieces of paper on the bathroom floor. I wasn't going back down stairs. I always pack my own cover and pillow. I just slept on top of the hotel covers after I took a shower. The shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner bottles clearly aren't wiped when the room is cleaned. This was not a good look and I won't be back. I am a Marriott goer usually but tried something new. Yeah won't be doing that again. It was late and I needed to sleep is the only reason I didn't go back and ask for an entire refund at the sight of the second room not being properly cleaned. read more

This hotel disappointed. The welcome mat at the front door is curled up and is a trip hazard. The hallway carpets are stained, as are the ones in the rooms. Thankfully, the bathrooms have been updated, and the furnishings were adequate, minus the mattress on the king size bed that was so compressed, to the point of feeling like we were sleeping on the floor. The spa was not working, two of the ice machines were not working, and apparently the vacuum was not working either. The entire place needs a good vacuuming. The breakfast was more than adequate. The lobby looks like the nuclear holocaust has happened. NO CHAIRS ANYWHERE. The clerk was rude. Failed to mention the hot tub was closed even when I asked while reserving the room. I booked a king size bed. Got a room with two queen therefore didn't sleep well as my grandson was sleeping in the other bed. Afraid he might roll out of very tall bed. When I asked the clerk about this she replied, "I gave you the cheap room". The linens and pillows were very nice. The room did not give me confidence it had been sanitized. Fingernail on the toilet paper shelf. Grass inside the door. Hair on the floor. The TV could not be used with ROKU unless a special remote was retrieved at the front desk. Otherwise a nice TV. Then we went to the pool. Four towels for everyone swimming. Trash on tables. Paper on floor. Cloudy pool. The next morning it was no better. Same trash. Wondering if the pool chemicals had been checked and the skimmers emptied. Swam until we found a rubber band with tangled hair in the water! Disgusting! The pool area towels were replenished. I tried to straighten out my Wyndham points online. Couldn't do it. Maybe it should search by phone number? The site suggested a number to call to resolve point issues. Three times I called and nobody ever answered. I returned to the website to call customer service. It rang me over to reservations who forwarded me to Customer service. Fifteen minutes and no answer. I called the number again, rang over to reservations, she said she would wait to ensure someone answered. Twenty five minutes maybe more it automatically disconnected. Very disappointed. read more

The lobby here was especially nice - fish tank was a nice touch. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and the pool/hot tub area was impeccably clean. I've never stayed in a La Quinta before, but we wanted an indoor pool and it was the highest rated option with a pool. The lobby is in great shape. It looks new and it smells good. Check-in was efficient. The rooms are considerably smaller than they appear in the company photos. There's barely room to walk between the TV stand and the beds, but they also look new and still smell new. They come equipped with a microwave and mini fridge. The biggest con, which is a deal breaker for me, are the beds. Cheap, cheap, cheap spring type mattresses, something most people wouldn't even put in a guest bedroom. The good news is that since they are newer mattresses, they're still firm. The sheets are also low quality, but somewhat soft. Also our room backed right up to a train track. I wouldn't stay here again because of the beds, but if that's not important to you, it is clean, new, and reasonably priced. It feels like a sub $100 room, I wouldn't want to pay more than that. read more

I have never in my 53 years registered a complaint about a hotel. Truthfully, this was the worst extended stay (only 6 days) I have ever experienced. 1. The mattress was so worn out, lumpy, that I slept on the floor the entire time. 2. The WiFi was the least dependable I have experienced in a chain hotel. 3. The elevator did not work. 4. I requested housekeeping twice and it was never provided. 5. When I brought my concerns or requests to staff they were defensive and unhelpful. It seems they were sensitive to my (truthfully) slightly energized "tone," and instead of apology or problem solving simply refused to help. I never used a curse word. I never yelled. I was upset as I was not sleeping and was in town for my mother's funeral. Honestly, the female night clerk was wonderful and all other staff acted as if they were my customer. When I shared with General Manager that I wanted to submit a written complaint as I did not find him receptive (exact words) he stated there was no process for a written complaint and "He did not find me receptive."....I have nothing to receive, I am the customer. I was literally stupefied. I have worked as a psychiatrist for twenty years and I suspect the staff here are stressed or have some fear regarding their jobs, that they would be so defensive and unhelpful. read more

