Their office is very busy, but I am surprised at how quickly they get you in and out of there. And even though they are busy, the staff have always been very kind and helpful. My biggest complaint is if your doctor sends them an order, I usually give them two weeks to call me and make the appointment like they are supposed to, and then I call them to get the appointment. A 1 star is liberal and I would never come back if I had a better choice. All of their facilities are bad. Poor management for sure. You will have your name "yelled" at least twice. I called and got a schedule time for a CT. Stop in to pick up 3 bottles of Readi-Cat. Starting the night before to drink the stuff. Finished up the next day before my schedulel time. Arrived and was told I was not on the schedule. I have the paperwork in front of me tell me what date and time. I am assuming that the insurance company didn't give their blessing, the least Lakes Medical Imaging could have done is call me the day before and cancel the CT till they got approval, but I guess their phones were down. This is the 2nd time this has happened and I am still waiting for a call back on the first one, its been 1 1/2 years. read more

Super disappointed!! They tried to delay follow up imaging from a serious illness to my elderly father. He has a Medicare Advantage HMO which requires authorization. I made the appointment 17 days in advance for this reason! They blamed his insurance, then his PCP, for not getting an auth. Turns out, they didn't request it until one day before the appointment! I had to pay $485 out of pocket to get him seen and they couldn't even produce an itemized receipt after the visit. I imagine they SCAM seniors with HMOs like this frequently. I went here for an MRI 3 years ago, results from them. I need 3 way heart bypass, uterine tumor, kidney tumor. The Dr told me I needed urgent care because of my bad condition, probable cancer of uterus and kidney. I was prepared to meet the Lord. Well guess what the heart dr did all kinds of tests, nothing at all wrong with my heart, next step the gynecologist did tests and D&C nothing wrong either. Last step was kidney dr, you guessed it after many tests, lean bill of health. Nothing wrong with me. One year later they sent me a letter telling me, I urgently needed care for my kidney condition. First time to LMI today for mammogram. People in the office, both clerical staff and techs, were extremely friendly. Techs were very knowledgeable and very good about explaining what was going on. Also, their system of patient/work flow was excellent; things were done and patients handled quickly and efficiently with none of the fuss and confusion I've seen in sosme other imaging centers. A small spot was found, and they were able to not only do the follow up study the same day but also get the ultrasound done today. And the radiologist was able to read all the studies in "real time," so that before I left I knew the spot was benign. Being able to do all of that quickly saved me days and possibly weeks of worry. Very very pleased! Look forward to seeing them for my follow up visit in 6 months. So glad I found them. read more

Waited one month for a call to schedule appt and then 3 weeks more for the MRI for a mass on side and fall injury! Hopefully it gets better when I go for the test and I don't have to suffer with the pain much longer. I have used this imaging service since moving to The Villages 8 years ago. The in-office experience is usually very good. The technicians are very efficient and good at what they do. With one exception, my experience with the office staff has been fine as well. HOWEVER..... THE BILLING DEPARTMENT IS A SCAM IN ACTION! Although they have had my Medicare and supplemental insurance on file and ask for it again every time I use their services, I HAVE NEVER BEEN PROPERLY BILLED! THEY NEVER SUBMIT THE BILL TO EITHER MEDICARE OR MY INSURANCE, BUT INSTEAD SEND ME A BILL FOR THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE SERVICES AND EXPECT ME TO PAY IT UPON RECEIPT!!! My recent services took place in March and June and in September I received a bill, without it ever having been submitted to insurance, for the FULL AMOUNT! The billing office never answers the phone or returns phone calls in a timely manner. They must think older people are stupid and just pay the bills without looking at them. I am done using this company and intend to tell all my doctors to find another company to send me to for routine services like mammograms and bone density scans. I need a PET scan. Received a call from the imaging center saying that my insurance denied the PET Scan and we needed to schedule. They told me that they already submitted an appeal. I told them that the doctor wanted to do the appeal. I was told that they always do the appeal for the doctors and always get an approval. Called today to see if they received approval and was told they don't do the appeals only the doctors office does the appeal. So who is lying and why? Called the doctors office and they had no idea what was going on so apparently Lake Medical lies again. Do they not realize they are dealing with people's health? The doctor's office assured me they will get to the bottom of this. Lake Medical Imaging dropped the ball as usual. read more

My doctor ordered a CT scan of my lungs. At the appointment with Lake Medical Imaging I was told I needed my Tricare insurance card. Tricare does not give insurance cards as I explained. Then I was told I needed to self pay. I had the gal who knew nothing about Tricare call someone who did. That person told me that Tricare never has paid them so I needed to pay. I told them no - I'm going to and to cancel the appointment. I went home and called Tricare who informed me that if my doctor ordered the scan, they would pay for it. It seems that Lake Medical Imaging wants me to pay and they'll bill Tricare and get their money too. Seems illegal to me. I would not recommend this facility because they either have no clue about Tricare which is a huge insurance company or they don't like what Tricare pays them and they want the patient to pay as well. I took off of work for an MRI. I went, got fully unclothed and they told me I had to reschedule because THEY didn't call ahead of time to get my insurance approved. The second time around, again had to take off of work to go, three different nurses blew four different veins of mine trying to get the contrast in and rescheduled me AGAIN because they ran out of places to stick. Then a receptionist had the nerve to tell me I should've told them ahead of time that I'm a "tough stick". Was it wrong of me to trust that there would at least be one highly trained medical professional at this facility that could inject contrast into my arm without blowing every vein in the process? The THIRD time around, at this point my boss was mad, I got my MRI done and received negative results on a tumor that they got the direct measurements of in an Ultrasound in 2016. It has sense grown and is obviously there yet according to the highly technological MRI machine, there is no trace of a tumor in my arm that they literally got measurements on. I wasted my time, went through pain, and wasted $250.00 on this bull crap. I'm never using this facility again for ANYTHING. read more

I arrived early as requested for my MRI. After checking in I sat in the waiting room for over an hour before they called me back. They had me put on a gown and took me back into this room with a MRI machine that had to be the very first machine ever built. A closed type with fixed bench and no way to place a person with a real spinal or neck injury inside of. The tried to push pillows under my back and elevate me so that all of my weight was on my injured neck. Immediately after placing me into the machine I had a mussel spasm that prevented me from having the procedure completed at this facility. UNBELIEVABLE! Due to my injury and past surgeries I have had many MRI and CT Scans. Never have I seen such antiquated equipment accompanied by such poorly trained personal with regards as to handle a patient with a real injury. Not to mention the rude insurance supervisor at the front desk who really needs to read the book how to win friends and influence enemies. If your Doc tries to send you here DON'T DO IT ! I think this place is nothing more than an insurance mill robing both the patient of proper diagnosis and billing your insurance for something they have no business trying to do with that equipment and personal read more
