I assumed her shoes were small, but a week after replacing her shoe collection with the next size up she was still complaining. One night she begged me to make a dr appointment to figure out what was wrong with her toes. I called Dunn Foot & Ankle since Brian Dunn came recommended by many friends. I called on a Friday and they were able to squeeze her in for an appointment the next Monday! Considering how hard it is to get doctor appointments these days that alone is worth 5 stars. We showed up a few minutes early for our 11:10am appt and saw Dr. Dunn within promptly. She explained her toe issues and he took a look at her feet and immediately knew what the issue was- a combination of flat feet, bunions and a lot of tennis! Unfortunately, she had inherited my flat feet issues. Fortunately, he had a solution. He fit her for custom orthotics and showed me a toe spacer to buy on amazon that she could wear when playing tennis. The orthotics will take 3 weeks to arrive, but she tried the toe spacer at tennis tonight and said they already feel much better! I've actually been meaning to get custom orthotics for my flat feet myself so he even squeezed me in right after my daughter. I look forward to picking up our orthotics in a few weeks and had an amazing experience. I can see why Dr. Dunn has so many fans!

I thought this was excessive to I called and spoke with the manager who wanted to blame the costs on our insurance... but I reminded him that if his money hungry company wasn't gouging little old handicapped women in the first place, then the insurance company wouldn't have much to do with it. He was rude and simply told me to go somewhere else. I Did!! The same AFO brace that the hospital uses is $39.95 on Amazon! How do these people sleep at night???

While waiting for Mr. Cohen, I needed to use the restroom (on the other side of the waiting room door). I asked the receptionist, "Excuse me, do you have a restroom?" She very matter-of-factly replied, "My name is Lori and it's over t/here," as if I should have somehow already known her name and she was offended that I hadn't addressed her by it? On my way to the restroom, I let her know my dad had his brace with him (he uses a cane and needed someone to help him carry the brace). She tartly informed me she already knew because she already saw it. Oooookay. We finally saw Mr. Cohen, who was extremely professional and respectful, and easy to talk to. He carefully listened to my father and was able to adjust the brace (new strap, etc) exactly as my dad had hoped, and quickly! The cost was very reasonable, and he did not once pressure my father to purchase a more expensive product. When we were finished meeting with Mr. Cohen, the receptionist shouted across the hall at Mr. Cohen to "KEEP HIM IN THERE" while she completed something at her desk. My dad and I awkwardly waited a few minutes in the exam room until she was ready to accept payment. When it came time to pay, my dad wanted to run his chip card as credit, because he couldn't remember his PIN. This has not presented an issue anywhere else, but boy oh boy was it an issue for Ms. Lori! She condescendingly informed us that her only option was to run it manually, and said she hoped she wouldn't get in trouble for doing it that way because she was running it as though we weren't there in person (?!?!??). Mr. Cohen seems to be an expert in his field, and it is a shame that his clients' first and last points of contact at his office are with an individual who seems so thoroughly disgruntled.
