I love a good parable. HTCC is huge and has a lot of different rooms with a bunch of possible uses and purposes. I think you could find a space for anything. We had our lecture in a theatre that maybe had witnessed better days. The room itself served the purpose well. The two things I didn't like about HTCC was the parking situation (if you don't have loads of parking, maybe you don't invite loads of people). The bathroom situation wasn't optimal either but I'd bet that had something to do with the age of the building more than anything else.

There was a large entryway, which helped with quickly getting the line of attendees into the venue. There were several small conference-type rooms where they set up the doughnuts, coffee, and kombucha. These rooms would be great for smaller presentations as well. Then, there was the best part of the space, the theatre. It really reminded me of The Palace, only smaller. There is a large stage and lots of seating. It was perfect for the event, and I could see it being perfect for lots of other events as well. The only possible issue with this space is parking. Luckily I didn't have any trouble at all finding a spot, but I could see where parking could become an issue if the venue were full. If you're looking for an event space I think this is a great spot! Just be sure to check out the parking situation first.

The Little Loomhouse is a gem in Louisville. It has a ton of history, but you wouldn't know it is…read morewhere it is unless you were looking for it. It's actually three cottages, but the programming The Loomhouse does goes far beyond that. They're an integral part of the local art and history community. Louisville and the region offers a strong tradition of nontraditional and self taught art, and it's great to have a nice galley dedicated to elevating these artists. After the loss of Crafts gallery several years ago and KMAC's mission evolution away from a more strict focus on folk art, there was definitely room for this gallery to move in. I really look forward to following future shows here.

Frazier Kentucky History Museum is definitely a must visit to learn all about Kentucky History. I…read morewish this place had been around when I was a school kid. The exhibits are very informative on the history. I believe this was formerly a Historical Arms Museum with old military guns. I have only been here with a friend when the Summer Beer Fest at Frazier takes place. Part of the VIP package. We definitely walk around and look at the different exhibits as well as getting special pours from the fest for VIPs . This is known as the starting point for Kentucky Bourbon trail. They don't just do Kentucky History they also do Louisville History as well. You can definitely learn just about anything Kentucky here. Although we have only been during the beer festival, we have yet to be here when it is actually open. I think a guided tour would be awesome. This is definitely worth a visit, for fun, learning, field trips. They do have other events as well just check out their Facebook page.

The Frazier is now a stop on the bourbon trail and because of that you can learn fun facts about how it's made and the history in Kentucky. Tastings and tours are also available. Cool Kentucky is a favorite walk through and it's found on the main floor. It's the reason the locals should visit. I learn something new each time and people in our state are highlighted in many ways. The Lewis and Clark exhibit remains and is likely the most kid friendly; however, this museum isn't really geared towards kids and they're going to become antsy fairly quick. Rotating exhibits always offer a reason to come back so I like to follow them on social media to see the announcements. Frazier offers an annual beer fest as well during late July/early August. I give them kudos for adjusting their displays and theming over the years to appeal to more visitors and remain open. It's a unique experience. Street parking, don't forget to pay the meter. Discount tickets may be found on Groupon. Annual membership is a good deal too.

I made some concrete coasters from scratch while I sipped an espresso martini. The service is prompt, and the specialists are also really kind and knowledgeable. The crafts range from simple to complex, and every craft is very independent! Avoid if you're not into loud noises as the work space is a little small and others and their crafts will be making lots of noise! (Especially the hammer for the leather works!) I've never had a drink here I didn't love, but the espresso martini especially is one of my favorites in the city. Really mellow flavor and very foamy. The Craftery is perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, and date nights. Next time skip the fancy dinner and make some concrete coasters instead! Then grab some takeout and enjoy your craft!

Things don't turn out the way my brain envisioned them and I find myself more frustrated than inspired. The shop offers various items to craft and once purchasing the project, the supplies are provided. Long tables fill the space. Drinks and cocktails are available for purchase and you can bring in food or order from nearby restaurants. My recent visit they hosted drag bingo during Pride month. The staff were amazing and kept the drink line reasonable. I also loved their generosity in donating two visits to the bingo winners.

As a lover of cocktails, I was pretty sad to discover those were eliminated. I also understand that it likely shortens the guest visit time since people are more apt to be tempted by an additional cocktail... which allows for more turnover in this smallish space. You arrive to this area after a tour. Alternately, you can request to be put on a list to visit this area from the gift shop. The list doesn't involve texting you when you're up, so you need to be hanging around or risk losing your place. The gift shop bar was pouring samples of one spirit during our wait (not of your choosing, more of a "this is what we're pouring today" situation) which was appreciated. The gift shop itself is really lovely, so that can help burn a little time as well. Last call was at 4pm if I remember correctly, which is fairly standard for distilleries in KY.
