Labcorp Montclair Location receives another 5 Yelp Stars! Recently came here for some blood work. The facility is very clean. Check-in is really easy with your QR code. (Always best to make an appointment via your app.) Waiting time in reception area was less than two minutes. A young woman took some intake information from me. She was very good. Sorry, I didn't catch her name. A young lady named Blue took my blood. She was highly proficient withdrawing blood. In addition, she had an absolutely wonderful personality. Think, I was in and out of the facility in less than 15 to 20 minutes. Labcorp shares their parking area with a few other businesses. However, you're going always able to get a spot. There is a sizeable parking lot, which is nice. I do wish my doctor could have sent the paperwork in instead of me bringing a printed copy which seemed old school. There weren't a lot of early appointments, as when I had to reschedule because of weather I had to wait 2 weeks to get an appointment before 10 am (since you have to fast before blood work). But once I arrived early, I was able to be seen earlier, so appointments seem more like a guideline. The woman at the front just pointed to a machine to check in at, which seemed like she could have just done it, but okay. An email had a QR code to scan, but the chance to never came up. The phlebotomist was efficient, and the process was painless. It only took a few minutes once I was admitted. To complete my doctor's request, it was a pretty easy process. read more

Receptionist was great. Place definitely understaffed, but that's due to the corporation. My main problem is the Phlebotomist that drew my blood. The Phlebotomist used a straight hypodermic needle (which is ok, standard), but moved the needle up and down significantly in my arm every time she changed a vial to take more blood. Having had a lot of bloodwork done throughout my lifetime, I can say that is the most painful blood draw I've ever had, and the most inefficient. It didn't need to be at all, and it made me upset knowing that it didn't have to be that painful. No glove change after touching the computer and then my arm. Retraining possibly needed. Needless to say, I will go to my local labcorp center instead. read more

I don't review too many places on Yelp. I find myself coming here to review places after very good or very bad experiences. But LabCorp on Montclair is a perfectly fine place to get blood drawn. The staff has always been the most pleasant, polite, positive people in any medical / doctor's office. I've only been a handful of times so there's the chance that I got lucky. And not every visit has been perfect - but it's a lab, what do you want? I just thought they deserved a little positive words. Working with customers all day isn't easy. read more

I need to have blood tested every 3 months and this place is the BEST. Simple check in, just scan your driver's license staff is nice and accommodating. I am in and out in maybe 10 minutes. Today Saturday 17, 2020, I went to the Montclair Labcorp office at Essex county. I checked in at 10:00 a.m, I was giving the instructions as per covid 19 guidelines. I waited until 10:30 a.m. No one reached out to us. I went in again and was told by a technician to wait for a phone call, which I did. At 11:00 a.m., we noticed that the lights were turned off, and the doors closed. Three technicians walked out of the office with their personal belongings and locked the front door. Therefore, I am unsure of how many people were left unattended, beside me, waiting in their cars. I was with my husband and my child, who was supposed to get tested. He was very anxious about the testing. We are very upset about what happened. read more

Had an 8:15 appointment (that I was able to make online) Arrived at 8:13 and had blood drawn at 8:16. Out the door by 8:19. Staff was very friendly except for the woman extracting my blood. Ignored me when I said Hi or Bye. Actually she was in such a rush, she frightened me, but needless to say - it was quick and painless. read more

Montclat missed a very important test, after making an appointment and then waiting 6 mints to see this specialist doctor. My doctor visit was for nothing as the doctors did not have my currant information for her to advise me. I inform LabCorp who acknowledged the error. was just here today with my daughter a 2 grandsons, 2/12 & 1 years old, because they are suppose to be pediatric specialist for blood work. Don't your children hear there is NO engagement by any of the staff to make a child feel comfortable, no attempt to distract them from what is going on, the 2 yearold had to watch the tubes fill up while he cried. the 1 year old had the first needle cause the blood to pool under his skin and never got any blodd from the second needle that was moved around in his arm. Staff was very friendly and punctual. But a lot of blood was drawn from my teenage daughter and they should have kept her longer after and given her some juice and snack to get her blood sugar back up. I had no idea they were going to take so much blood and she nearly fainted on way to car. read more

