I also wanted to ensure she's a strong swimmer as early as possible, because let's face it, accidents happen and kids do fall into pools, no matter how careful you are. My daughter has officially successfully completed Backfloat Baby 1 and started Backfloat Baby 2 about two weeks ago. We were SO SO lucky to have Christine for our first instructor, and I really hope we are able to have her again for a future class. She put my anxiety at ease, and handled my daughter so well (can you imagine how hard it is to get a 6 month old who loves to lick pool water to actually close her mouth long enough to be submerged under water for 4 seconds?!) I've also seen her with some of the more rambunctious older kids, and she has the patience of an angel. I really hope my daughter comes to trust our new instructor as much as she did Christine so that we can have a successful Backfloat Baby 2 class and continue on our swim journey. All of the employees here are so sweet, and I'm so glad that we chose FOSS for our daughter.

Massages and personal training sessions are available at an additional cost or by using member points, which are nice options to have on site. The locker rooms are always clean and have a steam room, whirlpool and dry sauna. My only complaint would be the length of time it's been taking to renovate the whirlpool in the women's locker room and the men's locker room. The staff is great and most have been around for many years and are always helpful and friendly!

I've yet to use their other amenities at this facility, but I'm looking forward to using their upgraded gym and sauna area in the near future once my schedule permits. You seriously cannot beat the cost at under $60/month membership and $10 drop in babysitting, or $30/month babysitting for during your workouts (see schedule, as they're only able to offer babysitting during certain times).

After 8 years as a customer I've decided to go elsewhere. My daughter went thru the program…read morewithout many issues. My son, however, has been slower to learn. After the 3rd time taking the same class, I was denied the "swimmers guaranteed". Which states that if your swimmer repeats a level 2x they will be offered assistance the 3rd time. If they have to repeat the level a 4th time, it's is supposed to be "on us". I'm being told that because two of my sons attempts at the level were "camps" ie 4x a week for 2 weeks and 4x a week for a month, that I didn't qualify for extra help in his 3rd go round because "camps don't count" and likewise the 4th "on us" session per the technicality. I have been at the school for numerous turnovers that have directly affected the quality and consistency of their programs. I have never once complained. Now, when my son is struggling, I have been shown no understanding or treatment like a valued customer of 8 years. Shame on you.

Julia, Jennifer, Dayonara and Jeremy have all been fantastic. My kids have made such great progress, it is mind blowing. They seem a little pricey but there are options to keep costs down if you can be flexible with your schedule. And frankly, all swim schools may be pricey now, I have no idea. It is always clean, and safe. Everybody is in such a good mood. A great environment for kids. Highly recommended.

All of the instructors bring unique teaching techniques to each class, keeping the classes engaging. Angie, the owner, is so high energy and brings so many positive vibes to each class - think Poppy from Trolls - I highly recommend taking her Monday morning class! The best part about Blue Sky is that everyone becomes a part of your extended family in such a short period of time. I love being a member here!! The only downfall is that there is only air conditioning in the yoga room, so I often found myself skipping kickboxing classes when the temperature crept towards the 80's and 90's, because I have no wish to faint during an exercise class. Other than that, you're truly missing out if you haven't scoped out this studio yet - AND THE FIRST CLASS IS FREE!!

You can park in the back or on the street. Your first class is always free. I tried a yoga class and then took advantage of the October special - $25 for a week of unlimited classes. I tried kickboxing, hot yoga, warm yoga, and I brought my husband and daughter in for a trial class as well. Bottled water and snacks are offered for a voluntary donation. Free small towels, use of mats & props, and free hot tea as you leave. Lexi Wynn yoga bags, yoga accessories and jewelry by local artists are also for sale. I've been in a rut at my gym so I checked out Blue Sky to see if mixing things up might get me motivated again. I tried & loved the kickboxing class because you are actually kicking and punching a bag. There is nothing as satisfying as finally getting to your workout and finding that your jab/uppercut has some oomph to it! Angie, the owner, teaches both kickboxing and yoga, and I've appreciated the sense of community she is trying to build both by being a resident of L'ville and business owner but also in taking the time to get to know her clients (by name) and connecting clients to the community. This month she was taking donations of gently used and new bras to donate to The Haven. Next month will be donations of non-perishable food items for the food banks (and free Friday Happy Hour yoga with a food donation!). She also offers some fusion classes, and family classes that would be great for parents with younger children. Prices are very competitive. And, a little secret. You can share a multi-class pass with family members! I actually had no intention of sharing my pass with my daughter and husband, but what a deal! My only fear?
