This is a relatively new French cafe/patisserie that has opened up on Holloway Road. They don't have a huge selection of cakes or breads, but they feature a daily changing selection of sweet items that can include cake, choux pastry, tarts (both French and American inspired), drizzles and sponges.
I've popped in quite a few times now to check it out and treat myself, both sitting in and taking away and I've been fairly impressed with the quality of the food here. The cakes are always beautiful to look at, and better to eat. Never overbaked, full of flavour or zest if that's what you've gone for, and no soggy bottoms in sight. They're not the most incredible cakes you can get in London, but they're certainly the best on Holloway Road that I've had so far!
The coffee here is better than average but not incredible, but again, best on the north side of Holloway Road that I've tried so far.
I've not had a chance to try the savoury items on their menu but they look good, fresh and well priced for what I've seen so far.
Price wise, cakes and coffee are around £2 each, with savoury items ranging from £7 upto £10 or thereabouts.
One of my favourite places to pop into on Holloway Road, and very much welcome in this area of the road particularly! read more
