As far as French restaurants go, this is just about as good as it gets. Run by an all-star named Arnaud Donckele (one of the youngest people to win a third Michelin star in history), La Vague D'Or's mission is to evoke the flavors and traditions of Provence and the Mediterranean. In a phrase, they absolutely nail it. SERVICE Forget about the stand-offish, rude stereotype that haunts many fine French restaurants. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, my American self and British colleague felt entirely at home and were treated very warmly. The servers and sommeliers were conversational, helpful, and clearly incredibly passionate about their work. In an usual move, we were offered a tour of the kitchen at the end. Truly unforgettable. DECOR The hotel that this restaurant is a part of (Residences de la Pinede) is beautiful enough that they'll have to drag you away. Seated right on the water with a gorgeous infinity pool, the multiple hues of blue from the Med, the pool, and the gorgeous sky will make you doubt you'll have the strength to leave. I have quite honestly never been to a more beautiful place in all of my life. FOOD With very few exceptions, this place knocked every one of the many dishes they put in front of us out of the park. Some high points include a sea bass dish with an enormous mix of Provençal vegetables, and several remixes of a chocolate and raspberry dessert. For a dorky course-by-course, go here: ow.ly/RaVO303FWBF If you're near St. Tropez, just go.

Food was excellent. Service was on par with what you would expect. Loved the decor…read more Only complaint: it was quite warm and humid so they handed us some generic white fans to cool ourselves off...then they proceeded to ask for them back when we left because other guests would need them. Soooooo TACKY! Lol they didn't even say Dior or anything. Literally, generic white paper fans. We had a party of 7 spending probably about $800 Euro and you couldn't let us take your Temu fans(not even Amazon)? get.it.together.(snapping on the periods).

For cafe Dior it seems like you can wait for seats to open up and if timing works out then you might be lucky enough to get seated. Service was a tad slow, not particularly luxurious feeling, and they had the audacity to emphasize that if their service was a good then to add gratuity. The price btw was already exorbitant so we really were not expecting an additional tip that was not warranted. Overall a very mid experience and would not recommend. It wasn't that nice in there, especially with only one bathroom, the wait could be quite long. On a hot day, eating at cafe Dior truly wasn't a good experience as we were sweating bullets. So we ended up spending 112 euros one two desserts, two juices and two waters. We begrudgingly added tip on top after as well because we were honestly put on the spot. Tip on top probably brought us to about a $150 USD meal. It was a joke.
