However! The doctors, PA's, nurses and staff are worth it!!! Dr. Gaines called me on his day off to ask me how I was doing! Dr. Snead came into my room, after I had already seen the PA, on my first appointment to introduce himself and welcome me to the area. (My family just moved here from Augusta, GA). Almost every time (because sometimes they are extremely busy) I call up to the Anniston or Oxford office I get a friendly voice who answers and my question answered or a call back within a timely manner with said question answered. You need to understand CARES clinics are busy for a reason... I will wait because I do not want to go anywhere else. I have the best doctors and PA's here!!

I was the second person through the door of Anniston Cares at 7:30. I was expecting a Covid test in the back even though I had a negative home test last night. After 30 minutes they swabbed me and said they would call. After 45 minutes I tried to call them. No answer. I walked around to the front and asked if they had forgotten me. She said I couldn't be in the building unless they had negative test results. Back to the car. I asked a passing swabber what was going on that I had waited an hour and a half. She replied that they should have told me to go home and someone would call me. Still waiting. Why is it that I can go anywhere I want without a mask except their office? Why does it take over an hour to get Covid test result---- make that almost 2 and a half now. Why won't they accept my home test result from 8 hours earlier? I have been going to Cares for over 30 years, but I will be looking for a new doctor.

I went to see him to get my medication renewed but he/nurse did not renew all my medication, and especially the one I take for gout, which I told his nurse and him I was out of And now, surprise they are closed on Friday, so don't get sick on Friday and I'm out of my medication. He also gets frustrated whenever you take too much of his time talking to him especially if you only go once per year. He has act turned out to be a very big disappointment, now he has signs posted rules and regulations (dos and don't) all over the off office that it takes two weeks to get prescriptions refilled. I hope this review helps since this was our latest experience with Dr. Robert Cater. We will be looking for a primary care doctor. Shannon C.

I removed my entire family from the practice for lack of professionalism…read more Doctor Cater is a wonderful doctor. However, the staff that he has hired is completely unprofessional including the front desk. The issue has occurred on several occasions with multiple appointments. I attempted to professionally voice my concerns to the office manager and the office manager, Brooke stated that she was not going to listen to me complain and proceeded to disconnect the call. I never raised my tone to the staff, nor became abusive in speech. However, I was disappointed that I was disregarded while voicing my concerns. My expectation was to be heard out so that the proper conversation could be had with the lowering staff. I moved to Alabama in 2020 and came across Dr. Cater's office by search of several reviews for local offices. I did notice not so good reviews, however wanted to give the office my own judgement based on my own experience. I have had two wellness visits upon being a patient with Dr. Cater. The first wellness visit, even though I have had insurance, I was billed for. I called my insurance to later find out that the wrong code had been submitted in the system, resulting in me being billed. I had to speak with the billing staff and my insurance company several times to get it corrected. I voiced my concern that there was no reason for me to be receiving a bill. If you are familiar with billing and coding, you cannot be a digit off, or it will be billed incorrectly. Countless phone calls, and finally able to get it corrected. The year later, second occasion, and a routine wellness visit. The day before my appointment, I received a phone call from the office front desk and spoke with (lady who refused to provide her name when I later asked to submit this review) she confirmed my appointment with me. By her, I was ironically asked if I was getting a cholesterol test completed, which I stated no to. We ended the call with what I thought was a mutual understanding that it was a regular routine wellness visit. Went to my appointment as scheduled. And received a bill yet again after the visit. I inquired about the bill to the office, and somehow I got billed for a cholesterol test that I never authorized. I called the billing office at Dr. Cater's, and my insurance company as well. I made the complaint the moment I got the bill to the office, and the issue was not resolved. I called again just a few months later due to the issue never being fixed. Spoke with Brooke again. In that call, I was told by Brooke to call the company who processed the labs to get the billing reference number. I refused to do so as that is the billing office job due to them sending the bill out incorrectly. Instead I called my insurance company was/is an awesome advocate. I also refused as that had been the second occurrence of being billed incorrectly. After speaking with both parties, the bill was getting corrected and rebilled. The billing manager later called me back from Dr. Cater's office to notify me that it was resubmitted. I attempted to express the issue there in that call of this being more than one occurrence, she rushed me off the phone once I mentioned leaving a review possibly if it isn't corrected. I did not have the time at that moment to fight to be heard in that moment. I ended up calling back because that is a serious issue regarding billing and coding. I called back to speak with the billing manager, Brooke, at Dr. Cater's office. The goal was to come to a resolution requesting that a conversation be had with the lowering staff that billing and coding be done correctly, but somehow Brooke decided to disregard me after only a few minutes into our talk. I was asked by Brooke, "What would you like for me or us to do about it?" I attempted to explain that there was nothing that could be done being that the bill is being resent for coding, except as a request that the staff be spoken to. To discuss the importance of correct coding and billing as professionals. I was not able to fully speak the full resolution before I was disregarded again. This time Brooke disconnected the call after I pushed to be heard and not disregarded as before. Respectfully I attempted to continue the call but Brooke refused and hung up. The issue is that I should not have to continue going down the same road and the same exact issue for every scheduled routine wellness visit. I would not be leaving a review and would be concerned about the reputation of the company had there been any kind of empathy on the staff's part. I received no apology or empathy for my time or valid concerns as a patient. Both me and my husband will be moving to another practice after this is all settled. Take aways: * Inquire about billing before the appointment and make sure staff are HIGHLY aware of why you are visiting their office. * Your insurance will advocate for you when it comes to their billing office. * Don't be afraid to ask questions prior to visit.

