Beautiful and clean lake. I've been to this lake multiple times, day and night, and it's always nice. Tons of stars in the night sky when the moon isn't so bright. Clean air, and just a peaceful vibe.

We went there for having a picnic and riding a bike. This place is awesome for that kind of activity! Clean restrooms, enough space and shadow. Perfect place for spending time with family!

Breath taking experience.. I can't wait to visit at sunrise.. it was worth all those slow, careful winding roads..

Pretty nice lake for both hiking around and fishing. My recommendation is to take the trail along the lake towards the dam where you'll find it less windy. Here you will also notice the water is deeper and better for fishing. Parking around the lake requires an adventure pass on your vehicle Clean bathrooms and areas for a bbq and picnic

It truly is a beautiful lake. We had a campground overseeing the lake. Great place to make memories with friends and family. The area was kept clean. There are restroom and showers that are free. Camp host named Bill was a nice guy.

Maybe its because i don't go outdoors enough, but I didn't expect Lake Hemet to be this beautiful! Our host Bill was hands down the best camp host I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I felt genuinely cared for the entire stay. We struggled to light our campfire and in he swooped in to save the day. We had trouble locating places on the site, he made himself available to direct us to the right location. Tips before camping: - it gets very cold in the evening (do what u will with that info) - toilets and showers available in some locations, others seem to have a old school hole in the ground.

Lake Hemet is a nice place to camp and isn't too far from Inland Empire. It takes us about an hour from Pechanga (Temecula)to here. The facility itself is really nice and clean. Cabins are super cute and just the right amount of space for a quick get away. The cabins do have a mini fridge, microwave, and tv with a DVD player, or the bunk beds are spacious (queen size) and a pull out couch. The cabins also come equipped with a heater. Keeps the whole cabin nice and toasty. I did not spot an AC unit; so keep in mind for summer time. The main area for bathrooms and showers are clean. But the stalls are super tight in space. Over all; facility is really nice and clean with gorgeous view. Camp host BILL was also such a pleasant man that came to check on us each evening and morning. The kids loved him as he surprised them with goodies. He was super thoughtful and seemed to take care of the facility like it were his own. Made our stay extra special.

We had another wonderful weekend at Lake Hemet. We rented a cabin. Check in was fairly easy. After arriving at the assigned cabin and getting settled in, Camphost Bill came by to say hi and making sure we were doing ok. Camphost Bill would make regular visits throughout the weekend to make sure we are happy and everything was ok. Just like past experiences, Camphost Bill made us feel safe and made it another memorable experience for my family. Thank you Camphost Bill and we will see you again on our next visit.

The end of the trail is close to 9000 foot elevation with incredible views of the surrounding mountains and there's an old fire tower at the top. I'd say the first 2 1/2 miles are the most physically challenging. It's a pretty steep grade and it just grinds on you. Once you get past that it's much easier. We got started a little bit later in the day then we initially planned so we did not do the version of this trail that included the Caramba Trail. We've done it before and the Garmin clocked 13 miles. For the first 2 miles there were a lot of bugs. I was wishing I had a little hat. Two of them got up my nose dang it. After that, no more bugs until you got to the top and then there are some bees by the fire tower but not too crazy. You do have to get a permit, you can get it from the Ranger station in town. But if you get it in the most busy summer months before Labor Day, you actually have to fax in a permit request ahead of time and they only allow 30 permits per day. You also have to either have an adventure pass for parking or you can have the America the beautiful pass and put it on your dashboard. There are bathrooms available at the trailhead. No water source along the trail. I drank almost my whole reservoir which is 2.5 L. Perfect way to spend my 7 year Anniversary with my love

It did not. Just switchbacks. Endless switchbacks. Furthermore the snack shack at the top was closed. If you're looking for Takis, I would strongly recommend sourcing them elsewhere because this peak will not be assisting.
