My experience with this company has been an absolute nightmare and I would not recommend it no anyone. Furthermore, I will go out of my way to leave reviews anywhere possible to save others from losing their money, valuables and peace of mind. I will divide my review in 3 Sections; Item pick up, Vehicle and Claims Process.
MOVING DATE AND PICK UP
We contacted the company around June 2020 and arranged for them to pack and ship our belongings from Miami to Puerto Rico. The scheduled pick-up date was for Friday, September 25 2020. It is important to note that we advised the company that we needed to turn in our apartment keys on September 26 as we were moving out of state on the 27th and requested for a sooner date, but they said the 25th was their only available date prior to our move out. We agreed to this date and diligently performed follow up calls to the company at least once a week during the month of September to confirm that pick up was still on schedule. My husband did one last follow up on the morning of September 24 to confirm pick up for the 25th and was advised yet again that everything was on schedule. At 1pm EST of September 24 he received a call from the Miami site manager, Adriana, to inform us that pick up had been cancelled due to their fleet needing to be inspected. Adriana's only solution for us was to advise us to hire another moving company to pack our belongings and have them delivered to their site and only offered to discount $100 from our $1,500+ fee. She was very rude, unprofessional and went as far to tell us that if using La Rosa del Monte's service was such a hassle for us, that we should hire another company. This left us with less than 24 hours to hire another company! We were able to hire a different moving company who charged us over $700 to pick up our belongings and deliver them to La Rosa del Monte's site. It's safe to say that our trust in their service was lost since this moment and things would only get worse.
VEHICLE
We also hired this company to ship one car from Miami to Puerto Rico. We dropped off our car at their lot on September 16, 2020 and were told that it would take 6-8 weeks from drop off date for us to receive our car. The 8 weeks had passed, and I had not heard anything so on November 25 I decided to call for an update. A representative told me that our car has just been shipped on November 19 and they could not provide an estimate arrival date. Our car arrived during the last week of December and we were called to pick it up on Wednesday January 13, 2021. We went to pick it up the next only to be turned away because and employee had tested positive to COVID and they were closing for the day. We were finally able to pick up our car on Monday January 18. It took 17 weeks from drop off date to receive my car.
DELIVERY AND CLAIMS PROCESS
On January 20,2021 La Rosa del Monte delivered our belongings. Our TV's screen was completely shattered as if someone had stepped on it. We are also missing a big mirror for our dresser. I have been calling the Puerto Rico's Claims department since January 21 and to this day have not been able to reach anyone. They do not pick up the phone and have not responded to my emails. I haven't been able to start my claim let alone tell anyone about what is going on! I am afraid there is a timeframe to report claims and I could miss it just because they are completely unresponsive. UPON DELIVERING YOUR ITEMS THEY WILL QUICKLY GIVE YOU A FORM TO SIGN THAT WILL SPECIFICALLY HAVE YOU INITIAL AND SIGN THAT ALL TVS AND MIRROS WERE DELIVERED IN GOOD CONDITION AND THAT ALL ITEMS WERE DELIVERED IN GOOD CONDITION REGARDLESS IF YOU INSPECTED THEM OR NOT. DECLINE TO SIGN THIS DOCUMENT UNTIL YOU FULLY INSPECT ALL OF YOUR BELONGINGS.
It is honestly beyond me how this company is still in business and I will never recommend it to anyone. Do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with them, you will lose a lot of money and your sanity in the process. read more
