Beauty, as well as beautiful art is in the eye of the beholder! I was drawn to whatever artwork caught my eye, as well as a caught my attention & made me pause for quite a while! There were beautiful photographs, sculptures, paintings & so much more! Creative Minds | It was great speaking to some of the artists, who were more than happy to talk about their artwork and experience as an artist! In fact, I was drawn to one woman's artwork so much that I purchased a piece from her collection! The confidence in the eyes of the portrait was amazing! And the direct eye contact was everything...I had to have it!! She captured the unique moment while on a safari! Exciting! Her travel photography was beautiful! I absolutely loved it! Concert | Thursday 5:30-7PM Raffia Thomas was an amazing performer with quite the sultry voice & the band was incredible as well! Tickets were $50 each, in addition to the entrance fee! My friend and I ended up walking right by Raffia, complimented her, and she invited us to her upcoming performance at a winery! Atmosphere | Busy, welcoming, plenty of booths, plenty of people & quite the social environment; enjoyable! Parking | $25 near the entrance! There were a variety of other parking options as well! Overall | What a fun experience! I love being surrounded by creative people, beautiful art, or art that catches my eye and especially, the musical performance! I had a great time & met up again with my friend before leaving! On my way out of the festival, I simply handed the slip/receipt of my purchase to the attendent waiting at the entrance & I was free to go with my purchase! Yay!!

We bought our tickets online ahead of time for around $50 to make entry easier. As for attire, most people were dressed in smart casual or dressy casual clothing, which felt appropriate for the setting. The experience began by featuring a gallery of artwork in a variety of formats, which kept things interesting. One of the coolest parts was that some of the artists were there in person and available to talk about their work. It added another layer to the experience and made it feel much more personal. The actual experience started a bit later and was immersive from the start, describing various artists throughout history, their major works, and the impact they've had. A few tips before you go: the program is around 2 hours total and includes a 15-minute intermission, so make sure to use the restroom beforehand and keep your ticket with you for reentry. The venue was warm during my visit, but I'd still bring a light jacket just in case the temperature changes. If you're seated farther back, a small pair of binoculars can make it much easier to appreciate the finer details. If you have a background in art or art history, you'll probably get even more out of the exhibition, but I still think it's enjoyable for someone who's just curious and wants to experience something new. Even when I asked to increase my reservation from 15 attendees to 19 the day before the event, the team was quick to provide. Robin (the teacher) even delayed the class when one of the attendee's Uber put the wrong address in their GPS and ended up on the opposite side of town. The class was easy to follow, fun, and everyone walked away with a painting they loved! The setup and scenery was beautiful: the patio looked over the beach which made for great photos. The Laguna Art Lounge also worked with the 4 kids in attendance by having them paint their own creations with plenty of glitter and fun colors. The attendees were wowed by the venue scenery and workstaff. The food was great, the wine and Champaign were a-plenty. I was even able to bring my own party favors and set up a display. I would recommend this venue to any body in the Laguna Beach area!

So far this year I've seen Laurence Juber (McCartney's guitarist in Wings), Muriel Anderson (little girl, big guitar sound) and last night, Jeff Peterson (Hawaiian slack-key guitar wizard). The tickets are $25.00!!!!!! The Dana Point Community House only holds about 150 people which creates a wonderful, intimate, down-home setting to enjoy fine musicianship and music. Tim and his wife, Tina, have put together a great program that is a pure labor of love. Dig it!

These galleries really know how to do it up for artwalk, they don't just set out a bottle of Beringer like some art walks, nope you may get a Newcastle at one gallery, a martini at the next, and a glass of wine at the next. They definitely mix it up. There's always interesting artwork in the galleries, and the gallery owners are generally super fun to talk to and don't hound you to buy, buy, buy. I really love how everyone in attendance is in a great mood and just out to have a good time - it's such a great vibe.
