Seriously the worst, she over charges. She charged $1400 to alter a gown. Con artist who will not itemize what she has done and holds wedding gowns for ransom . What kind of person tells a bride that she is sick of looking at her dress? Instant reason to cry for an already stressful event. Of course we paid because we had to get the dress back. I brought a bridesmaid dress here that was accidentally ordered one size too large. She made this thing fit like a glove. She is super nice, professional, fast and fairly priced. I've also had pants done here, and the hems held up for years. It can be a bit difficult to find her shop, it's off Route 79 after Marlboro High School but before the Shell gas station (on the right if you're coming from the high school). read more

This is the second time I've had to type this, so I'll keep it short: Pros: Sunny is a miracle worker. She did so much to my wedding dress. I looked flawless and so did my mom (she altered her dress as well). We still get compliments on the dresses. Cons: She got four stars for two reasons. One - her work wasn't cheap, not by a long shot. Everyone has different budgets, I know, and I didn't have a tiny budget coming into alterations. I also understand wedding dresses need more work on them, take longer to alter, and are usually of special material. She had to do a French bustle, take in the bust, let out the hips, and put an applique on. I get it a million times...I sew myself (just not at her level) and I know it takes time. However, I definitely paused when she gave me the final payment amount. Good work, but it didn't come cheaply. She also made a comment that I didn't appreciate at my final fitting. I actually left angry. I got over it, but I remember it vividly. She's an example of 'you get what you pay for'. Once the sting of the price wore off, and I got the pictures back, I realized it was worth every penny. read more

I had a bridesmaid dress altered here, and an Adriana Papell dress that I could have worn again has been ruined. All I needed was a hem and she did it too short. During the fitting when she was marking it I addressed the fact that I thought it would be too short, but she told me that this is how it needs to be done. After charging me $150 bucks when I picked it up and I put it on and my ankles were showing! This was supposed to be an elegant long gown. She also hemmed the underlying layer 2 inches shorter than the beaded top sheer layer so the dress now also looked different than everyone else. Im so sad about it and the price was outrageous! It should have been perfect for that price. The other bridesmaids got a perfect hem for half the price somewhere else. (I should've went with them) - ALSO during my initial fitting, someone else came in to pick up their dress and the customer was furious that the price being billed was not the price she was originally quoted. She ended up paying over $150 as well. read more

My first experience was having a strapless beaded dress taken in for my daughter's wedding. It was a lot of work and I told myself to be prepared for a good job, but not perfect. To my delight it was perfect. And not only was the fit exactly right, all the beads that fell off during the alteration were sewn back on. To top it off, the price I was charged was less than half of what I expected to pay. My second experience was a bit more routine with the exception of cutting a skirt down from a size 14 to a size 4. Again all the items were done exactly as I wanted. Its a 45 minute drive for me one way, but I won't go anywhere else anymore. read more

I had been referred to this tailor 3-years ago and I haven't gone to anyone else since. La Tailor is very talented and well worth her work. I have had bridesmaids dresses requested to be taken-in, altered in length and she has even fastened on cleverly hidden garment materials to either prevent your undergarments from revealing themselves or to help properly hang your gown. This is a quality tailor who I will continue to go to and refer her work. read more

As recommended by The Curvy Bride bridal salon, I visited Sunny for my wedding dress alterations and was on a tight schedule with less than 2 months until my wedding. Off the rack, my dress fit well in most areas but needed to have the tulle/lace illusion neckline taken up a bit a bustle added as well. This is a very very small shop and often other clients stopped in without an appointment during the time I was scheduled to see her on a Saturday morning. This was frustrating when you have a short amount of time, there are pins being stuck to you, 6 impatient people watching in the same room as you waiting for poor Sunny to drop everything since they decided to just pop in unannounced (for things like months-away prom dress alterations). For the remaining 3 fittings (of 4) I saw her during the week and had a much better experience and had her full attention. She had quoted the store owner of the Curvy Bride a certain price for the alterations needed, however, after my first fitting she relented that it would cost a bit more (~15%) since seeing how the dress fit me. I was a little upset that it would cost more than quoted and at the rushed weekend appointment but after all was said and done, she did a fantastic job and the dress fit like a dream!
