The only upside is that I did receive an MRI just one month prior to the bone scan and paid with cash for this procedue. I gave cash but this payment did go thru. Two of the three worked in healthcare before they retired. All three people had the highest compliments for every aspect of their experience. All three went at different times. One during a weekday, one at early evening and the third over the weekend. In all three cases they found every employee to be so helpful, kind and customer focused. The quality of the care they received was excellent. The facility was clean and well maintained. There was simply nothing negative that could be said about their experience! She took the time to come in, close the door, sit down, and ask me what was bothering me -- even though I wasn't on her schedule at all. My husband was transferred by ambulance to the ER due to a fall, a uti and confusion. The ER was…read moreso very busy that day but they kept close watch on him evaluating his needs, setting up testing, etc. and within 3-4 hours he was headed to a room in the Neurology Dept. The care on that floor was wonderful with the nurses and techs being so very kind and helpful. As he was confused and wanted out of the bed during those first days, it took a close watch and sitters were provided to be sure he didn't fall again. He improved greatly with their care and we are so grateful for each worker who spent time and energy helping him improve. Leesburg is a lovely facility but the caring people make it a community hospital instead of just an institution.

He was put in retrains, laid in feces for almost 2 days with it caked on his back. Someone put a clean large pad under him to cover it up. The room smelled so bad no one would listen to me till he was discharged and I saw what was under large pad. No wonder he was trying to get out of bed no one would listen to him. He was put on Valium to shut keep him quiet. A nurse on the third floor said they put him on Valium to calm him down. No this was to quiet him. He should have never been put on Valium without someone telling me and what about the side effects are. This was done after I went home 6:00 PM each night to change my cloths. In the meantime, they even switched his room from 214 (second floor) to 316 (third floor) in a ICE COLD room around 10:00 PM. The nurse said it was to kill germs. I arrived around 10:10 PM that night because a nurse called me and said they were moving him. He was causing trouble? What, he is a quiet man. He was sleeping in feces. I took him to our Primary Care Doctor in Lake Deaton and told her what they did. She talk with him and examined him. There was no compassion or kindness in your hospital for a 78 year old man who has a little Dementia. Leesburg UF hospital is the worst. So many things are wrong with this hospital. When I got home cleaned and showered him. I found a heart shaped foamed patch covering his bottom. stopping the poop from coming out. It was so disgusting I took the foam patch in a baggy to the front desk of the 3rd floor and asked to see a manager. They called 3 security guys just because I wanted to report a very bad problem. The nurses snickered and told me to remove that bag it was not sanitary. I said it was not sanitary for you to have a patient lay in feces for approximately two days. Your nurses and nurse supervisor need to be retrained to show some compassion, kindness and finally do their job professionally. Where were your bedside manners, every time I left at 6:00 to go home and change? Seems your night shift really needs more training.

After being taken to a back room, a woman entered and stated she was there to take information. She…read morethen informed me she would be inserting an IV and performing a test before administering contrast dye. When she inserted the IV, she was unable to get it to work. Instead of removing and restarting properly, she repeatedly moved the needle in and out of my vein. This was uncomfortable and concerning. Eventually, she removed the IV and wrapped my arm. She called for another woman to assist, but when that person was unavailable, a man nearby stated he could help. She agreed and left the room. The second staff member applied the tourniquet extremely tightly. I told him it was very tight. When he inserted the IV needle, I immediately told him it was very painful and that something did not feel right. Despite this, he continued. When he attempted to inject fluid, it infiltrated into my arm rather than into the vein, and the area around the site visibly swelled. Only then did he remove the needle. I have never had difficulty with IV placement or blood draws in the past, including blood work done just two weeks prior without issue. This experience was painful, distressing, and felt improperly handled. I am especially concerned that my repeated statements about pain and discomfort were not taken seriously.
