Not only is Akoni an incredibly talented musician who creates the perfect Maui vibe, he is also just an unbelievably genuine and gracious person. Every time we saw him perform, he made a point to come over, say hi, and spend a little time with our family. My wife, son and I were traveling with my brother and his family, who had met Akoni previously at Nanea. Akoni remembered my nephew from their last trip and got to meet my son and niece for the first time. All of the kiddos absolutely loved him and his music, which made those moments even more special for all of us. His music is exactly what you hope to hear while you're in Maui - relaxed, uplifting, fun, and full of aloha.
