The lactation lady knows her stuff! We experienced several on-staff consultants while my wife was recovering in the hospital from her C Section with our first baby. We had were met with limited success, they all gave use the same tips and moreover, no one gave us the real deal on when to pump and when to supplement. Meanwhile, our baby was drying out! I contacted several lactation specialists as we prepared to leave the hospital. A few responded (one demanded a non-refundable Dow payment for the consult). Our son was born premature and spent three weeks in the NICU. Our 1 month old went on a nursing strike, and we called Jenn to help us figure out what was going on. Is it possible to give more than 5 stars?? I had my son last week and we were really struggling with latching. Every single nurse assigned to me tried to help us latch to no avail. We even had not one, but two consults with the IBCLCs at the hospital but for one reason or another, we couldn't get a good latch. I messaged Jennifer in the middle of the night requesting information about an in home consult. When I woke up the next morning, she had responded and she tried to help me get covered through insurance. It took me a day to get back to her because my insurance couldn't be run until the next business day but she followed up with me and once that was sorted she made herself available to me within the hour. She was able to get my son to latch and offered me tons of tips, tricks, information, resources and samples. She has since checked in with me everyday, multiple times a day seeing how we're doing and offering encouragement. I would absolutely recommend her and will be scheduling multiple follow ups with her in the near future. If you're a struggling mama, do yourself a favor and book her. Jen is wonderful. I was so nervous having to call in a lactation consultant, as this was my first child and I had no idea what to expect or what I was doing. Jen was so easy to talk to and was so great with my baby, that I was immediately put at ease. She gave me a lot of pointers on techniques to help with latching, and my baby has been successfully breastfeeding ever since. She worked with my struggle with lower supply and never pressured me into doing anything that was going to be detrimental to my mental well-being. When pumping multiple times a day was just too overwhelming for me, she never passed judgement, but met me where I was. I ended up combo feeding my baby and am still successfully maintaining my supply doing that to this day, even after going back to work full time.
