I was not impressed. The bed I laid on was very gross. No covering, sheet, or pillow case. So I just laid my head on a pillow that so many others have. Staff was kind. But I went for a lash lift and there is ZERO difference in my lashes. I'm very disappointed. I've had lash lifts before at other locations with immediate results. Two months before my membership was scheduled to renew, I let them know I didn't want to renew. Still, the next month after my completed year, my account was charged for another payment. It's been five months of back-and-forth emails and phone calls with Kelley Andersen and LAE, and I'm disgusted. I had an appt for a lash refill about a week ago and told the gal exactly what kind I get. I WAS 4 minutes late to my appt and called ahead to check with the gal to make sure that would be okay. The girl was super friendly and nice but did not give me the hybrid fill I had made the appt for and said if she had more time that she could fill more in. She was sweet, but there's no way she could've done what I was scheduled for with 4 more minutes. Unfortunately she must have double booked herself or was upset that I came 4 minutes late after she said it would be okay. I have been a customer with LAE Beauty Bar for over 6 months, with my last service being 2 days ago and have received many of their amazing services to include tanning, waxing and eyelash extensions/fills. We all understand the dreaded waxing and I am just the worst but Kelly and Samantha are amazing and gentle! Samantha did my first eye lash extensions at the first of February and I hope I will never have to be without them. She did such an amazing job!! It is such a difference and so nice not having to put on layer and layer of mascara. Samantha and Kelly have both provide services for my eye lash fills and are hands down the absolute best! I've seen both Kelly and Sammy for lash extensions and brow wax/tint. Both ladies did a great job! They are efficient and skilled. No burning from glue like I've had at other places. A 45 min refill lasts me a good 3 weeks. I can't imagine life without lashes, they make my AM routine so much faster as I no longer have to wear mascara. Helpful front desk service staff, very friendly on the phone and provided great info on services offered answering all my questions. Place is a little cluttered up front with odds and ends scattered, lots of inventory that seemed forgotten (Christmas sales still out March?). The mystic room was clean but necessities like towels and wipes needed restocking. Mystic tan was very popular so there was a wait time & you can't make an appointment. I have been using LAE for my spray tans for a few years. Recently went to another spray tan location in a different town. Boy was I surprised when they actually had a LARGE blowing fan where you could actually stand & dry yourself & dry your back too. NOT a small cheap broken blow dryer which LAE has. The room at LAE needs a sprucing up!! It is a bit dirty. When the person spraying you enters the room the door is open to a hallway where people could look in while you are standing in all your glory. LAE NEEDS TO EXPLORE OTHER TANNING SALONS & SEE WHAT IS OUT THERE THAT IS NEW & BE ON TOP OF THE BEST! Clean up the room, buy a giant drying fan, & somehow give your clients more privacy! read more

I have a few complaints. Earlier this month my fiancé wrote a review that complained about the TURBO bed having multiple bulbs out and loose/unplugged bulbs in the TURBO. These loose bulbs have not been removed. To me, this says maintenance/safety isn't be taken that seriously... It was noted from the owner in her response that it was decided the week prior to Evan's complaint that "EVERY client who currently has a turbo membership will be compensated by LAE adding back every day for the days that the turbo was not 100%." First off, I purchased my one-month TURBO membership on March 3rd, at that time I was NEVER notified about the TURBOs condition and/or any compensation for this. It was not until I read the owner's comment that I found out about being compensated. Not one office staff member told me that I was going to be compensated. I was only told AFTER Evan's comment that the TURBO was working but not at 100%. Again nothing was mentioned about compensation for this. I believe it was at that session I went tanning and it seemed REALLY short- not the full "TURBO tan- get an excellent tan in 10 minutes". So I decided to time my next session. I got ready to enter the tanning booth, opened my phone's stopwatch, started the timer, hopped into the booth, and pressed the tanner's start button for my 10 minute session. Then when the lights went out I got out quickly and stopped my timer.... 8 minutes and 23 seconds. I then asked Gina at the front desk, who has been extremely helpful and sold me my membership, if the beds timer was clocked as "real" minutes. She said yes- then I brought it to her attention that the session I just had was only 8 minutes. As I was, she was surprised by this information. I came the next day and Gina stated that she would watch the timer and add any minutes that I did not receive in a session right after the lights went out. I decided to time my session again. So my session ended and I waited for the timer to start counting down to indication a new session had been entered. When the booth did not start counting down I grabbed my phone and stopped my stopwatch. 6 minutes and 33 seconds!!! I do appreciate Gina's effort in trying to get me the extra time, unfortunately, it seemed as though the booth wanted to cool down before starting another session. I went again today and timed my session again. Rounding up, it was 7 minutes. I asked the staff members at the front desk about what the compensation regarding the TURBO entailed. They stated that individuals will get added time at the end of their membership and that they have been telling TURBO members but haven't covered everyone yet. I have been there 5+ times since Evan's complaint and (again) I was never told about the compensation. I then brought up the time issue to the staff members there and they had not heard about it. They did say they would watch it and see if they have the same issue. Honestly, at this rate, I do not want additional time/sessions added to my membership. I would like a refund. I am paying $20 MORE for the TURBO membership and not only is the booth missing bulbs (which was never mentioned) but I'm not even getting the full time! read more