I will never step foot in this place ever again. This was my second visit and if it weren't so close to my job, I would have never gone back a second time. They are rude, disrespectful, and generally not nice to anyone, not even to each other. There was one person ahead of me, and I was a walk-in, and they were able to take me after about 7 minutes of waiting. Get back there and tell them that the dr faxed over my prescription and she flips through the pile like it's a magazine and tells me it's not there. Then I call my dr's office back to refax it, just to find out that this office ran out of toner. No one, NO ONE! there knew how to change the toner. So they call tech support and the woman can't follow the instructions the guy is giving her, so working in tech support myself, I try and help her from across the counter and she blows me off. She screwed it up so bad that there was toner everywhere. She got fed up and walked out on me and yelled to the office that she was going to lunch. THEN, I'm told it could take 5 minutes to an hour or more to get a tech to change the toner. If you can't even change the toner in the printer, what makes you think I'm going to let you take my blood?! So I up and left. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. read more

I went in without an appointment. I was under the impression from the doctor that I would need one. Anyway, this is the fastest I have ever had a lab processing done ever. They are a very fast and efficient team. It was also the least painful blood drawing experience that I have ever had; clearly they're professionals. Glad that I came to this location. read more

Firstly, there was no wait and it was easy to sign-in. They also sent the results quickly to my dermatologist. However, the phlebotomist did the worst job drawing blood. I went on Monday and everything seemed fine. Yet when I inspected the vein later at work, there was a long scratch below the vein. About two days later, a bruise developed and the area around my vein is now blue and not distinct as it had been before. My theory is that the phlebotomist drew the needle upwards while taking it out of my arm, thereby puncturing my vein even more and scratching my arm. It is now Sunday and I can still feel a sharp pain in my vein, the blue bruise will not go away, and I can barely type this without feeling a stabbing pain. I have never had such an experience with a phlebotomist, and I have never had a scratch under the vein. I am not sure how long it will take for my vein to heal. Stay away! read more

The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Why 4 stars? Their costumer service over the phone is not good at all (well, I didn't have a good experience while asking some questions I had before going in). The first phlebotomist was terrible and had to stick me three times before calling a senior person in to draw my blood properly on the first try. Multiple bruising and sore arms is what I woke up to the following morning. My apt was 10am I showed up at 9:45 and didn't leave until 11. The whole time all they cared about was me signing a credit card authorization form. I would not recommend going here. read more

Not the friendliest place. Nurse needed both arms for a simple INR, When I asked why, she showed me her vial that was "only" 95% full. Having done hundreds of these I know that technically it can be done with only two drops of blood. read more

I have to agree with the previous reviews from Brian D., Meg B., Stephanie N. and so forth. To date my husband and my daughter have had the same experiences. Three times over! My daughter is missing time from school and they tell my husband "that they never received the RX from my daughter's doctor for the blood work". The doctor's office has always sent it and they are nasty! How do people get away with this. This place should be shut down! I feel bad for people who are seriously sick and have to be treated poorly or incompetent staff who cannot draw blood. read more

Pretty much the rudest medical staff I've experienced. Facility is grungy. Wait time is long. Personnel is cranky and understaffed. Lots of shouting to/at patients. Overall a stressful experience even if you're not afraid of getting blood drawn. read more

I made a last minute appointment online to have routine bloodwork drawn. Making the appointment on the website was easy. Checking in at the kiosks in the waiting room was easy. I had a very good experience at Labcorp this morning. I was taken in at the scheduled appointment time and found the staff courteous and efficient! Avoid this lab if you have any need for pediatric testing. They need training in how to deal with kids. My toddle was stick twice and they move the niddle while it was inside just trying to get his vein. after this my toddler cried for haft a hour in pain. there is bruising, he can pearly move his arms, and they send me back to doctor without completing the test . At this point I was so frustrated that i felt like crying with my child. read more