Very nice mid scale hotel. Seemed brand spanking new to me. Vick was at the desk when we arrived and I enjoyed our extended conversation. He had a lot of nice things to say about Paducah. The kids enjoyed a short swim in the large indoor saltwater pool. Room was large and very nicely decorated. Beds sit high and comfortable. Internet worked fine. I slept well which is unusual for me in these types of places but I didn't hear a single peep outside of our door all night long. I would have thought the place was empty until I went down to check on the car this morning and saw what looked like a pretty full lot. read more

We stayed here while we on our cross country trip. The first night was great the bed was comfortable but I was cold so I called down to request an extra blanket. I was told of course but you have to come down and get it....ok at $120 a night I shouldn't have to leave my room for this request, but I went down and got the blank. This brings us to day 2. When I woke up I had bites all over my legs. I called down to the desk to request the manager come up to the room. Well he wasn't on site but the lady moved us to a different room. With no apology from anyone I waited for the manager to call. The 3rd day I was sick from the bites and called down to extend my stay, no problem but you have to change rooms again, ok have anyone to help? No you have to come down and get the luggage cart yourself. The desk clerk informed me that Orkin had been called to look at the room for bugs. I'm still waiting for the manager to call me and to discuss what is going to be done. Finally I went down to get some ice since there is no ice machine on the 4 th floor and ask the gentleman at the desk if the manager was going to be available to speak with me before I checked out the following morning. He informed me he was the manager and that since it was late he wasn't going to call me that day, but the following morning. He took pictures of me legs and told me that they had closed the room so that no one else would get bit. He told me he would call me Monday and give a copy of the Orkin report. That was 5-6 days ago. And they charged me $500 for 3 days. read more

We made a reservation at this hotel over the phone for a handicapped accessible room at a rate of $85. We gave the front desk person our Credit card number to secure the reservation. When we arrived at the hotel (after going 7 miles out of our way because there are no signs to this hotel), we were told that we didn't have a reservation and that no handicapped rooms were available. Furthermore we were rather brusquely told that the rate was $99. The clerk did not even bother to search for a reservation using our last name or credit card number until I was able to prove that we had indeed called this hotel earlier in the day. After they finally did search their database, they found a reservation for us for the next night. The front desk clerk and manager repeatedly refused to honor the original rate. I expect a higher degree of customer services from LaQuinta. I travel often with my dog and have stayed in over a dozen LaQuinta hotels this is the first time that I have been treated like a liar having my word repeatedly questioned. But then I also expect more toiletries beyond a single small bottle of hand lotion in the bathroom. This is a Nice property. Too bad the customer services sucks. read more

The cherry on the top is that there are two Tesla chargers in the parking lot for the use of guests who need to charge their electric car during the day or overnight! read more

Called this hotel from the road....we are moving from South Florida to Colorado with a large dog. Had driven 1000 miles yesterday and were past exhausted. What a truly pleasant surprise! The staff were all so friendly and the hotel is AMAZING! It's clearly been recently renovated. Room is a suite, very spacious. The loveseat is seriously uncomfortable but pretty. Excellent bed but horrible, rock hard poly pillows. Recommend you put a couple of down pillows in each room. The location was perfect...huge grassy field right next door to walk the dog in. THIS REVIEW IS RELATED ONLY TO AN EXPERIENCE W/ RESERVATION DESK AND ONE YEAR IN ADVANCE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR QUILT WEEK - NOT A STAY AT HOTEL. I thought a warning for anyone attempting to reserve this hotel for Quilt Week was important. I made a reservation in January 2019 for a stay in Sept 2019. The confirmation email I received clearly states that the reservation can be cancelled without penalty. Today I had to cancel. When I called the 800# I was told that my reservation had a 1 year cancellation provision and that I'd be charged for a night. When I told them that the email confirmation I received said clearly that my reservation could be cancelled w/o penalty up till the day of the reservation they transferred me directly to the Paducah front desk to resolve this issue. Though the front desk did cancel my reservation they completely undercut what should have been a "thank you for the great service" moment by being incredibly rude - the guy who answered the phone lectured me about how I should have seen the extra policy regarding cancellation on the reservation page and this was my fault" That, "even though we're going to cancel now, we will not do it again!" etc. I tried to give him some feedback about the disconnect between their policy and the confirmation email I received, but he was incredibly rude, talking over me and continuing to berate me for not seeing their policy. I do hope that someone at the hotel sees this review and maybe tries to address the fact that their customers are given very different information when they receive a confirmation email from their corporate reservation system. When I look at their website today I do see a small link that says "additional rate details" and stipulates this 1 year in advance cancellation policy. I did not see that when I made the reservation and do think that there's a better way for the hotel to communicate this policy. In addition, if you book on various other reservation websites you are not shown this policy, so it looks like you're penalized if you book directly on their site. Finally, I DO NOT see that other local hotels are trying to impose such an extreme cancellation policy, so that may be something people want to consider when they decide where to book their stay. read more

