Great place and well kept, people are nice, fellow campers respectful. Beautiful location, very crowded place too, sites are close together. Dogs welcome. Well stocked RV Masters store down the hill if you have any issues. If you are bringing a trailer or RV and expect to have full hookups, please be warned. The location of the sewer hookup on many sites is at the back end of the site that is uphill from your dump outlet and no way you can actually use it even with hose supports. The water hookup is also in some cases a shared 4 bib in the adjacent camp so you will be tripping over your hose. So be prepared to dry camp so your trip isn't stressful. Meaning fill your water and drain your tanks. Electrical worked fine for us. But the outlets are 30a so if you have a 50a rig, bring your adapter. The fire rings can be moved if you need them in another place to not have smoke in your rv so that nice. There is a store and the bathrooms are real toilets not pit, cleaned and kept stocked and they have showers if you need. They have 2 RV dump stations that are free when you stay but only 1 has working water for flushing. Overall , we would camp again with the expectation of dry camping, but the prices should reflect the inability to actually have "full hookups". read more

I found many other reports on review sites describing the same man with his same rude aggressive attitude.The response to the reports are lies from management claiming that they don't even have a gentleman that matches that description working for them(wow) and saying all their camp hosts are young! obviously my video proves their lies. SMH do better people.... Apparently many residents are sueing her I can understand why. A perfect quick escape for a dose of tranquility. The weather during this visit was nothing short of amazing, clear skies and a gentle breeze, that made sitting by the lake an absolute delight. It wasn't crowded so you were not assaulted by loud voices which allowed you to decompress from the hustle that is life. The fish taunted us by jumping out of the water close enough to see but far enough to escape our line. It was perfect. read more

Beautiful park in Idyllwild. Came here fishing while we were visiting but my party didn't catch anything. We spent sunrise to about noon and it was nice to be outdoors and enjoy this view. Pay for parking and find a spot. I think you can camp there too. Dogs are allowed which is always a thing for me - just have to be on leash. read more

Stayed here for the weekend and had an amazing time. We rented 4 cabins and a campsite to celebrate a 40th birthday. Even though quiet time was @10pm as long as the music was turned off we were still able to enjoy our time by the fire. It was clean and very enjoyable. Katelyn at the front desk was absolutely so welcoming. She was friendly and seemed like she enjoyed what she does. I like how to listened and reassured that they were really there to make our stay magical. Also Arianna was so nice during our reservation process. Beyond helpful. It was cold, but wonderful. After all we were here in March. Best to go during the summer, but we wanted to just get away. It is a hidden gem tucked away in the San Jacinto Mountains. Maybe because it was chilly, we had the place much to ourselves. The fishing was pretty good and we camped one night and had fresh fish. The lake is serene and beautiful. There is lots of hiking to do and you will find lovely streams. Behind the lake is beautiful forests that are just breathtaking. There is sand and RVs are welcome. You forget that the City is nearby and you can just relax for a day or a week, whatever you have time to do. This is a must stop for nature lovers. There was staff there even on this cold day. They were wonderful and gave us great tips. Next time we will come for a 3 day weekend. It is wonderful. read more

This has become one of my favorite lakes in Southern California. Although the fishing isn't great, it is good. You can not compare the air quality, the cleanliness, and the natural beauty of this lake to others. The staff that does social media is above most major companies in communications and should be commended. I wish there were some solar lights put up by the parking lot and maybe some painted signs with arrows so I could stop getting lost, but hey, I make it back in one piece every time so far. The people at the store are also awesome, friendly, and very helpful. Please scroll through the pictures to see what I mean. Pretty nice lake for both hiking around and fishing. My recommendation is to take the trail along the lake towards the dam where you'll find it less windy. Here you will also notice the water is deeper and better for fishing. Parking around the lake requires an adventure pass on your vehicle Clean bathrooms and areas for a bbq and picnic read more

This is a nice lake to fish but not for boating. Speed limit is 10 mph and you are not allowed to get off and swim unless in a designated area. We took a big Mable but weren't allowed to tow it. When we arrived we weren't notified of the speed limit. After about an hour staff came over and the lady yelled at us. (Yikes). Three stars because it does look like a cool camping spot. Note to management- yes I understand you are a private facility, however perhaps your staff can approach visitors a bit more friendly. read more

I am currently here and we got here early not realizing they open at 7. No problem. They charged us an early check in fee but our site was still occupied. No problem. We just went and parked the rv next to the boat ramp. Now we have been waiting almost an hour for the inspection person to come so we can get in the lake. After our 3rd call they said that the person should be here soon.... I will keep you updated but it's not starting off like we wanted....i had been looking forward to this all week and now I am disappointed....hopefully it gets better. read more

