No greeting, no hospitality, and overall just an unpleasant experience from the moment I arrived. I got there around 8 PM after a long day of traveling and only needed a place to sleep before leaving early the next morning. The room itself was old, dirty, and poorly maintained, but since I was exhausted and leaving the next day, I didn't have the time or energy to argue or find another hotel. The real issue came after I checked out. I discovered that I had been charged a $75 pet fee despite the fact that I was traveling alone and did not have any pets with me. I literally arrived in the evening, slept, and left the next morning. Charging guests for something that never happened is completely unacceptable. Between the rude staff, dirty room, and questionable extra charges, I would be very cautious about staying here. My experience felt less like hospitality and more like they were looking for ways to charge guests additional fees.

The bartender D on the Rooftop actually made our stay tolerable, the atmosphere @ the Rooftop was void of anything inspiring, the outside patio was merely a rooftop with tables. The lobby breakfast area, sadly unworthy a visit, the one staff person on duty wished they were somewhere else, to get a single slice of toast was an effort. Speaking of the lobby breakfast area. The morning we opted to eat there, I noticed a red m&m on the floor under my chair as I sat down. Afterwords I went back to see how long it would remain there, it till late into the second day for it ti disappear. Courtesy coffee checking out day, two sweetners but the actual sugar packets were empty. This speaks volumes. How hard is is to reach for a handful of sugar packets and fill the container? I would've never written any of this except we stayed in Tuscaloosa for only one reason. My spouses birthday. We chose IHG Indigo over my better judgment, staying at the Residence Inn at Marriott because we had a free night due us by IHG and Indigo Hotel offered the free night. They offered it, I didn't beg them. Second night we used IHG points. Checking out I didn't bother asking for a recipe. Why? No charges. Nothing should been on it. I get home and see on my IHG Chase Credit Card a room accommodation charge. I call IHG. Is free not free? IHG says I must deal with the hotel directly. I hear nothing, I called the Managers Office twice. No return call. I called the front desk, a person sounding a lot like the Managers voice mail answered saying a mistake was made, my credit card will be credited. She more or less hung up on me. I see the pending $50.00 has been removed however to date the accommodation charge with two separate taxes is still on my account. I have no fault with the hotel employees. The fault lyes directly at management. A nice facility poorly managed. Beautiful location. Maybe it's the college town mentality?

Is this place a five star hotel, well hell no. It's also not a one star. So I'll just say it's a raging five!!!!! Why is everyone so dang angry any way? "How dare they, I'm a diamond club"!, STFU. Just go home and yell at your kids or beat your dog, whatever makes you happy. "But I'm elite", shut it! Just no I'm sorry, I may be over it, I've been in the car with my family a lot in the last 24. Neat lobby with and market, bar, and restaurant. Free Tesla Wall Chargers. Nice mattress. Hot water. Coffee. Neat river walk area with tons to do and see nearby. I hope to live long enough to make it back here someday soon. Peace and chicken grease! '25 - 14/111

We stayed here for Bama Bound on 6-15-25 and again the next night. My wife suggested this place when we signed up for BB. I knew nothing of it except it was not new. I really only like new hotels these days. My concern was only justified upon arrival. I should have researched it beforehand but you live and continue to learn. It was built in 1987 and the last time it was remodeled was 2012. I just found that out right now and you are welcome! Here is an article excerpt on the remodel back in 2012: The 26-year-old hotel is undergoing a $1.65 million interior facelift designed to give it a fresh 21st-century look. That was 13 years ago and it shows in all areas and in every nook and cranny of this place. Old, tired, and slightly ewww.... That my best description. The rooms are decent sized. The bathrooms are like ones from the 80's, tiny. Here are few more lovelies we encountered. We didn't have any washcloths the first night. We only had decaf coffee in the room. The refrigerator was warm. The bathroom floors had pubes piled up in the corners. The carpets are stained. The bed creaked any time you moved. The thermostat with separate fan control was original to 1987 and it was either 90 or 55 degrees in the room. Every single light bulb in the room was a different Kelvin temperature. Our view outside from our window was of the unkept dumpster area. No free nasty breakfast either! No coffee area in the lobby to make up for the decaf bs. The front staff was tepid at best. Elevators are even sketchy. Will not stay again unless it's free. Then I need to weigh my options before making a final decision even then. With that said... it is in a good spot on the planet for parents of students hotel needs. It just needs to be gutted and replaced. '25 - 60/111
