Every time I come in I'm charged a different price. One employee tried explaining why that could be but it didn't make any sense. I order the same thing every time and it's always a $2-$3 difference. I feel like when the employees see I'm paying with cash they up charge me to make tips. They don't keep track of cash charges either, which is sus. They have a monthly flavor, and they encourage you to make up your own. When my car broke down in thier parking lot some one brought me water and asked if I would like to wait inside out of the heat and use their free wifi while I waited for the tow truck. Let me start by saying that the tea I ordered was delicious! I tried the açaí berry lemonade with watermelon aloe. It was quite sweet but not overpowering and tasted pretty good for a sunny afternoon drink Nevertheless, the set-up is a bit weird. As a first timer, I was very confused by the idea of having 2 drinks. I had just stopped by to get a more healthy drink on my way to run errands so having 2 made no sense to me. Because of this, I ordered just 1, which happened to be the tea. For this, it was $5 and the drink was fairly small with a LOT of ice in it. In my opinion, it was good but a bit over priced. It was a bit odd to me that all their drinks are advertised as being nutritionally beneficial but there is no evidence or explanation behind these things (for example, the aloe shot). Overall, the service was good, as the girls working were very friendly and willing to show me how the menu worked. The drink prices aren't clearly stated anywhere which made for a frustrating time when trying to figure out what to order. I don't think I'd come by for a to-go order again, however, it may be a good atmosphere for getting a couple drinks and studying! In my opinion, I'd be willing to give it another go in a different situation but this experience wasn't overly impressive to start off with and I'd need some changes to come back. read more

As I entered, I was warmly welcomed by a team of bubbly and energetic baristas and given a brief form to fill out since it was my "first time" at Lake Michigan Nutrition. They serve a myriad of nutritional tea (about 10, mostly fruit flavor) and shake flavors (over 100+ that mostly comprise of sweet dessert options). "Nutritional" I.e. their teas and shake are low-calorie, sweetened with stevia and are able to be customized towards your fitness goals. Want healthier skin? Add some collagen! Leaner muscle mass? Add a fat burner! Probiotics? More protein? Fiber? Yes, yes and yes. There's a plethora of options here to satisfy, lest you not meet your preferences in taste or your nutrition goals. I loved the customizable options for every choice and that you could cater to every persons individual taste here. How the ordering process went was a tad unusual as you order both a shake and tea per one single order slip, which is what makes the experience a little pricier than a normal café (my total came to ~16), but this is a nutrition drink bar-- you visit to supplement a healthy diet and lifestyle. Let me tell you-- my strawberry-watermelon tea ACTUALLY DID complement my coffee cake protein shake VERY WELL, out of pleasant surprise! It is with great thanks to businesses like these that provide an experience in good health to people of all kinds that visit here! I never knew that protein shake bars existed until recently. I'm HUGE on healthy living/exercising/eating in general, so when I realized that places like Lake Michigan Nutrition existed, I got super excited! I first discovered Mix which is located in East Grand Rapids. I was impressed but found that Lake Michigan Nutrition had a LOT more flavors and options available. Essentially, both places have the same products, but LKN has done a better job at building their menu and options available. Lake Michigan Nutrition also made it easy to understand exactly WHAT you were getting and WHY and HOW it would benefit me. The shakes are very filling and they even have some dairy free shake options. Every now and then I like to make a meal replacement shake when I'm in a hurry, and now Lake Michigan Nutrition can make it for me (and much better than I would have been able to make it!) This is just a front for a MLM (which if you don't know is essentially a pyramid scheme) called Herbalife. Look up the pictures of their shakes and teas and tell me they don't look the exact same. Also, Herbalife has very specific rules for how you can name storefronts so most Herbalife storefronts are named "[streetname] nutrition". I usually have good experiences here but today took FOREVER to get my shake. Had to remind them that I was waiting on mine and by the time I got it, it was almost 30 min later so in total, I was waiting for 45 min. Yall serve an absolute garbage product. You dont tell your customers the prices prior to ordering. You serve shakes that are literally powder, water and ice. Forcing me $10 for it as well as blue raspberry tea thats the color green and taste nothing of the flavor. There's not even real fruit in any of the drinks at all. My friends and I love Lake Michigan Nutrition! The employees are always kind and helpful and they have tried the products and know what to recommend! The shakes are awesome pre or post workout and the teas are hydrating and delicious (I prefer the unsweetened ones). Know that they are protein "meal replacement" shakes NOT smoothies. Despite what some other reviews say, I think the shakes from LMN taste excellent! You have to keep in mind that they are protein shakes so they aren't going to be ice cream or fruit based. They use sugar free pudding mix to thicken them and they are sweetened with Stevia based products. In my experience, they are far better than any protein drink product I've tried before. I also love how friendly the girls who work here are. If you ask questions regarding the prices, ingredients, etc., all the employees I've come across have been super helpful and able to guide you in a direction to maximize your experience and health results. Also, if you're hoping to try the products at a lower price, follow them on Instagram and watch out for "Customer Appreciation Day"s. You are forced to buy 2 drinks (a shake and a tea or coffee) and if you don't want one or the other you still get charged the full price. The shake is just powder, water, and ice. No real fruit used or anything even edible in my opinion. I couldn't even stomach the shake it was so bad. $21+ for 4 (disgusting) drinks that we didn't even want. I will never go back to this place again. So disappointed. On top of that they don't even tell you the prices or have them displayed anywhere in the store or on the menu. The most overpriced, overhyped place I have ever been to. Highly do NOT recommend Lake Michigan Nutrition (unless you believe the lies that Herbalife will make you lose weight or whatever people believe it will do for you).