Our stay at La Quinta was a breath of fresh air. My family and I had to travel to Paducah at the last minute for a family emergency. After a long day at the hospital, we wanted nothing more than a good night's rest. We went to La Quinta after all having had good experiences at La Quinta hotels before. We were not disappointed with our stay. We arrived at about 10 PM. The front lobby was beautiful and very clean. The front desk staff was extremely welcoming and very accommodating. We asked how much a king bed room would be and he stated "I'm actually going to give you the king suite at a AAA discount." My sister and I both received room upgrades without even asking. Check-in was very fast. We proceeded to our rooms and couldn't believe how nice and new everything was. The hotel had only been open just a little over a month so everything had the "brand new smell". Our room was very spacious and after a long, stressful day, the bed felt like heaven. The decor was modern but serene. The shower was very hot and water pressure was perfect. My sister's room was practically a one bedroom apartment. There was a sitting area, bedroom, bathroom, and small kitchen area with room for a hot plate/griddle, a dishwasher, microwave and full refrigerator. The next morning, we were greeted with a continental breakfast including two waffle makers, sausage, eggs, biscuits, cereals, yogurts, muffins, and other items. So convenient and was very filling. Check out took less than 3 minutes and we were on our way. I can't thank the staff enough for allowing us the opportunity of a good night's rest while away from home in a stressful situation. Changed ownership. Now charges a pet fee (which I wasn't charged in December but now in February am). They also changed carries for the television channels. The placard in the room is NOTHING like the channels on the television. Good luck finding the channel you need/want. Discussed with the staff. Apparently management is SUPER BUSY doing whatever else (collecting pet fees I suppose) to update the channel menu to reflect reality. Stopped here many times over the years as I have family in town. The walls are thin and we could hear the people in the next room and they weren't loud. That made it hard to keep our dog quiet. Then the train went by right outside our window (twice). At 6 am the alarm in the empty room on the other side of ours went off... for 10 mins. It timed out and then started again 10 mins later. I rated it two stars instead of one because they are dog-friendly, the staff was nice, they served a decent hot breakfast and the bed was comfortable. The only wired thing was the bathroom, don't know if the commode was changed out or if the bathroom was built to small but the door to the bathroom literally hits the front of the commode. Avoid this hotel I would give zero stars if I could. Last weekend my extended family and I were in town for a family reunion, we booked about 8 rooms. We chose La Quintana because of their good reviews and being pet friendly. I do have to agree that the hotel was clean and pet friendly, and the majority of the staff friendly, some were rude. That being said management is not friendly, helpful or reasonable. The first night of our stay, a bathroom sink in my 78 year old Dad's room accidentally got broken. A bottle fell in it. My Dad immediately informed the staff and he was moved to another room, and was informed he would be responsible for monetary damages to the sink. My brother who works in the HVAC and plumbing trades, said he has never seen a sink break like that from a bottle falling in it. The rest of our family agreed. Our conclusion is it must have been poor quality materials or a manufacturer defect. We felt the hotel should assume responsibility, after all isn't that what their insurance for? My Dad being the responsible man he is felt he should assume some of the cost and went to talk to management, with the offer to pay a percentage. The property owner rejected his offer and threatened to call the police on a 78 year old man with a heart condition! My brother tried to talk to them to no avail. So he then contacted La Quinta corporate and was able to talk to Barry Sullivan the regional director, who agreed these charges were punitive, Barry tried to contact the franchise on our behalf, again to no avail, the owner/manager would not budge. I feel that is very unfortunate and not a good or fair way to conduct a business. This occurred because of a bottle accidentally being dropped, we are a family, my Dad an elderly gentleman, the majority of us middle age adults there with our children to celebrate at a family reunion, and none of us were young party people out to damage a room. We come to town yearly and we rent many rooms, I will not be staying here again, I will be taking my business elsewhere next year! I would advise others to avoid this hotel as well, you never know when an accident might occur and this could happen to you too. I feel it is not right, fair or ethical to take advantage of the elderly. For this reason I am giving this hotel a zero rating and a negative reviews! read more

