What a ridiculously fun experience to take your date on. Me and my date were looking for something new to do and this place had popped up as a suggestion, we bought some tickets and said let's do it! This place is the worst, they don't sell drinks there so you gotta byob, the comics are not professionals they're all local teenagers and college students. One of the guys that works there always chain smokes cigarettes out front. The owner who is in charge of this hellhole is always cursing out his employees and he yelled at my friend for buying a ticket at the door and then went on some rant about being $40,000 in debt in front of everybody. I attended a comedy night with my nephew who is interested in standup. (I actually wanted him to see it's not as easy as he might think.) It was nice to get out and do something in a casual setting that didn't involve food and drink. It was also very interesting to see a range of comedians from beginners to those who are more experienced and confident. I also attended a daytime entrepreneur meetup at the site, organized by the owner. The other attendees and I really appreciated the energy he is putting into building a space and a community. I look forward to attending more comedy and community-building events at ACT, and I highly recommend that others get out there and support it. We need more real world spaces like this! read more

I don't go to the Amazing Comedy Theater for the Stand Up. I go for the Socal D&D Meetups. It's spacious enough for ~40 (maybe 50) people. I never have trouble finding parking. Dan takes care of his D&D'ers with every event having at least 1 free character mini. We've had good game discussions, and usually even after the event is over and he has to kick us out, participants continue the conversation in the parking lot. I took a miniatures painting class there and the time flew by. It was a 3 hour meet and painting 2 figures took up that time and more. I'm learning a lot and the community that's forming are good people. Profane, but good people. read more

I received a couple of tickets courtesy of the people at the Amazing Comedy Theater via Instagram, and found this to be a pretty fun experience. I went with a couple friends on a Sunday. There was a small turnout of about 10 people and a handful of comedians came up for short 10-15 minute bits. Personally, my friends and I enjoy relatively clean and relatable humor. The general consensus amongst my friends after the show was that much of the humor was sexual, a bit crude, and a little difficult for us to fully engage in. There were a couple of comedians that were hilarious and really made our night with good clean humor, so I had to give good stars for those guys. There was one, though, that didn't seem very prepared and kept stopping or stuttering as he checked his phone, but I still enjoyed his content. Overall, interesting experience, though! read more

I received free tickets to a show last Friday through work and expected it to be mostly painful, but was willing to go to fulfill a NY's resolution to get out more. I forced my ex and 23 year-old daughter to come with me...we all laughed our asses off the entire show! The comics were so much better than I've seen in other, bigger, more prestigious venue's. I was impressed by the stand up comedians - 6 different 15-20 min sets - it was great. Funny and entertaining. It's raw and it's real. 1st weekend back - a little rough around the edges - feels like the beginning of something very cool and you'll see an up and coming stand up star before they make it big. So refreshing to find a comedy theater like this in Orange County! Truly laugh out loud experience. Looks a bit dodgy from the outside but was pleasantly surprised by the friendly people and the free water too! Bonus! It was nice to not have a drink minimum and truly experience standup that is by a wide array of talented comics. Went a few weeks ago with two of my friends- thanks to the people who emailed me with free tickets. There was a mix up with the tickets (a lot of mix ups actually), but the person who responded to my emails was SO kind and didnt get annoyed of my constant mistakes with booking times! Was kind of dreading going because i was'nt ready to fake some laughs after a long day at work, but it was (to my surprise) hilarious! Had me and friends laughing like crazy at the jokes & the comedians interacted with the audience; i loved it. I want to continue coming back for shows here and i love this little business- definitely check them out for some laughs and a good time! read more

I went to a Meet Up on creating your brand through social media, and was very impressed. Dan has lots of great experience in marketing through social media that was very helpful. The class was well done and afterwards he sent us the outline he followed. He's also a very funny guy, that made the class most enjoyable! I had never been to the amazing comedy theater before, but I love stand up and thought I'd check it out. I've got to say: when I pulled up to the venue, I almost turned around and left. It is in a gas station parking lot and looks like the start of a horror movie. I'm glad I didn't -- it was a wonderful show! There were about 8 comics that were all hilarious and the venue was so intimate that it made for an amazing and unique experience.
