Personalize by Santa is a holiday superstore that specializes in personalized (putting names or custom messages) items such as ornaments and other holiday decor. They run somewhat decent deals as you can get 3 items (usually ornaments) for $35 and that includes the customization. Over the years my wife has come here almost every year to get ornaments with all of our names and the year at the bottom to add to our Christmas tree. We've also gifted my parents Similar items with all the grandkids names on it. They always go a quick and good job and the ornaments are always sturdy and have good handwriting and very legible to read. Overall it's always a fun trip to stop in here and browse and see the options. As my family is continually growing so is our shopping history here. We may be the reason they come back every season :). Pretty cool holiday tradition we do and usually after getting our new ornament made it always gets us in the holiday spirit.

I got the impression this particular location is "sketchy" when I park and realized there was somebody sleeping in the truck next to me and there was a huge security camera in the parking lot. Anyway, the store was not laid out the same as what I have been used to inside. I got immediate help which led me to even better help. I got exactly what I needed and was escorted to the self-check where she actually ran everything through for me. While this was spectacular service from my viewpoint I wondered if this was standard practice when you get two items from the lucked portion of the store. Anyway I have to give a good rating because of the help but give a heads up to those not from Louisville. Has what you need but don't go there late?

After always hearing great things about Menards from my boss in Chicago, I was excited when Menards…read morecame to Louisville. Almost everything we needed for our operations, this boss would say, "Go to Menards and pick it up." Up until this point I have been very please with the local store in Louisville as it is always neat, clean, and organized making it easy to find what one needs. Typically they have about all you need for a project. Recently while working on a project I needed an additional gallon of primer which I had been getting tinted. I asked my wife to go by Menards and pick it up. When she arrived back, the primer which she had placed in the passenger side floorboard had spilled out the top from the top not being put back on well from when associate tinted. We were able to clean most all the paint up as we have weather tech type mats. However, some of the paint got over on carpet on side of floor board and on the plastic molding on side of door. We were not able to get all this off. I attempted to contact local management night of issue, but their phones were turned off at 9:40 PM, even though they close at 10:00 PM. I spoke with Tyler the next day and explained situation. He seemed very helpful. The next thing I learned was claim had been turned over to a 3rd party Gallagher Bassett who handles claims for companies including Workman's Comp claim for companies. Victor Gallagher Bassett's manager who Menards seems to totally rely on for these processes has been evasive, unprofessional and of no help at all. A very sarcastic and nasty individual. This could have been handled as a customer service issue as it would not be a large claim. It would probably be less than the cost of most of my visits to Menards. However, Menards has chose to push their loyal customer off to a 3rd party and disregard their legitimate claim/issue. After calling store to update today, Victor once again called me to say their position stands because they can't verify what happened in my wife's car. I can tell you she didn't open can and pour it out in the floor of her car. It didn't fall out of seat. It was placed in floorboard for the ride home. This would not have spilled out edge of paint can, had associate not left lid unsealed. Menards is apparentlty so big, the individual lost in this process doesn't matter. I hope your interaction and doing business goes well with Menards. When it does, they are a great place to do business. However, if you have an issue like this, be ready to be pushed aside to a strong are legal claims handling company like Gallagher Bassett.

I clearly forgot the flashlight was clipped on the outside of my pants.. this guy is unreal and will I will not be back not to mention the manager could not even get a word in edgewise cuz this guy was overreacting over a $3 flashlight.. very embarrassing and unreal shame on you Menards for letting this happen and letting this guy accuse people. I've been admiring Honest Home since it was Bluegrass Green Co. and moved onto East Market Street…read more I appreciate this store's devotion to green and recycled building products. The store's owner, Sandra, is so approachable, and you can tell she's passionate about this. Alas, I have not yet had a need for their building products. But I have purchased several of the gift items they have in the store -- another reason to check it out! Honest Home carries this fun line of cards with cut-out birds to be used in mobiles. It also has kits to build your own toys, and for Christmas, I particularly admired the ornaments and wood veneer Christmas tree garland. The store gets the veneer scraps from manufacturers, and it would have otherwise been thrown out. Honest Home brings its green mission to Christmas trees as well. And for home products, I've noticed that they carry recycled rugs, compost bins, flooring and countertops, lighting, cleaning products and paint. I am hoping to buy a home soon, so I'm looking forward to getting some green supplies to make over my new home. I'm holding out on the fifth star until then. I'm sure I'll continue to be impressed by Honest Home.
