From end to end the focus is on providing consistent quality care, providing simple explanations for each individual task to the patient. We had a family member who had a severe cut due to a kitchen knife. It was very clear that this was a serious cut needing medical attention. We were concerned and started calling provider acute centers until we contacted NMFMC in Gurnee next to the Holiday Inn. Our regular provider (NSHS) was too busy and there were issues with the other acute care centers. We walked in and instead of waiting we got immediate attention. I also noticed that other people coming in also did not have to wait long if they also had serious issues. Even the chairs were more comfortable than other medical facilities. Because of the severity of the cut a number of medical care tasks were performed. It took a while. While waiting I walked up to one of the medical admens and asked how everything was going. The medical admen pulled a screen identifying and mentioning to me the particular patient care task our family member was expereincing and then telling me the next medical procedure that was performed and telling me how long I would have to wait. Having a healthcare IT background I was immediately impressed. This was the first time I had encountered process oriented patient care. To top it off the Dr A and the J shared some comic relief with our family member during the beginning of the patient - doc - nurse encounter. Laughter and happyness is a great pain deterrent, calming intial concerns. , My suggestion to anyone is even if Northwestern Medical is out of your network, when you have an immediate care need, drive the extra distance, spend a little more, and experience a great healthcare outcome! If you need lab work done make sure to schedule an appointment they no longer do walk ins. There is plenty of parking to accommodate everyone. The encounters with the staff have always been friendly, from the receptionists to nurses to the doctors. They all have great bedside manners and provide a listening ear. The waiting rooms are kept clean and they do a great job of disinfecting in between patients. You know you are in great hands. The only downside is wait time from when you checkin 15 minutes early as required and then have to wait to be called back and it can get backed up depending on how many patients they have.

His hmo insurance was not great and to do an upper endoscopy with dilation in the hospital would have been $5000 out of pocket!!! I took him to Dr. Deyrmenjian and explained our situation. The doctor was so understanding and kind, he offered us a very discounted cash pay cost to do the procedure in office. He took excellent care of my father during the procedure and checked on him after. With routine daily medication and the procedure, he no longer has the difficulty Or choking with swallowing Food. Following this, my husband was having the same issue as my father off and on. Finally decided enough was enough and we went to see Dr. Deyrmenjian last week for consultation. The doctor scheduled him right away for the following Tuesday to perform the in office endoscopy with dilation and even came in on his off day to do it. He is efficient in doing his procedures and explains everything and provides reassurance when needed. The procedure was successful and we were in and out of the office. The office staff including front desk and his nurses are wonderful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Deyrmenjian for your gastrointestinal needs!