Turbo bed has multiple holes where bulbs should be, and several bulbs in the door that are not connected, but just rattling around loose in the cage waiting to break and cause a safety issue. When I told two staff members about this not only did they claim to be unaware (showing how rarely they actually inspect their equipment) but also were very vague about a repair timeline. When I told them that $59 dollars a month is a lot to pay for equipment that isn't working properly they simple responded "yeah, I get it..." No offer to compensate, no apology, they just acted like I was being an inconvenience. Will not be giving them anymore money. read more

I have been going to this beauty bar for over 13 years... and the quality just keeps getting better. It's the perfect blend of sexy meets medical professionalism. All their treatments (tanning, airbrush, eyelash extensions, facials, and even more intense beauty procedures) are all done under professional supervision. I've had my eyelashes done and loved them- absolutely no issues with my eyes. I also like to look tan but due to my pale skin, the consultants advised me to try airbrushing because it's much safer on my fair skin and honestly I've never looked back! The staff makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. That's one thing that scares me with beauty salons but not here. They have amazing deals all the time too- VIP packages, etc that are totally worth the money. They never push products on you and have a "store" full of goodies that sells itself. I highly recommend LAE. I won't go anywhere else. Between the staff, quality and variety of services- you just can't beat it!! read more

I only have experience with the MediSpa part of Lae Beauty. After paying a $140 consultation fee to speak to a "medical director", I was given a prescription for an appetite suppressant and told to come in once a week for a vitamin b12 shot so I could lose 10-15 pounds very quickly. I was told the script would be ready the next day, and that shots were given Tuesdays and Thursdays, no appointment needed. When I went in to pick up the script the next day, it was not ready and it wasn't ready for another 3 days. A simple courtesy phone call could have saved me a trip. Out of the EIGHT times I attempted to get the shot, I was only able to get it once. Several times I showed up in person to get the shot and was told no one was there to give it. After I expressed my frustration in having wasted a trip, I was told to call and check first. (like it was my fault for following the instructions that I was told). Once I started calling, twice I was told no one was there to give the shot. Twice I was told to come on in and then once I got there, no one was there to give the shot. More wasted trips. I was not losing weight like I was promised and was concerned it could be related to the fact that I could not get the shot. I called to ask the doctor and was told he was not there, but that he would call me at 9am on Thursday morning. He never called. Quite simply, if you fail to deliver what you have promised, then you are providing poor customer service. I was told by the owners that they were having personal issues as to why no one was there to give the shots. While sad, it does not excuse the fact that I had paid $140 for nothing, been repeatedly wasting my time trying to get the shot, and that I needed to take the pill and shot together in order to see results that I was not getting. The worst thing is when the owners repeatedly acted like it was MY fault for being upset that they could not deliver the promised product. I want what you are promising. It is not my job to solve your employee issues. Figure it out. Temporarily quit offering the service until it is back to normal, hire temp workers, refer to other clinics, etc. If you really do have a legitimate personnel issue, then you need to move to plan B to solve the problem instead of just pissing your clients off. We are talking about a WHOLE MONTH here. I have never tried harder to give a business money who didn't want to take it. That's what I don't get. They had to be losing money on not having the shots. Most importantly though, is the goodwill they lost. You can't get that back. read more