If I could give this lab 0 stars I would. I have been to many labcorps and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I was the first person in line at 7:00AM by 7:25 they still had NOT seen one customer. As we were waiting a woman who seemed to have worked there told all of the customers that we should complain to the manager because they were currently fully staffed and not one person had been seen. After the unfriendly exchange at the front desk where they asked for my paperwork I was told to wait in one of the rooms, as I waited you could overhear the lab staff having a conversation while several people waited to have blood drawn (?!) I guess it makes sense that they need a "coffee break" at 7:25 in the morning when they have not yet done anything. To make matters worse l took the paperwork home with me because nobody mentioned that I should be providing it to the lab technician. I received an angry voicemail asking to call them back, I called back several times and not one person answered the phone. AGAIN they were fully staffed! Finally I just dropped off my paperwork and was barely acknowledged at the front desk. AWFUL customer service, awful experience, unfriendly, unprofessional staff. read more

DO NOT use this location unless your insurance requires you to do so. i was on chemo for 6 months & have been going to this lab corp for 5 months. i have contacted the district manager 2 times thus far. if things don't improve i will contact better business bureau & pay out of pocket elsewhere. here's what you should expect at this location. employees who don't know how to type in a standard weekly cbc test. people who are rude & disrespectful to clients & may raise their voice at you. people who dont even know how to log into the lab corp computer. people who will lose your faxxes from dr. for cbcs. people who will shred your drs. prescription w/out permission.people who will refuse to call your dr. for a fax to be resent. people who will refuse to look into filing cabinet for your standing order & insurance info. people who will not bandage their own open cut. people who will ridicule you for wearing latex gloves when you have no immune system,low cbcs. people who won't label the blood vials properly. people who will hit the nerve not vein. both of my veins are popped & hurt constantly. also my dr. & i even have trouble getting a blood pressure reading. thus always ask for a butterfly set-up w/ a smaller needle. people who hide in the back room,thus it takes 45 minutes to service 2 people. very unhappy,rude,unprofessional employees who need retraining. dirty walls,dirty toilets occassionaly w/ blood on walls. once they actually hit the nerves in my vein so hard i was weeping and blood was dripping from their guaze bandage which had to be redone. people who will tell you to go to another lab corp if you don't like their location. if you call this a service....i know not!!!!! read more

I made an appointment-Please MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! Because I had one I was ushered in within 5 minutes of signing in but i left in my wake 15 angry people who'd been sitting for over 30 minutes because they were walk-ins. The admissions process took 5 minutes than I waited 3 minutes for blood work. The woman was excellent-painless and got it all on first shot (first x that every happened to me!). In at 12:10 out at 12:20. Success. The address for building is strange - it is in the building that houses Gymnasium - there is parking-both free and coin if lot is full. read more

Awful place. Stay away at all costs. Staff are lacking in professional manner and their silks are questionable - absurd for work of this importance. On my first visit I needed to have blood drawn and the young woman could not insert the needle properly. I've never had a problem before with finding a vein; it was painful - at one point causing me to pull my arm away. At least that staff person was apologetic. On my second, and last, visit to this location I had to drop off some specimen bottles. An already uncomfortable thing to have to do. Front desk staff person gave some rude attitude until she saw that I had health insurance and then things were fine. She told me to take the sample package to the second curtain on the left. A man was standing there so I waited a bit, not wanting to jump the line. I noticed he did not have anything in his hand so I asked if he was dropping anything off and pointed to the "drop specimens here" sign above his head. He said no, he was waiting for the phlebotomist. There were three phlebotomists all behind curtains at work drawing blood from patients. I then saw a staff person pulling on purple gloves in the last door on the left. To make a long story somewhat shorter I asked for help and got a response as if I had committed a crime, with the high point being her yelling "put it in the damn box!" I said I was asking a question politely and could she please answer politely. Eventually she finally told me which box. When I asked her name she turned her body so that I could not read her name tag and she said she would not tell me her name. When I went up front, the staff were helpful and sympathetic that this person was a known problem and they told me her name - supposedly. I called the location supervisor and reported the incident. She was very responsive, courteous and professional. However, she said that the name I gave her was not the person who was working in the back area at the time - that staff have to sign in for that station and it was another woman. Totally sketchy - either the staff were trying to blame someone else or the woman who was rude to me signed in after the fact with someone else's name. Either way, now I will not trust the lab results. They should close the location down. read more