Maybe its because i don't go outdoors enough, but I didn't expect Lake Hemet to be this beautiful! Our host Bill was hands down the best camp host I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I felt genuinely cared for the entire stay. We struggled to light our campfire and in he swooped in to save the day. We had trouble locating places on the site, he made himself available to direct us to the right location. Tips before camping: - it gets very cold in the evening (do what u will with that info) - toilets and showers available in some locations, others seem to have a old school hole in the ground. read more

Lake Hemet is a nice place to camp and isn't too far from Inland Empire. It takes us about an hour from Pechanga (Temecula)to here. The facility itself is really nice and clean. Cabins are super cute and just the right amount of space for a quick get away. The cabins do have a mini fridge, microwave, and tv with a DVD player, or the bunk beds are spacious (queen size) and a pull out couch. The cabins also come equipped with a heater. Keeps the whole cabin nice and toasty. I did not spot an AC unit; so keep in mind for summer time. The main area for bathrooms and showers are clean. But the stalls are super tight in space. Over all; facility is really nice and clean with gorgeous view. Camp host BILL was also such a pleasant man that came to check on us each evening and morning. The kids loved him as he surprised them with goodies. He was super thoughtful and seemed to take care of the facility like it were his own. Made our stay extra special. read more

We had another wonderful weekend at Lake Hemet. We rented a cabin. Check in was fairly easy. After arriving at the assigned cabin and getting settled in, Camphost Bill came by to say hi and making sure we were doing ok. Camphost Bill would make regular visits throughout the weekend to make sure we are happy and everything was ok. I booked my time with them in January. Long before their fishing tournament. Between that time and our stay they applied new restrictions that prevented us from fishing. That was why we and others came!!!! The new management needs to get themselves together. If you want to change the rules then update your already pre-reservations!!!! I would have been ok what ever and rescheduled but, no!! We were not told until we came!! Unprofessional and to say yeah fish near your cabin were not going to run out there every five minutes to stop you is a joke. The had there patrol out there forcing even those in the forestry side out. This new management need to to learn new and better practices, we we're making this a yearly vacation spot but after this mess we will be opening up our options to other places. And since our family has fished here for years this is extremely disappointing. If you want to change the rules the make due guests who pay to stay whether a camp site or a cabin know what to expect BEFORE they come to the gate! Poor management, poor leadership and poor customer service overall. If you go on my profile for Facebook I was allowed to fish because we were pre booked. The new management is so fake. Holy moly, camp host, Bill...made this trip for us! From the moment we pulled into our beautiful site, he greeted us and gave us the ins and outs of the grounds. So welcoming and even remembered our names-which is insane for how large the campground is! This was our first trip in our new travel trailer and we will most definitely be returning campers because of the experience we had this past weekend! Thank you to all the staff who were not only friendly but, maintain that large of a campground so beautifully. LOVE IT HERE!!! Amazing staff Super Clean Outstanding Friendliness Excellent amenities Remarkable care/concern that you have everything you need This is our second time coming and I have to say making the reservation was SUPER easy, we got our favorite cabin...again...and they even called to confirm a couple days before. When we checked in the cabin was VERY clean, and even had the bed made (like I was in a hotel). There was no crazy odor that sometimes you get from cleaning supplies, it was fresh and clean like you were in a cabin in the mountains. They knew the weather had been warm so we thought it was extra nice that they put fans in each cabin...and OMG these fans are AMAZING..I'm buying one for our house now. They are NOT the tall fan that just blows back and forth..its can circulate 360degrees! AMAZING!! Shortly after we parked and were unloading Bill, the Camp Host came by to see if we needed anything and asked if we would be making a fire. We decided that we weren't going to on this trip b/c we didn't want to pack any extra food to cook. I had met Bill on my last stay and needless to say, we bonded. He is the ABSOULTLE NICEST MAN! He came by the first time we stayed with his pups (one of which has since passed :(  ) but he remembered me b/c I love dogs so much that he was sure to come by and visit with the one who was staying with him on the camp grounds (See pics). Bill is TOP CLASS! He would come by every camper (tent/RV/Cabin), to make sure you had everything you needed, take your garbage out and I especially thought it was so nice of him, that he went to the campers who were next to us in tents to remind the mom that there is a lot of security and staff around should the kids want to go down to play bball at the courts etc...telling her that definitely put her mind at ease b/c I saw the boys get their bball and head straight to the courts =) There was some SUPER crazy weather while we were there and my husband was out on his kayak (motorized), but the office staff where you rent the boats assured us that he took the proper steps by docking the kayak, and going up the hill (across from where we all could see him). The storm didn't last long, but it was a little scary being that he was out on the water and I was sitting in my car working. The ladies at the boat rental office (Dee and ?) were so nice they told me to come inside the office where they were so I hung out w/ them until the rain subsided and my man could get back into his kayak and go back out fishing for an hour before the next FLASH FLOOD warning came! Danielle at the front gate (and the guy working with her) were an absolute gem. They are soooo friendly, and so nice. It was great to interact with such positive caring people during our short stay that it always makes us want to come back! Lastly, I am going to write another review for the market, but in short...if you need ANYTHING..they got it! They even have hot sandwiches on those flash flood days! Please Lake Hemet, keep Bill!!! He is such a great asset to the camp grounds. He mentioned that his time may be coming to a close but we would love to see that smiling face when we come back again. He is so personable. You can tell he REALLY cares about the camp grounds and wants to make sure everyone is enjoying their time. Lake Hemet is a hidden spot with so much to offer. Thanks for an amazing stay, even though we went through several flash flood warnings, thunder and lighting storms! We enjoyed our visit! read more

