Not only do they cut to your preference (I ordered several 1 1/4 cut Ribeyes) but they have a freezer housing several options of beef, pork and seafood, along with frozen veggies, fruit and other sides. The actual counter has several different types of cheeses, pork cuts and ready-to-cook pulled pork. Don't forget to grab a pack of jalapeno beef sticks while you're there to munch on in the car on the way home...they may not make it home actually. Not only do they have all the meat you would like but the have a great selection of rubs and sauces to help complete your grilling experience. The selection is immense. They have all manners of sausage. They have all manners of beef. They have all manners of chicken. They will even custom butcher livestock you bring it to them, for a nominal fee. Merkley's is also a throwback for grocery shopping. It's not just going to the mega mart and picking up random bits on styrofoam trays, covered in cellophane. You can talk to the butcher, ask for recommendations and opinions. They'll gladly tell you all you need to know. First, go to Walmart. Buy the biggest cooler you can fit in your car. And get down to Merkley and Son's. You should also get ice, but they will give you a bag of ice if you ask nicely. Oh, and finally, and get a box of wheat thins. It's for the ham salad. They make their own ham salad in house and in my humble opinion, it's worth the trip all by itself.
