Since I wasn't physically at the property I decided to call around for some quotes. As soon as I spoke with someone at the Clean Air Co., I knew they were who I wanted to go with. They got it scheduled and said the technician would call me once he assessed the vent. To my surprise, the technician reported that the vent was already really clean and told me it wasn't necessary. He said he'd of course be happy to do it but he thought I'd rather save the money. I'm so grateful for his honesty. Not only was he awesome, but both of the folks in the office who I spoke with were very friendly and helpful as well. So, while I can't speak to the services themselves, I feel I can strongly recommend the Clean Air Co. based on my interactions with three different employees, who were all the kind of people I'd want working for me. They offered a contract guaranteeing no leaks in the chimney. They required payment upfront and we paid them. On the day of the repair they suggested a chimney cleaning too and we paid for that. At the end of the day, the chimney was covered in mortar, not matching the rest of the house and the flashing installed was silver on a black roof. I asked Russ about this and he said that he wanted to wait for a heavy rain to ensure the leak was fixed. We waited for that rain and while the leak was significantly better, it was still leaking. We attempted to schedule a follow up appointment but our first message got no response. After calling, we did set a follow up appointment. The crew never showed up for the appointment and didn't call or text us. We messaged Russ and he said the crew was rear-ended and wouldn't make it so he scheduled us for the following week. Again, the crew didn't show up for the appointment. I called Russ this time and he said he would see where they were. He told me they were running late but they'd still be there by the end of the day. They never showed up. I called Russ two more times and went to voicemail. I left them a poor Google review and then Russ messaged me, apologizing for the third missed appointment. He told me he processed a refund for the chimney sweep portion of the job. He never did. I never got that money back. He also told me he would come by personally to finish the job. On the day of his appointment, surprise... he never showed up. I messaged him and he told me the owner of the company would be contacting me. I got a message from a number and the person claiming to be the owner. I called that number rather than message back, and it was a google phone number. The man sounded suspiciously similar to Russ. However, he was very apologetic, and said that the company had had a problem with Russ' scheduling. He offered a full refund for the repair and said that his crew, not Russ', would come and finish the job. On the day of their appointment it got to be 11AM and I hadn't heard from them. I called the owner with no answer. I called their booking phone number on their website with no answer. Then I messaged the owner to call me. He called but it was Russ on the line. He said that he had the owners phone. Russ told me they would be coming by at 3PM but they had to wait on weather. To this point it had rained at all. I asked about the refund and Russ said he couldn't process that but he would have the owner call me. The owner did not call me, he texted me. When I asked who I was talking to he said it was Rolando, the owner. However Russ is actually listed as the business owner. He told me that he personally processed the refund and his CPA had put it in the mail yesterday. However when I asked for written proof of this refund, he dodged the question. A week later he told me the check had been returned to him but he would be bringing it by personally. He never showed up. I messaged both Russ and Rolando in a group. Russ responded via text individually. He said HE was running late and didn't get to drop the check by but he could pay via Venmo. He didn't. When I pushed him on this he said they were having trouble because they normally use Cash App. He said if he couldn't do Venmo, again he would bring the check by personally. He didn't. I told him that if we didn't receive a refund by 6PM I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It's been 50 days since Russ was paid in full up front and the job was never completed. 5 appointments were missed. And every time he said he processed a refund, he lied. He also mysteriously switches between being Russ and being Rolando. Check the Google review for screenshots of the many empty promises. Do not trust this company!

Each time, I was grossly overcharged. The first instance, I was refunded $150 by owner Chris who agreed that I was overcharged by his employee Aaron. The second instance I was charged $353 by office manager Melissa, including 2 service visit charges even though I only had 1 service visit. Again, owner Chris refunded me $99. Based on these dishonest experiences, I will never use Aire Serve again. This company is dishonest and purposely attempts to grossly overcharge customers.