We went glamping during the 4th of July weekend and had such a good time! Our glamping site was clean and also the bathroom and shower rooms were clean too. Inside the glamping tent had two full size bed and our family of 4 was able to sleep there comfortably. The linens were all clean and fresh which took my fear away from bed bugs/lice etc. Overall the experience was awesome and I MUST MENTION OUR HOST BILL WAS SO KIND!!! He came by morning and night to make sure our stay was comfortable. Next time we visit this campsite we want to see Bill again!!! Thank you Bill!!! read more

This past weekend was our third time there and I'm not sure if I will come back again. The first time was ok during the month of April the sites weren't crowded and it was quiet. Fast forward to 4th of July there campsites over overfilled with people, loud music after 10 pm, loud generators running all day and some sites had 4 cars (I thought maximum was 2) and bathrooms were not clean nor could accommodate the amount of people there, the couple that was camping with us on a tent ended up using our bathroom in the trailer because they couldn't get in to shower. This past weekend we stayed there again, the sites were not crowded like the Fourth of July weekend since it was low 30s at night. What bugged us the most on both times were the generators from RV/trailers running all day. Most people go camping to have quiet and relaxing time not to hear a generator run from 7am to 11pm every day. Yes you read it right the campers next to us had 3 trailers forming a U shaped campground and they ran the generator before and after quiet hours and no one said a thing, not even the camp host who drove by a few times. My feedback is if you are going to allow travel trailers and RVs in dry sites then make a rule of no generators period if they want to power all their stuff then they can get a full hook up site so that way the others aren't listening to their generators running 14 hrs a day. One plus is their dump site for RVs are really spacious and the people that work there are really nice and polite. LH campground please make rule for no generators or you will be loosing on people going camping there. read more

A very nice view from our campsite in the Bass Camp which is #5. The sites are not on top of each other, and the wail of coyotes at night is pretty cool. This is also a painless area to reach from our home in Rancho Mirage. Avery cool weekend getaway within an hour. There are basketball courts, tennis, volleyball, horseshoes and you can fish if you like. I also saw some kayaks and paddle boards on the water. Bring your own wood, as the pine they sell in the store is a rip and it burns like oil. We will definitely return. read more

First and last time. Not sure if the other reviews were paid for because I didn't get an offer. Sites a the size of postage stamps and they cram people on top of one another. I literally heard the people in the next campsite farting they were so close. Hosts drive along in golf carts. They don't enforce the 2 car or 8 people per site. Lines for the toilet can get 5-7 deep. They have staff making routine bathroom visits to sweep out and restock toilet paper but still ridden with flies and stench. Went to take a shower at campsite 4 and 2 stalls didn't have water pressure or shower heads so I found that the handicap stall had a working shower. Went to rent a pontoon. Booked a 2 hour. We're in the office at 1115. Vicki tried to have us back at 1 but we had to point out the obvious that they were shoring us on our time. She wasn't very friendly nor willing to work with us. We don't leave the dock till 1130 because she's helping people in the store. So we get shorted on lake time because they can't keep the office staffed(oh it gets better). So we get all the way to the dam, set the anchor, fish for a minute, then decide to relocate. Low and behold, Vicki didn't secure the dock line and it got wrapped into the prop when we came to a stop at the dam. We called into the office as Vicki told us but spent 10 minutes in their phone system before telling someone our situation. They told us they were in their way. We're attempting to lift the motor and think of ways to pull the dock line from the prop. 15 minutes go by and we call again only to have them say "oh we're on our way". We cut the line and remove the line from the prop with our feet. We motor close by to another spot then 10 minutes later the rescue boat pulls up with Vicki and another worker. They still wanted us back to the dock at 115 . It was clearly their responsibility to make sure all docking lines were secure because she secure the lines at the front of the boat when we left. Overall, not a fan. The campsites were so damn small. read more
