Very clean and quiet. Comfortable beds, all amenities available. We booked the presidential suite because it included a walk-in shower. My only recommendation would be to put safety grab bars in the shower. The people with the most expendable income for travel are seniors, and keeping the shower safe benefits everyone. Was very happy with our stay and would definitely rebook. Highly recommended! The buffet breakfast is mostly carbs but I don't expect more from anyplace that offers free breakfast. Not a dealbreaker. Buyer beware! When I booked my reservation on their website, it only gave me an option of "Resort View", whereas there is also a "Lake View" option that wasn't available. To my complete disappointment, "Resort View" means looking over their parking lot or the neighboring apartments and parking (my view). There are no mountain views or lake views from this option. Very misleading!! When confronting the desk clerk, she commented that I had Mountain views from my room. Obviously she had no idea what she was talking about - but it was absolutely NOT a mountain view, and you definitely didn't want to "sit on the balcony to sip a glass of wine" as the resort suggests! There were only cobwebs and dirty chairs! The only good thing about the resort was the Oaks Restaurant, and Adirondack chairs to sit by the lake. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my money. The morning staff are great! But this place is old the beds are terrible, pillows junk, towels have holes in them, for the price we were very disappointed, good location, just needs a lot of updating, no pool, or access to lake , it's to bad I really wanted to like this place, but my back hates me after sleeping on these old broken down beds for 3 days !! First, let's say the view from the main floor in the lobby looking out to the lake is beautiful! The front desk staff were pleasant. However, upon entering the overwhelming musky smell is not the best. It is extremely unpleasant, and I figured it's just the lobby, I'm sad to say that it's not just the lobby, our room was the same if not worse. I was hoping turning the AC on would help, but it didn't. We had no tv remote in our room, but there was a tv! Lol The balcony/patio we had was filled with cigarette butts everywhere and we even encountered a few ants in the room. The room was VERY DATED! My husband looked online and for as much revenue as they bring in, you'd think they'd invest into their rooms and lodge! Paying $200+ for one night was outrageous! We won't be back, and I'm hoping they invest into the lodge. read more

LOVED this place! I like simple lodgings and this is exactly my taste! The place is very clean, has nice country decor, and boasts a beautiful view of the lake! The food is simple (and only served during breakfast) but it's pretty similar to what I eat most days at home. The staff is what ultimately made this place 5 stars. Some of the warmest, extroverted people work here and I certainly felt very welcomed during my stay here. We visited North Georgia to house hunt and stayed at Lake Chatuge Lodge. The facility was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us pointers about the area. The best food places for breakfast, doughnuts, etc.... The room was nice and had a decent view of the lake. This is not the fanciest place you can stay but it's a nice, clean and comfortable place with nice folks. read more

What a great gem! If you want a relaxing place with comfy rooms and great views this is the place for you!! Public beach access is right across the lake but no direct access to the water. The rooms are dated but a simple lake life feel. I give it two thumbs up. The people working there are also super awesome. And the continental breakfast always has eggs and French toast sticks and some sort of meat. Which is rare these days. Great job!! read more

Dated and in need of freshening up, this was once a really nice place. It's reasonably clean, meaning that the carpet is as clean as it is going to get. It should be ripped out and replaced... The bathrooms are well cleaned, which is a real positive for this end of the hotel spectrum. Breakfast was included and was typical of the "free breakfast" you might expect in quality but jut more limited in options. There were eggs, bacon, and potatoes, but beyond that not much more than some cereal, bagels, and small muffins. It's right on the lake so if your room is on the right side you will have a great view. If you need so stay nearby this is on the lower end of acceptable, certainly for the price you don't get much bang for the buck. read more

Stayed there to attend a concert. Our first time to stay there. The view from our 2nd floor room was beautiful. See the picture. The staff could not have been nicer. Wonderful people who seemed to take real pride in their job. The hotel was within walking distance of the concert venue. This was great as there were lots of people all trying to leave at the same time when it was over. Also, within walking distance was Hawg Wild BBQ. Again, the folks that ran it were truly very nice. They were short staffed but the employees were very friendly and did not act like they were under any pressure. The food was great. The downside is the hotel is very dated. If you have trouble with balance, be aware. You'll have to step into a tub. It's very cumbersome. It was clean, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The door in the room had a lot of mold. See the picture. The place needs a good deep cleaning or better yet, an update. A little pricey at $260/night. It does include breakfast. It's a beautiful part of the state. read more

