The food and beverage tasting with a live band/orchestra this evening playing 40's music was a blast. Tomorrow is Bunco, Tuesday line dancing, and Friday a murder mystery dinner. Not sure about Wed and Thursdays events. They also have breakfast with Santa on Saturday morning. The fund raising consistent of buying raffle tickets to place in a basket for drawings at the end of the week. They probably have 40+ decorated trees that you can place your tickets in the bucket. Trees are fully decorated with lots of goodies included with the tree. They also have a bake sale, a Santa shop with various Christmas items to sell, wreaths for sale and gift baskets to again put your ticket in the bucket with the hopes of winning the drawing for all these items. Staff and volunteers were very friendly and the food and drink vendors had some awesome food for us to sample. A great organization that does a lot of good for our community. If you get a chance go out and support them this week or at one of their other fund raising events.

Located just off popular shopping, drink and play area of Frankfort avenue. Me and my buddy was walking around exploring Frankfort ave the other night when we noticed what we thought was a hidden little park. Being in a high end and nicer area we was expecting something well maintained and nice. Are was kinda ran down and does not look like it is maintained very well. Not much of a courtyard or much to explore. There are some apartments next to This courtyard so I'm sure the residents or children of those residents use this area as a spacious play area. So it could very well be useful for something like that.

The statues--like froggies under umbrellas and a bear holding a welcome sign--super cute and a lil quirky, making it a perfect stop for a quick breather in downtown Jeffersonville or after crossing the Big Four Bridge. It's a great place to snap a few pics, especially on the stationary bike. I love how well it's kept up; it has a great mix of being approachable and well-loved. It is located right by Galaxy, where the entrance basically takes you back to the end of the building. When you first walk in, there are some nice couches and a cozy little seating area, and in the back room is the bigger space for whatever event is going on. The house for years was located on Adams run road in Lousiville has moved over to green manor drive a few years back. Still has the same fun and charm as it did at the previous location. The lights are awesome but the roller coaster is always the main event for me and my kids. It takes about 2.5 minutes for a full cycle but it is well worth the wait. A true holiday tradition me and the kids check out every year. It is also only a few miles away from other local legends off outer loop road in toyland Christmas and blue light show. Plus is a Mile or so away from highview holiday fest awesome lights at highview park. So it is truly in a hotspot for awesome holiday lights exploring and you can make a really cool and fun night in that small few mile radius. One thing I always like to give a friendly reminder to people when it comes to awesome light displays like this is for people to please remember this is in a functioning residential neighborhood and to please be courteous to peoples properties and privacy. It can get very crowded here especially the closer you get to Christmas. So just be patient and enjoy the lights and let everyone else do so as well. Overall very cool and fun tradition my family and I do every year. The owner has a sign where he says donations to help with his lg&e are appreciated. Which I can understand and I don't think that's outlandish as this house has provided holiday cheer for many over the years locally in the louisville area.

While here working for Western Union, Edison rented a duplex. He was presumed to be around 19. In the city of Louisville at the time his skills with the telegraph presented him with work. During his time here he worked on improving the telegraph system and other equipment. At this little museum come and see the space that has been created in his honor . Many different patents he created. A few models can be seen here on display at this museum. For parking purposes they have a small lot. The hours vary so check before you come . If only for a brief moment in time, Edison studied here. It has been preserved for you to come.

They call their main stage area a "listening room" and urge patrons to silence their devices. The gist here is that they want to promote an environment where people are really focused on the music being played, without distractions. And if for whatever reason you're here to see a show or take part an event that is in the courtyard in back, that space is also very inviting and well laid out. Beyond these simple facts, if you come here you'll also notice some other unusual aspects that will hint at the fact that you're not in a normal concert venue. For one thing, there are no beverage sales -- it's entirely BYOB. And if you want to bring in your own snack too, that's kosher. I can't say I grasp everything about the place, but the reason why it's called a "music & arts community" is because this operation is run by a nonprofit, and they prefer to be in the business of serving artists rather than selling drinks. For the true night owls, or for local musicians, there is a membership option but almost any event is open to the public too (perhaps at a slightly higher entry price). Some events are ticketed, others are free or have "suggested donation" attached. And maybe best of all, none of the proceeds go to Ticketmaster.
