Cider here is off the wall... food, not so much. Come here for the cider, and hope that you aren't…read morethe designated driver. First of all, this cidery is down a 1.5 mile dirt/gravel road. At night, most of it is unmarked, and I was almost immediately told to repark into their other parking lot... which was unlit and barely marked, especially in the pitch black. Outside of your car lights, and the lights of the cidery, there was no legitimate lighting outside. Speaking as someone who did not grow up in a rural area, it felt sketch. I was a little disappointed with the lack of music as well, you're just listening to the ambiance of folks talking. If there was music, it was barely discernable. Ciders wise, here are two that you HAVE to try, that aren't sold by the can or anything, the Tart Cherry. (#7) and the Squeeze it Peazy (#9). My friend and I ordered several flights (4 drinks x 4 oz = $8) and enjoyed ourselves. Between the Tart Cherry and the Queen of Tarts, I definitely preferred the cherry. Pizza-wise, I kind of went nuts. However, I was a little surprised, and not exactly in a good way. It's a damn good thing they have the buy 2 get one free on the pizzas on Thursday night. The butternut squash/apple special pie was... sour? I asked the bartender if that was normal, and she said that the one she had wasn't sour, and that was apparently the end of that. Margherita is nothing special, and the pizza dough is a lot closer to a flatbread. Pizzas weren't staggered at all, which sort of seems counter-intuitive, they just brought them all out. The blueberry ricotta on the other hand was quite satisfying, I just wish it didn't cool as quickly. These weren't exactly brought out piping hot, either. Pretzel wise, you'd get better quality at a school cafeteria. The 'beer' cheese was just cheese, and the pretzel was as hard as dirt in winter. I'm 93% certain it was a microwaved SuperPretzel.

The ambiance is a gem of the Finger Lakes situated with a breath taking view of Keuka Lake. The service is counter to table as part of the experience, with a tempting view of in house desserts. Lillian Taylor and the Bully Hill family make this is a personal experience offering the finest of menu choices (many from local harvest when possible) to the extensive wine offerings bottled on premise. The Bully Hill wine shop offers tastings, and purchases from the grapes harvested from their vineyards. This is an experience that you should not miss, it's personal and inviting and local. The "grape juice" (non-alcohol) is for those who want to experience the native grapes, the wines listing is from dry to sweet and sure to please. Priced perfectly suited for a nice reminder of your time at Bully Hill. (they will ship from the wine store for you as a gift to someone special, or just a fun take home gift for yourself to remember this moment in your travels) Call ahead for reservations to assist in your seating, as they can be busy especially in the fall autumn season. Also to note is the art gallery by works of Walter Taylor, and a nice gift shop. The Finger Lakes has many wonderful wineries, Bully Hill is the inspiration for many of them to follow. Try the in house soups and pairings, I like the Banty Red or Love my Goat !! Enjoy:)

Today I enjoyed one of their house specials- Strawberry Basil Chicken Salad. The chicken salad was prepared with large chunks of white meat chicken on a bed of greens with a fresh, buttery croissant. Simply divine! Our usual hostess greeted us warmly and showed us to our table with the awesome lake view. While you order at the front counter, servers deliver your food table side. The waiters on the floor are very attentive to check in and fill beverages. While I enjoyed ice tea on this warm day there is a full list of wines and specialty cocktails available. After lunching the winery gift shop, tasting room & museum are all nearby. The restaurant at Bully Hill Vineyards is only open for lunch and offers a brunch menu on Sundays. It's well worth a visit