We love staying at La Quinta Inn's even if we don't bring our dog just like this visit because it makes you feel happy & relaxed to see other dog owners with their dogs. Warning, sink broke in my almost 80 year old father's room. La Quinta charged him $350.00 for broken sink that appeared to be caused by Manufacturer defect. General Manager was rude and called him a liar. We complained all the way up to the regional director. Who called the charges Punitive, but since this is a franchised location he was unable/unwilling to do anything and the franchise owner refused to reverse the charges even when the regional director advised him to do so. We where in town for a reunion and had 8 rooms with our group, we will be going to the Auburn next year. read more

Decided to book this hotel while passing through largely due to the positive reviews. I agree the hotel seemed new and cleaner then a typical hotel. We did experience 3 disappointing things that would keep us from staying here again. 1) Called down to request an extra blanket after we were in bed. I was told "yes you can have one, but you will need to come down and get one." As I was already in bed, I just put on my coat and crawled back in bed. Housekeeping anyone???? 2) I was awaken in the middle of the night by the neighbor couple "Enjoying themselves" .. Come on - how thin are these walls? 3) There was NO water pressure. Ok, maybe because we were in the 4th floor. But we have taken showers in much higher places before and actually could rinse the soap off our bodies. All and all .. More negatives then positives. This La Quinta opened within the past two years and is still an affordable hotel option in Paducah. It is on Coleman Crossing Circle, which is a good location where many hotels have popped up in recent years. It is clean, relatively inexpensive, safe, and nice. It's not over the top with frills, but I think that's to be expected. The pool and gym are appear to be nice and well up kept. The breakfast isn't anything to write home about, but it is decent. I have stayed here twice for work purposes, once this year and once last, and I would happily stay here again. read more

We stayed here and the hotel, in general, was well maintained. We stayed there for four days over Christmas and had a nice stay. My wife and I thought the beds were a bit too firm, but they were still comfortable. We had a couple issues with our room, which I will not detail here since Vick, the General Manager, addressed them to our satisfaction. The hotel was quiet, and the times we went down to the pool we were the only ones there. The hot tub could have been hotter, in my opinion, though. We always stay at this hotel at least during two trips a year. Staff is consistently polite, room is always clear and well appointed. This remains our favorite LaQuinta of the dozens we stay in. Would have given 5 stars, but the heat worked only when it felt like it and the bathroom faucet leaked constantly. They offered us another room, but we were too tired to move! Stayed there recently and had a terrible time getting wifi to work. I tried logging in several times and asked for help from front desk clerk. She initially reset for me but I still couldn't get it to work. She seemed busy with other things so I went across town to see my family. Came back and tried several times to use internet again. Finally, I told the clerk I'd either like to switch rooms or get refund. Switching rooms she said probably wouldn't work but that they refused to give me a refund because (1,) nobody else in the hotel complained about internet....that's not a good reason because there wasn't hardly anyone staying there because of the pandemic. (2) the room would have to be cleaned and (3) the fact that I was there for 2 hours. Again, spent most of that time with family that I was in town to see, was in the room for a total of about 45 minutes and most of the time was frustration trying to get internet to work so I could check my work email. Checked in to hotel across the street and had no problems with internet. So clearly there was a problem with the hotel's wifi. Very rude service and I attempted to talk to the manager the following day and he was just as rude. I would never consider staying there again. read more

