In short: WRITING ROCK IS WAY OUT THERE! If you're an intrepid traveler, if you like to explore obscure locations and go where few have gone before, you owe it to yourself to find this fascinating site. Just being in the area is a remarkable experience. The Writing Rock is covered with strange, ancient Native American petroglyphs. Adjacent is a picnic area, a playground and basic bathrooms. You'll travel a dirt road just to reach it. For all kinds of reasons, THIS PLACE IS WAY COOL!

It was beautiful and I'm not really sure who or what organization is taking care of this site but it was clean and well maintained! The only thing to watch is: Deer Flies and Horse flies (Tabanidae) You need to have a plan and proper protection for these flies. If you are around the area, I highly recommend a short stop and appreciate the beauty of the site!