We had a choice between the lodge and the holiday inn in the city. I'm so glad we chose this one. Our first room had a bug so we changed rooms. The lady at the front was nice enough to come upstairs and help us move. The views are the best thing about this place. You can see a huge part of the lake from your balcony. It's so serene as you get lost in the moment. They're very generous on the breakfast since it's available until 10 am. Not only they've ham and eggs, they also have bagels, muffins and whatever else you can think of. I'd highly recommend this to anyone wanting a place in to rent in Hiawassee. read more

The property is in horrible shape and the customer service is miserable. I've stayed there many times over the years since it opened, now it is in the state of utter disrepair. The management could care less about making guests happy. The decline is such a shame. read more

This hotel is a great little lodge with a million dollar view of Lake Chatuge. We have been coming up to this lake for years and recently found this place when our family home rented for the summer. I'll go over some pros and cons: PROS: Wonderful location right on the lake and surrounded by mountains. It is very close to the town of Hiawassee where the majority of shopping, restaurants, bars are (there is a nice Steakhouse next door - walking distance). It is also very close to marinas where you can dock a boat for the weekend or even rent one. The staff is very nice and their complimentary (weekend) breakfast is great (not the same ole stale pastries but eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, cereal, fruit etc). There is a charming den area and a back patio overlooking the lake with rocking chairs, perfect way to end your night. Beds are comfy and free HBO and wifi. CONS: I hate to call this a con but want to point it out for people who are used to 5 star accommodations. This is an older hotel and not a sparkling brand new one BUT everything is clean and well maintained. Overall, I love this hotel and will return again and again....Unless you are willing to go the $250-300/night route on the lake, this is your best option! read more

Stayed for a night for a wedding at the Ridges Resort. Clerk was nice and provided number for a taxi service (which is rare for the area). Clean room and liked the layout of the bathroom (felt larger than most standard rooms). No issues with the room at all. Had a room towards the street, which showcased the mountains. Didn't see the bears, but the clerk shared that a mother and two cubs had taken up residency on the property so that was fun to look for. A nice, quiet stay for a good price. read more

Honestly this place was super expensive over 2 hundred for two nights... It was clean and well kept but the bed was so uncomfortable you could feel every spring in it... I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN !!!! read more

This is a great place to stay. It's no frills, so if you want luxury this might not be the place. But it was clean, the staff was friendly, and scenery is beautiful. Short drive to Helen and other fun things to do. I will definitely be returning. Extra bonus: nearly BBQ place is great! Try the fried pickles. read more

Staff was very nice. Smell was mildew. Toilet seat falling off. Carpets are old and smelly. Hard to get clean. Quiet. Beautiful location.

Went for a concert at nearby Anderson Music Hall. Room was clean. Towels and linens were nice. Homey atmosphere with small balconies off the room. Saturday morning complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. Breakfast Staff was friendly and helpful and kept the breakfast supplied. Enjoyed our stay and would return again! read more

My one star is all about costumer service or lack thereof. The room was fine if pricey. The porch is a nice touch. No room refrigerator and I needed to freeze an ice pack overnight to keep insulin cool on the back of my motorcycle in summer heat. Asked at the front desk if they could freeze it for me in their kitchen freezer and was told no, they would not do that. I explained to the otherwise nice desk clerk that it was a medical necessity and would she please check with her manager. She made the call, explained the situation and the manager reiterated that they would not freeze my ice pack. Instead told me that there was an ice bucket in the room, ice machines on each floor and couldn't I make do with that. I stay in dozens of hotels each year, and this is the first time this has ever happened to me. Very disappointing. read more

The pictures of this hotel do not tell the true story. On the inside it looks old and run down. The best thing this place has going for it is the view. If that is all you are looking for then this is your place. Staff is rude. Account was charged for more than online confirmation and authorization with no warning or explanation until after my account was charged. Staff was defensive and rude when questioned and unwilling to refund the difference. read more
