When I walked in the door of the cabin we rented for a few nights on Parlin Pond, I was blown away! These cabins are so unbelievably nice! It's easy to forget your in the Northwoods of Maine! They even had high-speed WiFi available along with satellite TV broadcast on a giant flat-screen!! I was expecting to be roughing it when my Dad suggested this trip. The entire property was pristine! The staff was extremely courteous and immediately made me feel like we were old friends. I came up here with my Dad and partner to a little fishing and a little relaxing. We succeed at both. This might be the most relaxing place on Earth...in my opinion!

The lodge is great! We are a family of 6. There is plenty of room for everyone and a good lichen with gas stove! The grocery store in Jackman has just about everything that we needed to cook. The lake is beautiful! The children had a great time with other families at the site! We will come back again.

Fantastic place to vacation. Peaceful and yet there's lots to do! We come about once a year. Staying here is the best sleep I get all year. We've been here to visit many times: seeing friends, family reunions and a wedding!! Lots of outdoor activities around as well. Highly recommend! A+++ read more

We were thrilled to stay here! This was a last minute decision and it was a perfect blessing! The cabins were spotless, roomy and had the exact log cabin feel and look. The cabins faced the lake which was breath taking in the morning! It is directly in front of the cabins, so even a morning coffee or a night cap is divine! They have fire pits set up, one with Adirondack chairs and another with a pergola of swings around it overlooking the lake. Kayaks and paddle boats are also free to use. There was a boat also that you can take out but the lake was low so we didn't chance it! Kitchen is beautiful and beds are really comfy! There is NO AIR CONDITIONERS. NO FANS. So if you get hot, have hot flashes or sweat like a pig at night, you can bring a fan or jump in the lake to cool off. We opened windows but still was warm inside. As far as supplies, Skowhegan is an hour away, go there for groceries from a name brand business, Walmart, Hannafords. If you have been to NH, (White Mts area), you will not find the cute little popular breakfast nooks here like you do there even in Jackman (the next town over). You will need to head back toward Skowhegan but only abt 10 mins from the cabins. This place is called The Hawks Nest, see my review! We visited Moxie Falls which is an ideal trip. it takes abt 15 mins to get there from the cabins. WELL WORTH IT! We also rented ATV's and went out on the trails. You can white water raft but not sure which months that includes. We went in Sept and they were still rafting! There are plenty of snow mobile trails as well and scenic places that are amazing! This place is in the WOODS! Expect to travel for miles for quick snacks or drinks, no big gas stations like multiple gas pumps, but there are some mom and pop places, no big grocery stores, just plain woods! There are a few restaurants that looked ok. The Hawks Nest was the best looking, cleanest place that we saw. Mama Bears is in Jackman and we were referred to eat there but after driving by, we felt we should go the other direction. it was quite small and not so attractive. Liz was wonderful and answered every question we had before during our stay. We will be back there and this time bringing all 5 kids! We cant wait! read more

The cabins exceeded expectations. Built in a place people have vacationed for 100 years, they were warm, with a nice fireplace and satellite TV. They were well furnished, with a front porch and grill; achieving the right mix of wilderness and amenity. The star attraction is the lake and it is beautiful. We caught trout and perch, roasted marshmallows at night, hiked the local mountain and waterfall, saw a moose, and generally had a great family summer vacation. The office was rarely staffed when we were there, but it didn't matter, the caretaker for the property was always around, friendly and helpful, and the owner introduced himself on the first day. Some of the coordination around things to do looks to be in progress (ATV's, rafting), third party providers are available but coordination would be helpful, especially in terms of where one can explore without wandering on private property. Overall, I was a little hesitant to write this review, as I don't too many people finding out about this place. I don't want a lot of competition in booking a Lake Parlin cabin on my next trip into the Maine wilderness. read more

I just had the most amazing wedding at Lake Parlin and couldn't recommend it enough! We rented the whole place from Thursday-Monday and had 43 of our closest friends and family stay on site. The grounds were beautifully maintained, there were so many canoes and kayaks for everyone to enjoy, the cabins were super clean and the owners and care taker were so helpful. It was the summer camp wedding of my dreams! We can't wait to come up in the winter and snow mobile! read more

The Perfect Maine get away. The log cabins are absolutely stunning and waking up to the lake on your front porch makes this spot unparalleled. The management team is awesome, kayaks and canoes for guests to use at will. Fire wood supplied and the fire pits are free game. Certainly will be making this a routine summer get away spot. read more

Great location right on the snowmobile trails. I stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious. My snowmobile had some trouble and even though the bar / restaurant closes early on Sundays, the owner who was extremely friendly and kind let me stay in a room and wait for a couple hours for my ride. I absolutely recommend this place if you are in the area. read more