Seen this man for sixteen years. I have been dealing with anxiety and panic attack since I was 10…read moreyears old. This man put me on benzo's for anxiety and the panic attacks when I would see him he would ask me how I was doing with my anxiety. I would tell him sometimes it's worse than others. He would ask me how I was taking my medication. I told him I was taking it only as I needed it. He would say if you would take it as I prescribed then you would not be having problems with the anxiety and panic attacks. These medication's are not a cure they do not keep you from having anxiety nor do they keep you from having panic attacks. Hence the reason they are called attacks. But after arguing with this man countless times on different visits about this problem, I decided to start listening to him. He had me on 2 mg three times a day. I also had a huge red flag pop-up once when I was trying to get his prescription filled at a Walmart and they informed me they would not fill anything from Dr. Glenn Archibald. That should have spoke volumes to me really it did, but I ignored it to be honest. Three years ago now he ask a question to me that struck a cord, do you believe that Benzo's should only be given to patient's temporarily? Being a retired nurse my answer was absolutely yes he suddenly grabbed his notebook and started writing. I found myself as I have wanted to do for years, but now to his demand being winged off. So within a three month period I found myself going from 2 mg three times a day down to 2 mg twice a day that point it was time for me to see him again. Suddenly I went from 2 mg twice a day to 1 mg twice a day I knew after being on this medication for so many years, this was not a safe nor ethical decision. There was a point during the years that I was seeing him. I asked him about getting off of the benzo's, and his reply was you will be on this medication for the remainder of your life. Let me also add during this time of us discussing me coming off of the benzo's. I also tried everything known to man for anxiety. Nothing else worked except the benzo's unfortunately. Long story short, my father is on his deathbed. I am taking care of him till he passes. I am constantly going into panic attacks. I made a call to his office I was told he would not send anything for me, but he would set up for me to be canceled. At that point, I knew with this man being so uncaring, heartless, unethical in his treatment for patients that he supposedly cares so much about that I had to find somewhere else to go with someone else to see I was going through the hardest point of my life and my psychiatrist said to me basically he could not help me. I am still struggling trying to get completely away from this medication, am now down to 1 mg per day. I started this three years ago I wish I had never laid eyes on the first one. I do agree benzodiazepines should not be given to patients not even temporarily, but when you have been on those for 16 years and they are the only thing that works and if it's the only thing that works for you then it's the only thing that you can turn to and that's the big dilemma that I have found myself in unfortunately, but I have found somewhere else to go on someone else to see I used to thank God for Dr. Glenn Archibald now I wish to God I had never met him! If I continue to go with my gut instinct and do what I felt, I knew was best for me because we as the patient know our bodies better than our doctors do, but if I had only listened to my gut instinct and not to this doctor I would not be in this situation I'm in today and have been in the hell that I have been going through for the past three years so to any of you that are as much as thinking of seeing him, run do not walk, RUN! Find you someone that cares someone that is ethical someone that is trustworthy and that will listen to you and I mean honestly listen to you and will not try to force what they think you should be doing even when you find yourself knowing in your heart this is wrong. We have to keep in mind. These people are doctors. They are not God and those who put themselves in the category of having a God complex should not be practicing.

I'm paranoid schizophrenia with psychosis with PTSD. Homicidal ideation and sociopath tendencies. I'm considered a THREAT to society‼ If it wasn't for this Doctor, Mr. David and Mr Rick, I wouldn't be here‼ I don't have any problems with medication being refilled or getting an appointment‼ You'll have to realize he's only 1 doctor that comes only once a week to service over a hundred patients‼ His ( Bedside manners) never disappoints me. I have Tardive dyskinesia from the Psych meds. That doesn't come from no fault of Dr. Archibald and you have to see a neurologist to treat that condition.