To follow up on Morgan's yelp. Yes I did tip my eyelash tech, because I have nothing against her she was doing her job. I tip a waitress when I have poor service too, sometimes it's not their fault. I do have a problem with saying I was accommodated for a 9:30 appointment, I did not request and early appointment I took what was given to me at the time I called. I have sent 2 emails one of which was my concerns and 2nd was a picture of my eyelashes that were not volume filled. The confusion the day of my appointment was frustrating and I booked with someone and was told they couldn't do my fill because of the type of lash I had. If i book an hour fill I would expect the volume of my lashes be done in that period of time. Since my appointment I have been to another person who had to cut the old lashes out to start over, excess glue and pre-made volume lashes and were not glued individually. I take offense to the comment that there was communication complication between my friend and I. I called her immediately following the appointment to tell her my experience, I could not and would not make up a story. I am in customer service for my job an I feel you have been very unfair and have not given me the time of day to make things right. I have cancelled my appointment the same day I made it after the follow up email that was provided to Morgan. I have yet to receive any response from you. I went in to get a volume fill, got charged for a volume fill. All went fine. My friend schedules to see the same person to do a volume fill. They schedule her at 9:30. No one is there to open the salon until... 9:30. So she has to wait for them to get the room set up. Strike one. Then they call her back and it's a different technician than the person I had. So she explained that she was supposed to be with the same girl who did my volume fill. Then her girl argued with her. Said that person (who chimed in at that point) doesn't do volume fills. Hmm... that's interesting seeing as I went to her the week before for a volume and got charged... for a volume. Strike two. All is said and done, she does NOT get a volume fill. The girl she had took longer than an hour (which is what my friend booked) (and didn't even get her lashes full) and because she didn't get done in an hour... they charged her more! STRIKE THREE FOLKS. The final nail in the coffin... we both emailed the owner Kelly who has evidently never heard of customer service. In our email exchanges, she never accepted any responsibility, apologized, or offered to fix anything. She asked my friend to come back over so she could see her lashes (she lives 45 mins away and was NOT going to waste another second of her life at that place) so my friend emailed a picture of her lashes instead... and we've never heard back from the owner since. I was there today for first ever indoor tan. I had no idea what to expect from an impulse buy Groupon. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was helped. Also fast into the tanning thing. Upgraded to stand up. Like moving a little. One thing they can't fix easily is being able to turn of tanning easily without opening eyes ( if you want to turn it off early). M. I recently decided to try this place for a facial and microderm treatment. I arrived for my appointment and I was told 20 minutes into my appointment that I couldn't get any facial extractions done because her light had broken "earlier that day". If that was the case I should have been notified as soon as possible so that I can reschedule because the whole point in me getting the facial was to have extractions! I use to have really bad acne, and I have bad scarring, i wanted to get rid of all of the stuff on my face before my microdermabrasion. Another thing, she still gave me the facial but she was NOT WEARING GLOVES! I don't care how clean you think your hands are, it is very unsanitary to touch peoples faces without gloves especially if they are acne prone. Overall I ended up paying $110 with a treatment that I was not satisfied with. The only good thing that came out of this was my scars are a tad (just a tad) bit lighter and my skin was a little smoother, but still had blemishes and blackheads. read more

I cannot believe that LAE does not have higher ratings on Yelp. This Medi-Spa has helped me feel so much better about myself. I (like most college students) have to live on a budget and I never imagined I could afford to take care of myself without spending a fortune. LAE has provided that opportunity to me. They have tanning packages but they also have packages that you can buy that include facials and microdermabrasion. I come to this salon at least once per week to have a custom spray-tan and I also come at least twice per month for a facial or microdermabrasion. My skin feels so much better now and my confidence is through the roof. Honestly, the staff is incredible and I could never imagine finding another salon. My air-brush tans look like a real life tan without any of the harmful sun damage. The facials by James make me feel revived after a stressful week. I face leaving Gainesville in the next few months (for work) and the biggest thing I will miss is this salon. LAE is truly a hidden gem of Gainesville. I've done anything from custom airbrush tanning to eyelash extensions and my service has always been top of the line. The staff is really friendly and the spa is always super clean. I lived in Miami for 4 years and it was so hard to find an equivalent Medi Spa down there. LAE offers their services for about half of the price as those in Miami and they do a far better job. The owner frequently offers great deals and packages on top of that. If you are ever even slightly dissatisfied with your service they will do anything in their power to make you happy! I also love how the owner always looks for top of the line, safe, organic products to use as well. I know a lot of spray tan places use Norvell solution, which always makes me look a lot more orange, comes off faster, and isn't organic. The solution they use at LAE looks much more natural, is long lasting, and is organic. I would recommend LAE to absolutely anyone and I highly recommend you go! read more

Kudos to LAE! Several years ago, I started enjoying the Mystic Tan booth, a very affordable and fast way to a perfect spray tan. After getting to know the amazing owner and staff, I now schedule regular facials, massages, skin-tightening treatments, and occasional custom air brush tans. Everyone there is quick to share infomation about all the products and beauty treatments, and scheduling is a breeze. I recommend LAE to all my girl friends for one-stop beauty treatments.
