A true oasis in the desert. I almost don't want to share how incredible this part of Lake Mead NRA is so that it stays beautiful. Here's the irony--I lived in Las Vegas for 15 years and had never been to Lake Mohave until I moved to Phoenix and came back for a work project at Cottonwood Cove. Man oh man do I wish I had known of this beauty in all the years I felt stuck in a overbuilt, dirty city. My zen level would have been far better had I taken periodic trips to the lake. I mean, I've obviously been to Lake Mead but it's not special. The surrounding desert is, but the lake is murky and gross. Lake Mohave has no serious bath ring, has beaches, and has beautiful clear water. The Cottonwood Cove area even has a store with tons of beverages and snacks at reasonable prices. I definitely will be back in the future for some R&R in this desert oasis. Definitely do yourself a favor and spend some time relaxing on a boat here, I really don't think you'll regret it. read more

An awesome find on a roadtrip from Flagstaff to Hoover Dam. Pulled off of Highway 40 on a whim to explore Lake Mohave and after several long minutes on winding narrow road amongst the desolate desert landscape, the road opens up and you arrive at the lake, which laid beautiful against the backdrop of the desert landscape and gave off an aura of mystery and tranquility and rest. People were canoeing and paddle boarding and fishing. Met a young conservationist from the fish hatchery there who showed off the baby fish which he had taken from the lake to nurture in the hatchery. We sat by the lake for awhile and enjoyed the atmosphere and scenery, but wished we had more time dedicated to the lake. Will definitely be back and do some canoeing next time! read more

Beautiful lake! Even on Memorial Day it wasn't so packed that you couldn't have fun. We loved our visits, and especially appreciated the (new trial run) shuttle service since we were parked in the overflow lots. My young niece enjoyed learning about Quagga mussels from the workers who had various items displayed that had been infested by them. We will return, and look forward to it! read more

Had great time here, I preferred the weekdays before it become over crowded. The lake is for free, so what are you waiting for? Come here before the winter gets there. Talk about a re-awakening of my childhood. Came here in September, and I hadn't been out on a boat since I was a little kid (my parents owned one and we went all the time). I'm not gonna lie... I started tearing up as soon as we hit this part of the Colorado River. This lake is here as a result of damming. It's vast, beautiful, glassy, and when we went, totally empty. We pretty much had the whole thing to ourselves. Proved to be a great opportunity for me to learn how to water skii! Tons of space to just screw around with your boat, or to just park, relax, and enjoy some lunch on the lake. It doesn't get any better than this!! Love this place! We launch from princess cove to avoid crowds and lines, lots of wildlife and fun, water is crystal clear and refreshing, also you pay for a 7 day pass! How awesome is that? Seems like endless miles of boating, lots of cool coves and beaches.. this is a great alternative to Havasu or Laughlin- love it read more

I love going to the beach area for a BBQ on the weekends. The water is like soaking in a warm bath. There is a motel style building near by where you can rent a room for the day to get out of the heat a bit or for an overnight stay. Usually pretty high traffic from spring to fall. Less Tran an hour drive from Henderson. National Parks pass required. read more

As you may have read regarding my last review, I came here in mid-September after rental rates had dropped and my friends could gather for a weekend of festivities on Lake Mohave. I found the lake to be quite massive and with plenty of carp and catfish, especially near the southern dam. I think this place is relatively clean, and with the proper equipment - life vest - and proper safety techniques everyone will have fun on the water. Make sure to clear your boat of all mussels and not to cause too much wake when near others. read more

Wonderful! This place is a great stop during the summer. If you want to park your boat somewhere good, be prepared to come extra early otherwise you won't find many available spots. Or those that are available will be fairly rocky or mossy. It's quite beautiful here and is well worth the trip out for a nice weekend out in the sun. People are quite friendly here and I certainly enjoyed the lake! It's much nicer and relaxing than a trip to the beach in California. read more

