Like the majority of the hospitals in PR if being admitted you need to bring your own pillow, quilt, toothpaste, soap, powder, wipes and lotion which I found so odd because the hospitals in NYC provide all that. I was visiting my great-uncle which was very ill and eventually die so this review is about that experience. I stood overnight with my uncle and in no time did they offered me a couch to sleep in. Had to sleep in a chair. When it was time for visiting hours they only had ONE chair per patient so imagine at one point my uncle had more than eight in the room and only one chair. It was torture!! The food was very good and the Doctors were very attentive. The Nurses on staff were awesome. So kind and loving towards my uncle which to me that was big plus. The hospital not only this one but all the hospitals in PR need to be updated in their technical operations. All is still done by paper which I found that odd too. Anyway, I hope that I never end up in any hospitals in PR. I'm so used to the good quality hospitals of NY that I won't know what or how to feel in I end up sick here in PR. My trip has ended and I'm so glad to be back home in America.

This was one of the most concerning healthcare experiences my family has ever had. I strongly urge…read moreothers to think carefully before seeking treatment here. My autistic son experienced a severe behavioral and medical emergency. We were told he had signs that could indicate serious complications, including possible kidney failure and even a heart attack, yet we were informed that he would not receive the IV treatment he needed unless we paid $2,500 upfront. The emergency department appeared severely overcrowded, with patients waiting in hallways. During our time there, we struggled to get basic assistance, including blankets and a place to sit. The overall level of communication, compassion, and urgency we experienced was deeply disappointing. We also waited an extremely long time for test results, and I left feeling that if someone had a truly life-threatening condition, delays like these could have devastating consequences. Thankfully, after returning to New Jersey, I immediately took my son to the emergency room. He was thoroughly evaluated and, fortunately, was found to be stable and in a safe condition. No family should have to worry about whether financial barriers or delays in care will prevent their loved one from receiving emergency treatment. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this facility.

--- Horrible hospital. Their security is a joke. They tell visitors to share a singular visitor pass and to pass around their identification to other people. A patient could be dying and they don't allow family to say goodbye, other than two at a time. My grandmother was here on oxygen and when they hooked her up to the wall oxygen, the line failed after a minute and she was left with no air. After raising a ruckus and bringing up the problem FIVE TIMES, they finally brought in an oxygen tank. Later the same day, at night the next shift of staff MADE THE SAME MISTAKE. My uncle asked to move her to a different room, and the other room was in bad condition. The quality of care leaves much to be desired, at least for immunocompromised patients, for whom palliative care should the priority.
