LOVED this place! I like simple lodgings and this is exactly my taste! The place is very clean, has nice country decor, and boasts a beautiful view of the lake! The food is simple (and only served during breakfast) but it's pretty similar to what I eat most days at home. The staff is what ultimately made this place 5 stars. Some of the warmest, extroverted people work here and I certainly felt very welcomed during my stay here. If you're looking for comfortable lodging for a great price with great people, this is it.

We had a great stay! Masks are required and staff is very friendly and were sanitizing common areas. Gorgeous views from the front and back of the lodge! This is a great place to stay if you're looking for a more budget friendly hotel on the lake.

A view from a true gem of a hotel.

The lodge is a true gem with amazing service and great views. The entire staff is the epitome of Southern hospitality. Carina makes you feel like a treasured friend

Stayed there to attend a concert. Our first time to stay there. The view from our 2nd floor room was beautiful. See the picture. The staff could not have been nicer. Wonderful people who seemed to take real pride in their job. The hotel was within walking distance of the concert venue. This was great as there were lots of people all trying to leave at the same time when it was over. Also, within walking distance was Hawg Wild BBQ. Again, the folks that ran it were truly very nice. They were short staffed but the employees were very friendly and did not act like they were under any pressure. The food was great. The downside is the hotel is very dated. If you have trouble with balance, be aware. You'll have to step into a tub. It's very cumbersome. It was clean, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The door in the room had a lot of mold. See the picture. The place needs a good deep cleaning or better yet, an update. A little pricey at $260/night. It does include breakfast. It's a beautiful part of the state.

Staff was very nice. Smell was mildew. Toilet seat falling off. Carpets are old and smelly. Hard to get clean. Quiet. Beautiful location.

Wanted to do a quick getaway from Atlanta and chose tranquille resort. We decided to come and stay…read morefor two week nights as the prices were cheaper and with the wifi, we could work as well. It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

All needed kitchen utensils, appliances and housewares are available. A dishwasher and full-size washer and dryer round out everything needed for a longer stay. Did I mention the view? Start or finish the day on the back porch gazing at the mountains and Lake Chatuge. We are planning to be back during the summer to take advantage of the boat docks, on-site canoe rental, kids playhouse and a cool swim in the lake. Did I mention the staff? Everyone( Greg the owner, Jennifer the manager, Vicki and another young lady) made sure that our stay was comfortable

One star: nightmare in the mountains! My girlfriend and I…read moredecided to take a little respite from the city life in the last coupe weeks for a little R&R. We decided this property would fit the bill because of it's incredible mountain views and reviews on TripAdvisor, bed&breakfast.com, and Travelocity. We were greeted warmly by the owner of the property who kindly showed us our room which was basically in the basement of her home. The room had that incredibly musty, old, moth ball smell like when you visit a bad antique store. Bed and accommodations were dated including mattress, bathroom, coffee maker, and microwave. Pretty much like visiting your stereotypical grandmothers cottage. Breakfast was decent but overall average quality which included grits, frittata, fruit salad, and cheese biscuits. The real nightmare when we had an emergency and needed to go back home. After speaking with the owner before 11 in the morning she refused to give us a refund for the following day because we did not give her "enough time" to cancel. After returning home I checked my credit card statement and was appalled that she charged over $500 for that ONE night. There was no cancellation policy on her website, never returned my VM's, and felt like she simply overcharged us out of some grudge. All in all this felt like a scam and would heed caution for all her "incredible" reviews. I've stayed at many fine b&b's and was appalled at this blatant disregard of sympathy, hospitality, and customer service.