I love this lake, been going here since I was 8 years old. Water is pretty clean, surprising for the amount of people that go out on it. There are multiple beaches and coves that you can scope out and plant your flag for the day. A lot of room out on the lake, don't have near calls like you see on small lakes and rivers. Lake is locate close to Laughlin where you can stay in hotels and gamble, walk the river, listen to bands. A whole lot of fun. My negative are the park rangers. Complete jerks, have extreme power trips, I would rather deal with regular police officers. Avoid them at all costs or youll be walking away with a min of 150 dollars fine. Fishing is great up Damn, but I have seen people catch fish all over. If your patiently sitting and relaxing on shore you can see some pretty huge catfish swim by. Also Blue gill are all over the place! read more

Overcrowded. People get worse every year. Underage children speeding thru wake zones on pwcs as their oblivious parents sit in a drunken stupor, amongst the garbage they intend to leave on the beach. Launch docks unusable as they are taken over by boats that sit there for 30-45 minutes waiting on their passengers to arrive. Be sure and take multiple selfies before loading, whats 10 more minutes when you've hogged the dock for close to an hour already? Boat owners have no clue on how to load their boats! Take 3,4,5 sometimes 6 "men" to retrieve a boat from the water, no less than 4 tries, to get the boat centered on a trailer?!! Loading takes anywhere from 20-40 minutes; considering most trailers are self centering, if parked at proper depth. Perhaps people should be less self centered and realized that their trailers are? Be sure and continue to block the ramp while wiping down the boat and spraying Ducky on it. There are 2 areas provided for said task, but the launch ramp is a better place, the 50 or more people in line can continue to wait. There's not a beach to be found anywhere. Inconsiderate trash "claim" a beach the entire weekend by leaving cheap chairs on the beach. Try that at favorite beach spot in Cali! Nothing will be there next day, yet posted signs about leaving property unattended overnight are ignored and complaints about abandoned property being "stolen"? I think the rates need to be raised to $100 per person per year, or maybe $20 per person/per day? 1. A much larger patrol force is needed, perhaps to PATROL the lake, not just smugly hand out "expired" fire extinguisher fines. 2. "Music" shouldn't be audible from more than 20' from a site. We get it= You like crappy music and are so self absorbed that you must be the center of attention. 3. Trash fines should be steep, and costly. 4. DUI enforcement relentless. 5. Ban fedoras from the lake. How old is that "Pontoon" song anyway?!! Keep in mind that the very ones trashing this lake are the very ones who trashed their own. Mohave needs strict speed limits, crowd limits, huge wakeless zones, multiple no boat zones.. so that it's just as awful as Elsinore, Perris, Silverwood, or any SoCal swamp. Or just ban gas powered boats altogether, like Tahoe?! read more

Water was chilly probably 74 degrees, but felt good considering how hot it was outside. Was trying to take a dump and heard snakes in the bushes. Lake Mohave made the launch and recovering my boat very easy. A little disappointed Lake Mohave does have mussels and doesn't check when you enter the park. Parking was a little pricey. $20 for 3 days. It's nice that they give out trash bags in case you have to take a dump on the boat. It is a little annoying that they were doing construction on a Monday in July. Especially since there was lots of guys kicking back instead of working. Overall best lake to go to when in Laughlin. read more

We love this lake. Clear and clean. Not crowded and dirty like Havasu. Cheap hotels and food close by. Casinos and music for some night time fun. We love it so much we moved to bullhead. Met great friends and having the time of our lives. read more

First time here. Quiet, clean and not crowded like Havasu can be. This place has a store, launch ramp, hotel, restaurant and docks for rentals and residents. The coves in the area have plenty of space to beach your boat and set up camp and the water is nice. Was super hot when we went and constantly breezy but we stayed in the water. Didn't visit the store, hotel or restaurant this time. read more

Great Lake that we have been coming to for years. We always have a great time while we are there. Warm water that feels great compared to the warm weather. Only complaint is that there should be more bathrooms in case someone has to take a big dump. Other than that minor problem, a great time. read more
