If you have a big dog I would not recommend at all. The lady here told me she would be able to take my dog, I made sure and called before I went to her, she told me that I would might need to help her. ( mind you, before the appointment I asked for a grooming trim and shedding. And told her that my dog is only 9 months old and has been to a groomer before so he knows his way around the ropes) The whole time I was there the lady was complaining the whole time that he's too big and saying he was being a hassle, which I saw the whole thing and he wasn't even doing that bad, he was literally just being a dog in a bathtub. This was in the morning and she seemed very worn out just by giving my dog a bath. After that she dryed him off and brushed him and and she still made it seem like it was a hassle to deal with him. I started to get irritated at this point so I just start holding him and making it hopefully be for her. And I guess she just wanted to be done even though his paws, his tale and private parts weren't even trimmed and she just thought of this being a "bath appointment" which I never heard of. She did start trimming his feet and peepee area, after I asked. it's very blotchy and she was complaining the whole time while doing it. It's just if you can't do big dogs let people know instead of taking there money!!! read more

I have a 4 month old dog that needed grooming, and after reading reviews I picked this place. The groomer/owner(Kathy) was very nice at first, however that changed quickly. This was my dogs first time getting groomed so I knew she was going to be scared, she pooped in her drying kennel. She immediately changed her attitude towards the dog. She was upset so she brought her out to me and made me hold her while she cleaned up the mess. Once she rinsed and dried her feet off she started the grooming. Again this is my dogs first grooming, so she was squirming and moving. She scratched the groomer and made her bleed, so she started by cutting her nails. I was unaware that she had made the groomer bleed. She is an older lady so her skin was more sensitive and thinner, easily cut open. She called me in to "help" her groom my dog. That is when I noticed she was bleeding, she must of saw my reaction and said it was her blood not the dogs so if I saw it on my dog don't worry it was hers. I was appalled. She should have stopped the grooming in that instance and got herself cleaned up and put on some bandages to stop the bleeding. On top of that she was coughing(maybe smokers cough) all in my face and had a runny nose the whole time. I am 7 months pregnant by the way so I was immediately ready to go period. She kept saying just hold her and Ill finish as quickly as I can, she was so rough with my dog. My dog was crying and screaming, not because of the clippers but because how hard she was pulling her by her ears. I paid $50 to help groom my own dog. I defiantly understood that it would be pretty rough since it was the dogs first grooming but the experience was terrible. Oh and the building smells like cigarette smoke, and they had no working AC. I will never go back. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kathy at Lake Air Grooming! We are new to Waco, and I was nervous about having to find a new groomer for my 14 year old almost blind almost deaf shih tzu. Kathy blocked off her first appointment of the morning so it would be quiet and calm and she took such care to make sure that Crissy was groomed beautifully. She was calm and patient and just great! I thought I was at an abandoned building when I drove up. The curb appeal is terrible, broken window, weeds, dead plants. There were at least four signs on the door warning to make our dogs go potty before coming in. When I tried the door, it would not open. I am a strong person, but it would not budge. I saw a person coming. She pushed on on the door with me standing right in front of it, nearly knocking me over. She then said very brusquely, "You have to pull. Pull hard." After walking to the counter, she asked if my puppy had pottied and I replied yes. She then said she noticed we had driven up in a car and asked if she had been since we got out. Her attitude was rude and hostile. Since I don't like being called a liar, I turned and walked out. This lady needs to learn something about customer relations. Of course I came in a car. What did she think? I walked there? I am afraid if she treats her customers like that, she may mistreat the animals. Never again. Would not recommend. read more
