Back for the first time this spring for Sunday brunch, the food always seems to be perfectly prepared. The servers are friendly and very efficient. Mrs Taylor is often onsite and is a wonderful greeter. The ambiance is amazing- especially on a warm day when you can enjoy the outside deck overlooking the beautiful lake view. This is a very popular restaurant of Finger Lakes. It was a bit of a weight, but not too long. The restaurant has nice views of the surrounding area which is probably why it's so popular. The food is quite good too. Items we ordered were Scallops and crab cakes Bbq platter Smoked brisket sandwich They were all delicious and we left satisfied! This review is specifically about the restaurant on the Bully Hill Vineyard property, and not at all about the wine. It was a warm October day today and we ate outside on the large porch with a scenic vista of Keuka down below. The weather was incredible and the food just lovely. You place your own order in the kitchen and then servers deliver it to your table. The dining experience was great including the smoked wings (which were huge and a tiny bit tough/undercooked but still very good), pulled pork sandwich (excellent) Smashburger (excellent), sides of salt potatoes, fried green tomatoes, and a vinegar-based coleslaw (all excellent.). I did not visit the tasting room but enjoyed the restaurant very much!! We ordered the bbq platter and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. The food was great and Sweet Walter peach wine was delicious. The only worry was the waitress told us their were additional food items for the kids menu and when our party went to order the food the kitchen staff said their were no such food. We then heard them yelling at the waitress for telling us their was other food. That poor woman. We were so uncomfortable hearing them yell at her and berate her for simply saying their was cheese pizza when their wasn't. Hopefully this isn't a regular thing yelling and berating your staff. The gift shop was a nice touch. The worker was charming and funny and we enjoyed finding new treasures in there. Will definitely return here for more food and drinks and hopefully the kitchen staff being nice to the wait staff. read more

We came for lunch rather than the wine. The view was fine although part of it was a parking lot. I wasn't really feeling a deluxe dining experience like I would normally have at a winery, although maybe I'm comparing it too much to those in California. Greg made sure to let us know that he was not our server, however, he would be bringing us our food once we placed the order at the counter. Everything we ordered tasted delicious! We started off with the chocolate peanut butter pie, and discovered that it is the best in the region! We tried three other varieties of peanut butter pie at different locations over the next few days, and nothing came close to the flavor, components, and presentation of this delectable dessert. My husband is originally from Buffalo and always compares wings to his favorite spot. The smoked wings and smoked turkey sandwich we enjoyed for lunch were phenomenal. After indulging in a filling lunch, we took a stroll over to the tasting room. The view from the hillside was spectacular, overlooking Keuka Lake. We found plenty of room to sit at the tasting bar and had a great time with the guys working the bar. We had the full experience at Billy Hill vineyards. We dined for lunch then walked over to the tasting room and tasted wines, and prior to leaving walked through their extensive multi level gift shop. Dining at Bully Hill is casual. You're seated by a hostess, given a menu, then you go to the counter and order your food and beverages. A wait person brings your food to you when the order is ready. The system works well! We were able to sit on the deck overlooking the parking lot and lake beyond, due to an unusually warm spell mid April. After lunch we walked to tasting room and were greeted by a young man who was knowledgeable and engaging. It was an excellent experience! When reviewing wineries I often don't review the wines themselves. I find wine to be very personal, and due to the variations between vintages often one's taste changes from vintage to vintage. read more

For lunch, we ordered the BBQ Sampler (all the meats were juicy and flavourful) and the Crab Cake + Scallops (good portions and fresh). We then made our way to the wine tasting bar & shop at the back, we tried all their whites & reds available and found their Riesling and sweet/dessert wines too sweet. I was so glad to stop back, this time for lunch at the restaurant and to check out the massive gift shop! The restaurant is partial counter service. You get seated with menus and a table number, then place your order at the counter. Food will be brought out to you. Menu was small but full of great choices. I had the crab cake which came with several sides, was very filling, and everything was delicious. There were also delicious looking desserts in the cooler, but unfortunately I didn't have room. Bully Hill has such a wonderful compound. There is an art museum, two gift shops, a cafe, and of course the wine tasting rooms. My mom, aunt and I stopped here. They had both been here a year earlier and it was their favorite. This time it didn't disappoint either, and Bully Hill found another fan in me. Dustin, our tasting guide, was vibrant and wonderful in describing the wines and telling the stories. I really enjoyed him and he is doing a tremendous job. We bought a bunch of stuff, and the one gentleman in the gift shop told us we could pull the car up to load it with our purchases. It was very nice of him. Our host at the tasting bar was spectacular, and yes, we left with a box full of our faves! Everything was clean, not a spec of dust, and artfully arranged. The only thing missing was a little flip book of the renowned goat and the story of why. I would have happily added that to our box. We had to get that story from the host at Great Western, who recommended we visit for a bite, but the hours didn't mesh with our museum visiting hours elsewhere. No shame though, because no one else was open either, at least not anywhere with non-meat options like Bully has on their menu. read more

We stopped by Bully Hill after a trip out to Corning! There was much to enjoy here, and a couple reasons I likely won't stop by again. The good: 1) The tasting was well-organized and made workable for the COVID times. $12 per person gets you a small food item and tastings of four wines. 2) Once we were seated our server was fantastic and walked us through our tasting with ease. 3) Both teeny tiny food offerings were so cute and tasty. 4) A beautiful campus with a stunning view of the lake and lots of room to walk around and enjoy.' 5) Learning about the wine art and how the owner creates the labels! The reasons I would be hesitant to come back: 1) The wine. Bully Hill is known for their highly drinkable goat wine, which I had never tried before and actually REALLY enjoyed and would absolutely buy for a day at the pool. Otherwise, not one that really spoke to me. 2) The environment was really chaotic upon arrival. There was a staff member yelling orders out to tables, people waiting in line to be seated, and the vibe was just off. Could have just been the day and I know COVID restrictions make things tricky. I had to step out of the winery until it calmed down a bit, and we were there with a reservation. 3) The drive to get there, in any vehicle, is horrible. It's waaay up the hill (duh Megan) and the drive was not worth the stress. I hope you'll go and enjoy your visit and I'll look forward to enjoying some more goat wine this summer! read more

Up a hill, a perfect spot for leaf-peeping and spending a good morning looking at the sites, sounds, smell of the vineyard. Tasting was not open at the time but we bought a few recommended bottles. Visited the gift shop. Lady wasn't so friendly so we bought a few items and left. Ate at the restaurant. Good food. Great outdoor set up. Not quite table service. Was told if I stop at any winery while in the finger lakes it has to be Bully Hill! Luckily we were staying in Hammonsport our last night in town. We heard they serve brunch so we showed up around 10:30. They weren't ready to seat anyone until around 10:45. We were seated right on the edge of the porch overlooking the lake. Beautiful views. The brunch menu only had 4 different options. None of which sounded great to either of us, so we opted for lunch. I had the salmon salad. It was tasty but has a lot of rotten lettuce. Probably wouldn't order it again. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and he said it was really good! We had several of the champagne cocktails, all were great! read more
