I was a client of La Rusa for several years, and unfortunately, the quality of their services has significantly declined over time. As the business expanded, new accountants joined every year, but each year their competence seemed to drop. In 2025, while filing my 2024 tax return with La Rusa, I asked for an explanation of the numbers and why my taxes were calculated a certain way. I was told they couldn't provide a consultation due to being too busy and not having enough time to respond to all clients. After I expressed my frustration, the owner of La Rusa (who also runs a blog on Instagram) called me. However, the call provided no useful information--just general tax advice that anyone could find online. When I tried to follow up, I was completely ignored. My messages received no replies, and all communication is documented. In the end, I received nothing: no completed tax return, no proper documentation--just vague numbers shared in a chat with no explanation. I eventually terminated my relationship with them and will be disputing the charge, especially since I've now received a letter from a collections agency. Their fees are also nearly double what most other tax professionals charge, and the service simply does not justify the price. It feels like they only care about making money, not about the quality of work or client satisfaction. I strongly do not recommend La Rusa, especially if you filed your taxes with them after 2024--that's when the decline became very noticeable. Be cautious and protect yourself from poor service. I called requesting old tax documents, and Kathy said she couldn't help me. She informed me that she knows I always call to have a duplicate sent to me. I was shocked because you have my information, so why can't I call to have copies forwarded to me? She said she would need to talk to her boss before she could help me resolve my issue. This company is fraudulent. Accountant Elina refused to discuss tax information; she took money for her services and refused to do the job. We only spoke once on the phone; when I reached out for the second time, Elina told me she had no time to discuss my tax information. When I reached out about a refund, I was told I would not receive any money back because Elina spent her time on me, which is absolutely not true, we only had one phone call, and no job was done. I contacted this company to find out one simple question (on the sending of declarations), Elina immediately said that her consultation will cost $150 for 30 minutes, I refused, as the question was really elementary. But what was my surprise when a couple of days later she was demonstratively answering dozens of other, much more complicated questions for free on Instagram. My friend just wasn't answered for a long time, and when he wrote to them about their unprofessionalism, they just blocked him. Absolutely unprofessional! Every time I tried to contact the company, different people kept respond me. One of them her son Daniel, who couldn't read and had hard time in understand how many W2 forms I sent to them. Finally the owner said she would be doing my tax preparation. She took $175 upfront and stopped responding, she was never returning my calls or responding to my emails. Finally I found another CPA and asked Elina how much I had to pay her. She did not respond as well, as did not send the receipt that she filed my taxes or not. Now I got a letter from collection agency that I owe her $200. She was upset that I found another company and reported me to collection without sending the bill or the receipt of filing. She is rude, unprofessional and dishonest person who try represent herself as a busy person and a successful business woman on facebook. It was a bit weird experience. They didn't file my tax return in time, postponed tax filing but didn't let me know about it. I figured this out only when called them a week later than the due date. They said your tax return has been postponed. A few weeks later called them to figure out when they will be filing my tax. They said it was already filed. Now I'm dealing with a penalty. I have never seen more intrigue in my life than in Linderman's office. Having sent all the papers in order to replenish taxes, I waited for 3 days, so I called the office every day and every oaz told me that they would call back. On the fourth day, I was sent a letter stating that Lmnderman could not resolve this issue with the IRS, and I need to contact a lawyer in my state. I do not mind, I already had no desire to communicate Linderman did not write in the rules, but maybe it was written, but I did not find on her website that communication through her secretary. Moreover after the letter I got a call from her office. I was busy and very surprised because everything was detailed described in the letter. but after a few hours I called back to clarify why they called after the letter. The secretary answered me in an unpleasant manner, that I called them in the office after the lettre. This is not true, rudeness and lies! Was looking for a local tax preparer to do our taxes, and we walked in to ask a few questions... We were there less than an hour, most of which was spent not talking about taxes. At the end of our consult, and after having seen what my husband makes, we were given a bill for $200 and given minimal information which we could have gotten on our own. She mentioned she would reach out to give me additional information once she researched it, but have not heard from her since. We were very disappointed to say the least, and she most definitely lost our business, not to mention referrals. Your response below is exactly why we will never do business with someone who lacks honesty and integrity. To give you the benefit of the doubt, I did check my spam and there was nothing from you aside from the fact that you agreed to call me, not send an email. (I got your bill just fine BTW, can't imagine why this wouldn't go through) Suppose you did send an email, wouldn't you follow up with a call if you haven't heard from me?
