Do not go here. VERY RUDE people. Demanding. $5 per person to pull into a camping area and pick up our friends son. Another friend had their car rammed by an employees golf cart after they were leaving without stopping at the closed entry point. They were only in the camping area for 5 minutes to gather belongings and didn't have a permit. They refused to pay $5 per person to pick up the gear so the person just rammed the car. The police visited and stated it was an accident and was not enough damage to lay charges. read more

I will start with the positives. The lake is gorgeous. Sunsets were beautiful. Our campsite in a nice location on the lake and site was pretty level nice fire pit and table. But stay somewhere else. I would suggest Lake Dubay County Park about 2 miles up from here actually on Lake Dubay. Very nice campground with all amenities. Now, Back to this campground. First I am not a snobby camper, we have a simple pop up and canoe. We (myself and my husband) Like quiet and easy fishing and relaxing. As we pull in the front of this campground office sign (pictured) is falling over. The office is dirty and outside around the area is very unkept. weeds everywhere and garbage all over. As we were checking in the man was not friendly at all and kept answering the phone while we were checking in it took a good 30 min. We pre booked and paid a week in advance for a 5 days stay. I asked if the fishing was good or had any advice or places to go check out and he laughed. I assumed he was going to say something, but never did. We reserved to rent a boat for the day they want $300 deposit cash only but never mentioned it when we made the reservation.. So we had to go back into town and get cash. The boat was filthy! Missing cup holders dead leaves under everything, carpet was black with mold. All the stairs going to the beach (not much of one btw) were overgrown weeds and dirt, you just slip on them. (Picture) bathroom were filthy when we got their Sunday afternoon. No mirror In the bathroom and the showers are pull metal chains with no hooks to hold them down, hard to shower and pull a chain when your hands are wet. I actually cut my finger in it. nothing to put your stuff (soap, shampoo, washcloth clothing) on. Took good 5 min to get hot water. (Pictures) the out side building had broken windows glass and rotted doors. The horseshoes puts were not taken Care of so we couldn't play. (Picture) the kids playground was the old metal bars rusted out (pictured) the garbage was a graveyard for old grills and mowers. (Pictured) A lot of old Unkept trailers. We were charged $70 a night. Totally not worth it! I am so sad, this place could be awesome, if someone showed they cared about it. read more

Was looking for a relaxing location to swim and enjoy the river. Huge mistake staying here. We didn't need lakeside. The bathrooms and showers and level campsites on that side. Nothing good to share about it. On the other side of the road the sites are awful. No beach to swim at. Guess they cater to fishing and boating enthusiasts! Long-term sites look like hillbillies stay there. Drove away the next morning to find something better. Not worth your time or expense. read more

Trashy campground. Sites were tight, bathrooms were disgusting. Paid $80/night for a lakefront sight which was not worth it. Site had tree limbs and bark all over it. Spent about 30min clearing that off. Normally pay about $70/night at much nicer lakefront sites with much nicer amenities. They were allowing 2-3 cars to be parked at these tight sites with little room to drive or maneuver campers in. Save your money and go somewhere else. Kind of disappointing. read more

Nice location on the Wisconsin River. showers desperately need updating. difficult to maneuver. string pull is not easy to do. water is cold. it's too bad because it's a pretty location and a quiet campground. this was our 2nd experience here. same issue. read more

Let's start with the good. Our campsite was good. Level. Relatively clean. Near but not on the lake. Utilities good. Nice scenery on lake. Didn't have any issues with the staff. Other campers cool. The bad. The bathroom/shower building awful. The doors rotting away. Windows broken. Showers army style where you must hold the chain down to get water. (Temp was good though). Let go of the chain- no water. No grate over drain. Open 2" hole. No hooks. No shelf. No stool. No bench. Nothing to put soap etc on. Nowhere to put clothes while you shower. Disappointing. Makes me wonder how Good Sam qualifies these places. Pay the fee and your in? We will be leaving in the morning. We won't be back. read more

Wish I could do zero or negative stars. What rude staff and outrageous rules. High cost for such a lousy place. Stinky garbage area next to camp sites; unsafe electrical outlet. When I told manager of these issues I was completely ignored. Nasty on check out when I tried to gently discuss some of my concerns. Seems all they want is $$$$ and nothing else. We have been coming to this park with our family and friends to camp in our RV's every Memorial Day and 4th of July for at least the past 5 years. The sights aren't the most level and the positioning of the fire pits could have been a bit more thought out, but everyone always has a good time. We love that there is a boat ramp and slips right on sight! The kids love the Saturday night DJ sponsored activities the camp offers. And there are great hiking trails located around the park you can take your golf cart on for a "can you spot a squatch"in the dark ride through the forest! The bathrooms could definitely be modernized and some of the staff a bit more amiable and willing to help than others, but overall it's not bad and the setting and location can't be beat! Our only grievance (this includes our whole group from youngest to oldest) would be the "Paul Blart" wannabe tooling around stealth like with no lights on the golf cart trying to catch you doing whatever irks his fancy so he can shut it down or kick you out of the park. I stopped to visit family. Had to check in at the office to pay a $5.00 visitor fee. There was a lady in front of me arguing with "John" at the desk that she paid a lower fee for camping just recently. More people came in and the office was packed. I asked if I could just pay the $5.00 to visit. John informed me that it cost $10.00. Five for me and five for my car. I gave him the $10.00 and the lady in front of me also paid extra. The guy was a total tool. Other visitors who came later were charged $5.00 each and no car fee. I think I offended him and he showed me! I will start with the good things about this camp. I went here with my family for a labor day weekend camping trip. The staff at the front desk were fairly kind and fast about getting us in and out so we could set up our tent. When we asked for wood, we also were able to get it in record time. The bathroom sinks were also a lot nicer than I expected for a well-used campground. Now onto the not-so-pleasant of the camp. With the firewood, while we did receive it nearly 10 minutes after asking, was wet and smoked more than it did burn. With the bathrooms, the showers were very underwhelming and unsatisfying. While I didn't expect a 5-star shower, I at least hoped for some warm water or a curtain that ran the length of the shower itself for concealment. The camp as a whole looks unkempt and lazy. Downed branches laying in stalls where people would stay, and it looks as though they haven't mowed all summer. It seems as though they left it to the residents and their belongings to help keep the foliage down. However, there were a few issues with it being overgrown by the electrical outlets which is an extreme fire hazards. The worst portion of the camp, however, would have to be its residents. They would yell if we went over 5mph with our vehicles and groups of 6 or more would actively stop their activities to watch as we drove by. A few also happened to scold me for having my hood up even though it was 7:30am and cold with the wind coming from the lake. I would recommend coming here if you plan to stay for a night or two but nothing more. I have heard there's a nicer camp about 4 miles from this one so I would say to try there instead. read more

