No greeting, no hospitality, and overall just an unpleasant experience from the moment I arrived. I got there around 8 PM after a long day of traveling and only needed a place to sleep before leaving early the next morning. The room itself was old, dirty, and poorly maintained, but since I was exhausted and leaving the next day, I didn't have the time or energy to argue or find another hotel. The real issue came after I checked out. I discovered that I had been charged a $75 pet fee despite the fact that I was traveling alone and did not have any pets with me. I literally arrived in the evening, slept, and left the next morning. Charging guests for something that never happened is completely unacceptable. Between the rude staff, dirty room, and questionable extra charges, I would be very cautious about staying here. My experience felt less like hospitality and more like they were looking for ways to charge guests additional fees.

The restaurant is decent but nothing to die for. Room service didn't come but they offered us a free night that we weren't able to accept. I do want to make a note that the staff went above and beyond to provide a good stay. However they are limited by the amount of staff in the establishment.

Comforter on bed has what looks like unwashed stains....appears they flipped the dirty side over so stains go unnoticed. People who service the room good, when they actually service your room. There's a really nice rooftop bar that serves food. My room faced the street and the floor to ceiling windows were awesome. Nicely decorated and clean. There's a hospitality room on the floor with ice, water and coffee pods. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. There is a free parking garage a block away or you can opt for valet. Looking forward to staying here again

Anywho, she gets us checked in on the 3rd floor. I had 2 rooms so they were 314/316 which was perfect. I was in 314. As soon as I entered it was a strong musty smell that hit me. I turned on the air to clear it. Everything else was visually fine, despite needing minor TLC. UNTIL I NOTICED ANTS in the bathroom! We called the front desk and they sprayed something. The ants were still present. I think they knew of the ant problem, they advised they come when it rains or there's water. But 316 didn't have any ants! Because we only had a short stay I didn't further complain, but that's pretty gross and definitely will make me think twice about staying here again. Other than that the clerks were friendly.

Frankie was pretty point blank in saying I did not cancel the reservation and charged me the full amount of the reservation and a parking fee, for a spot I did not occupy. I am a Bonvoy member at one of the highest levels and stay at Marriott properties 70-100 days per year. If this is the way they treat a good customer, buyer beware. So my advice is choose a different hotel when staying in Tuscaloosa! Also if you do make a reservation at this hotel and need to cancel, make sure you have documentation of the cancellation.

The bathrooms are like ones from the 80's, tiny. Here are few more lovelies we encountered. We didn't have any washcloths the first night. We only had decaf coffee in the room. The refrigerator was warm. The bathroom floors had pubes piled up in the corners. The carpets are stained. The bed creaked any time you moved. The thermostat with separate fan control was original to 1987 and it was either 90 or 55 degrees in the room. Every single light bulb in the room was a different Kelvin temperature. Our view outside from our window was of the unkept dumpster area. No free nasty breakfast either! No coffee area in the lobby to make up for the decaf bs. The front staff was tepid at best. Elevators are even sketchy. Will not stay again unless it's free. Then I need to weigh my options before making a final decision even then.