I went to Paducah for 2 days: For a bed (2 queens in this case) and a hot tub. I had read on these reviews that the hot tub wasn't working. [I just started reading more and more reviews...this doesn't come natural to my generation...we didn't have this.] So I called the hotel itself to check and the lady said that it was working. I arrived late with my son. I went straight to bed and he took a shower first. When he went to get into the bed, there was crusty stuff all over!!! I would have called the manager and gotten a different room! But he didn't want to wake me. He put the rest of the sheets on it and just slept under the blanket. We told the man that was there and he said he would have housekeeping come and change the ben by the window. Then he said that he would credit us for this nights stay. Then I went down to the hot tub and my son went to the work out room. The hot tub was colder than the pool. The man that was there was so nice!!! He wanted me to speak to the manager that was on his way....but I had a meeting...and I did call back later. When I called, they charged me a discounted rate of $84 from $109. The man's word was probably meant with 100% sincerity! But it was out of his control. Of course, this has never happened to anyone here before...but I read about it first...and thought that you can't believe everything you read. That turned out to be a $100 (with taxes) mistake. Off to sanitize my son! and get warm in a clean, warm hot tub! LAST NOTE: All events aside, the bed at this hotel was 'hard' - for me (I know everyone likes it a different way). The next night we went to a Marriot for the same quoted price as the LaQuinta and the bed was softer (almost perfect) and the whole hotel was "clean", like a new build! If they would have done what was told to me and not put the charge on the bill, I would not have taken the time to do this...but I figured that others need to know when you are planning your trip. The rooms were updated but cheaply done. The front desk took 20 minutes to check me in with one person in front of me. The lady was not very friendly. I was disappointed at the service after checking in. A friend and I went down to the lobby where there was a small bar, sign says BEER, OPEN and is lit up. We waited and waited, there was a couple of people in line to check in. The clerk was training a new employee. The main clerk says we have to wait til all guests are checked in. I politely asked why couldn't the trainee serve us a couple of beers. The main clerk tells me hotel policy is to check in guests before doing anything else. I think there should be a at least a one to one situation. Check a guest in, serve a beer to an already checked in guest, check another guest in, an so on. I think that's a fair solution. Stayed here for 3 nights using my LaQuinta rewards points in a huge suite that had a king bed in a private bedroom with a door, living room area, desk, and kitchen. Was more like an apartment then a hotel room. Hotel is less than 2 years old and is beautiful. Very clean and very comfortable beds! Swimming pool and hot tub were very nice and they had an outside area with tables and chairs. Exercise room was excellent with treadmills, bike, eliptical, free weights, and weight machine. Everything you could want or need. Breakfast was the only disappointment. Eggs were little precooked circles. Gravy had little flavor and no sausage in it. All staff at hotel seemed friendly except for Asian woman working the breakfast area. She never greeted us, said hello, or even acknowledged our being there. She was upset at an older woman who did not operate the waffle maker properly scolding her for not rotating the griddle and activating the timer. The ladies waffle was burnt on one side and very light on the other. The Asian employee was upset because the waffle stuck to the griddle. She did help her get it out but instead of making her a new one she placed it on the older woman's plate. Not a pleasant breakfast experience because of her attitude. Hotel management was very helpful during pre visit to hotel and during our stay by giving us info on how to use our xbox on the hotel's wifi by using an alternate mac address! Awesome. Great place to stay...new, very clean & modern. Room was decorated like an upscale spa hotel. Large walk-in shower, large room with sitting area, desk, fridge, microwave and king bed. The breakfast was better than most hotel type breakfast. I don't eat carbs so eggs are about all I can eat in hotels and they were actually good. They did have a large variety of breakfast foods and the dining area was beautifully decorated and the staff was very friendly. I read reviews about unfriendly staff, but we didn't encounter any. They had a great workout room with free weights and nice pool. We will definitely stay her again. If I would have anything negative to say it would be the pillows are the big fluffy, thick kind and I like flat. I usually use a towel anyway and there wasn't a mirror in the main area so I could do my hair or make-up while others were in the bathroom. read more

I stayed here approximately a month ago. It's ok for what you get. The carpet was a bit dingy in our room and the staff wasn't extremely friendly. The continental breakfast does end early compared to other hotels and if you are even a minute late, they shut the doors. read more