Went to check out the place to consider getting a spot for a month! Guy on golf cart was rude and blew smoke into our car as he was talking to us! Told us we were trespassing and needed to stop at the main gate to check in. We just said we were looking. Guy was a rude jerk who blocked our car w his golf cart. Worst customer service I've ever experienced at any campground in my life. Owners and employees are all ignorant and don't care about anyone camping there. They will try to pinch every penny from your pocket and still not give a damn. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. So many better places to camp that actually care and are respectful. Make no mistake, one star is generous. It would be ZERO if that were an option. If you ever get the urge to camp at Lake DuBay Shores Campground, I highly recommend you skip it. What a DUMP and the staff are rude, penny pinching tightwads. By the time you leave here, you'll be out several hundred dollars for all their ridiculous fees. If you have any sort of physical handicap as well, don't stay here because there's no way you could use all the facilities. The shower has a pull chain and a 6 inch tile lip. The pull chain is one you'd find used on home arts and crafts and physically hurts your hand to hold it. Guess what, though? No water for you if you can't reach or grasp the chain to pull. At $40 a night PLUS $10 a night for each additional adult past their limit of 2, you'd think you might put that money into maintaining your crap hole instead of pocketing it. Oh and I almost forgot the full freight train that speeds by multiple times a day and the cesspool they call a swim area. SKIP THIS PLACE, IT'S A DUMP. read more

Do yourself a favor and pass on this campground. We came to visit relatives and every time they entered the park, they were charged $5 just to sit around a campfire, to see our camper or to pick me or my husband up to go to a family function. The place is not kept well- dead trees ready to fall, branches and debris everywhere. A dead tree on our site was being "held up" by a rope that was attached to the tree itself, but nothing else. We had to borrow a broom from family to sweep the site so we could even use it. Stairs at site were rotted out with hole 1 ft long- which could cause some serious damage if you stepped in it. Neighbors complained about management and the untidiness. They were charging people for firewood and stating that you couldn't bring in your own. We work from RV- WIFI is horrible. Very few washers and dryers and our dryer didn't dry. Waited an hour and found out there was no heat- they did pay for the new cycle though. I could go on, but life is too short. read more

We had a good experience here. We had issues with our power and the guys were very helpful. It was a problem with our RV not their electrical hook up. The bathrooms weren't fancy but they were kept clean and well supplied. No one was ever rude to us. read more

Decent looking park severely in need of owners that care. Bath houses closed, in a state of disrepair. Porta-pottys in place of the broken plumbing. Trash receptacles remain un emptied and a premium price to stay. Worst of all was returning after a day in the dells to find my camper broken in to. Screens were cut and the inside was ransacked. A call to mgmt to inform them of what's going on in their own backyard was met with rude, unempathetic rhetoric. I would feel safer in a rest area. read more

Based on other reviews I didn't know what to expect when we got here. Are you kidding me? This place is nice! It's on a gorgeous lake with a dedicated swimming area, the grounds are well-maintained, the owner is very nice, the site has granite rock, grass and is nicely shaded and we got a huge delivery of dry oak firewood for $28! It's nicely situated between Point and Wausau. We will definitely be back! read more

Never again. We stayed one night in a pull-through site that was very unlevel. We took a walk through the campground and saw that almost all of the sites are unlevel. There are a lot of seasonal people here, which is not a problem for us. They come for the fishing. The lake is beautiful. Actually this wouldn't be a bad campground except for the fact that if you put your levelers down and don't use boards, the wheels of your motorhome are off the ground. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. The campgrounds are Close together and not shaded. The owners are rude and controlling and nickel and dime you for every little thing. They make rounds all through the night spying on people and making sure every fee has been paid all the way until midnight they were driving around checking on people. It was very creepy. Rented a pontoon boat and it was a pile of junk, dirty and full of spiderwebs and mold. There was no awning and we asked for one with an awning because we had a small child and the current one had been ripped off- they said that would cost $100 more even though that boat wasn't even being used that day. We have camped our whole lives and will never stay here again. read more

We had a seasonal site. We were warned by others this is not a family friendly campground. We should have listened. Playground equipment is rusty, old, and falling apart. Bathrooms have a bad odor, getting anything done takes the owners weeks. We were doubled charged. I would avoid this site, there are much better public campgrounds on the lake. read more
