The unit was clean, cozy, super log cabin like, had great Wifi and TVs, a washer and dryer and little kitchen and bathroom with a tub. Great front porch and a pull out couch if needed. Plenty of seating. It was super private yet close to all things like grocery stores and restaurants. Close enough to the other cabins but still gave each family space. The biggest house worked great for everyone to get together and eat together. AC worked great. Great little grill and fire wood and a fire pit. So quiet. Host was awesome and super at giving us ideas for where to go and what to do and eat. Highly recommend. Great little town and amazing cabins. Well done! Thanks for giving us a chance to reconnect and refresh in a perfect home away from home. Hope to be back.

To my complete disappointment, "Resort View" means looking over their parking lot or the neighboring apartments and parking (my view). There are no mountain views or lake views from this option. Very misleading!! When confronting the desk clerk, she commented that I had Mountain views from my room. Obviously she had no idea what she was talking about - but it was absolutely NOT a mountain view, and you definitely didn't want to "sit on the balcony to sip a glass of wine" as the resort suggests! There were only cobwebs and dirty chairs! The only good thing about the resort was the Oaks Restaurant, and Adirondack chairs to sit by the lake. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my money. The surrounding woods were beautiful and the hot tube was a nice touch. That's it! These cabins must be owned by individuals because there was great differences in each cabin. Ours was the 3 Bears cabin and it was a dump! The pillows and mattresses were terrible! So old and rolled to center! The appliances were so outdated and the fridge froze our food and couldn't be adjusted. No dishwasher or w/d. Minimal and cheap options for dishes, that you had to wash w threats of $50 charge. Previous guest's soap was left in the dish. Gross! Who knows what else wasn't cleaned? The faucets were dirty and old and cheap. Sofa pillows had tears and holes. The walls and floors were so thin you could hear every move anyone made which made sleeping downstairs tough. Sliding door was incredibly hard to open. Terrible WiFi and you had to have engineering degree to watch anything on TV. Should have forfeited the hot tub and used that money to make the cabin livable. Don't book the 3 Bears Cabin!!!

They refused to give me a room as we live "to close to the hotel." They said they have a 75 mile policy but I dont see that on their website or on your listing. Obviously I would have booked elsewhere. I was humiliated and my grandkids were crushed as they had been looking forward to this trip for over a week. How is this possible?? im almost 60 and I have never in my life heard of this happening. I am considering a civil suit. They said "we have a DRUG PROBLEM here and dont allow locals to stay with us" No one conveyed this to us when we booked or confirmed our reservation and they had all our info. BAD BUSINESS.

I expected turkey but they only served small thin slices of turkey breast (with giblet gravy - no traditional gravy available) and some kind of baked ham (mostly in chunky pieces) in a cabbage broth (a dish of sweet dark looking sauce available). The appetizer/salad/soup options: big bowl of mostly frissee lettuce w/ grape tomatoes, shaved carrots with a gross thick sauce of balsamic vinaigrette. There were trays of: baked root veggies, sweet potato pone, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The rolls were industrial like (white rolls out of a bag) not the homemade fresh baked breads I've had here before. There were bowls of Smoked CHOPPED salmon (why would anyone chop up smoked salmon?) and trout with a tzatziki sauce (not a dip) was not what one would expect. The best part of the whole meal was the butternut squash bisque. The dessert option that I chose was a small wedge of flour chocolate ganache torte. It was dry and the topping was very thin. There was fresh made whipped cream but the buffet table (overall) was not well maintained. The table service was subpar. We had plates sitting on our table for long periods of time and would have liked to have more visits by the waitress for more pours of coffee. The wine selection is not what it used to be. My Oregon Pinot Gris was served in a stumpy Chardonnay glass (ugh). For the price of this meal....we should have been treated right and fed a phenomenal holiday meal. My father and mother had experienced at least two Thanksgiving meals at Glen-Ella in recent years and raved about how good it was, which was why he shelled out the money to take me and invite friends to eat there this past Thanksgiving. The worst part was the response of the wife (Michelle) of the husband/wife owners who replied to my email whereby I described the above meal/service and the excuses I got, contradicting statements I made as if she was there and witnessed what me, my dad and our fellow diners experienced, giving excuses for such poor service and food selections. She did say the next time we return to let her know. We're not going to risk another poor and expensive experience. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. Update.....it doesn't surprise me that Michelle replied the way she did to my review. I can tell you that most people who are disappointed with food/service do NOT write reviews either on Yelp! or other review sites. I love that its an adult only campground. no need to worry about loud music or in and out travel in the middle of the night. Short drive to Helen and the recommendations given for activities and restaurants were fantastic. Will certainly be staying again when I do a return visit.
