I could have easily written this review in 2024, but let's start off the new year with a beery bang by saying how Great Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage truly is. I've been to this local beer spot many times now and I always walk out happy (and hoppy...bad joke). Enter into LRB and you'll find your standard run-of-the-mill beverage store, though I'll give them some credit because their space is clean, well-lit/heated, and nicely-sized with items more spread out making things easy to find. You'll notice plenty of non-alcoholic options as well, but the real winners come from the brews you can choose. Heading towards the back, you'll usually find a decently-sized area of seasonal selections. I have a pic on here from their October beer setup which was fantastic in choices. They even carried a gluten free pumpkin beer that my friend enjoys which is great for those that can't partake in the normal gluten-filled brewskies. Once at/in the refrigerated area is where you'll really find the gems of LR Bev. To the right, they have plenty of your basic beer options cold and ready to go, but to the left, there is a full wall of local and highly touted brewery selections. This includes beers from Sand City, DUBCo, Evil Twin, Other Half, Abomination, and even some Tree House can be spotted here (if you're lucky to catch it). This variety is outstanding and shows that LRB knows what the craft beer scene is all about. Lastly, I just want to mention that the staff at Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage always seem polite and friendly. You can get a mixed bag of people depending on the beverage store you go to, but here I consistently feel welcomed. Bonus is their bottle return is pretty generous in that they tend to take almost any bottle/can of beer. Gotta love that so you can get that little bit of change back in your pocket...before using it to buy more beer, of course. Overall, Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage is the real deal for beer, at least in this area. There's nothing crazy going on here in space, but there is a decent size with plenty of good brews to choose (exotic and not) along with some friendly folks behind the counter. I'm glad to start off 2025 with reviewing this beverage spot and the five stars I'll happily hand out to them. Cheers! read more

Keeping this short and sweet. GREAT selection and they have a bunch of stuff from my fav Queens breweries. They are constantly switching stuff out, and they staff there was super helpful! Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage has done a good job with their new location. The beer distributor offers a decent selection, and while it may not be the biggest around, you'll likely find what you need. The new spot is clean, bright, and welcoming--which is a nice upgrade. They still take returns, and the service remains top-notch. I do miss the old location for its familiarity, but this is a pretty good replacement overall. read more

They got my previous review removed, which just proves the lengths to which they'll go to silent dissent and continue their illegal practice of distributing out-of-market beer without permission. Luckily, I'm persistent enough to repost, and will continue to do so every single day if I need to. I'll reiterate that Management and staff have been rude, aggressive, and insulting to myself, and other patrons that I know. Their selection is "impressive" in the sense that they've got a lot of high-profile breweries on hand, but that's only the case because they unlawfully carry items despite breweries asking them not to. There are too many other good places to buy beer in the area that are run ethically and honestly to give money to this dreadful place. read more

4.5 stars for the beer distributor!!! I remember coming here as a kid and getting ice and my dad getting beers and sodas for family BBQs. I remember always being really cold in here too when I was a kid. Well.. time's a changing and I like some beer! I did find out though that they sell my beer! Yes. They sell my beer!!! The hunt is over! They sell the Lindeman's Framboise! Oh my yes. This is DEE-liscious. Probably thee best beer... EVER! The other cool thing is they have a ton and I mean a ton of beer to appeal to anyone's taste buds. They also have at least 15-20 taps with all local beers (including I think Spider Bite, Blue Point, Long Ireland, & Blind Bat). Pretty damn cool if you ask me. I'm almost certain they have hard to find and craft beers. Along with your usual Bud Lights & Coronas. Most of the guys I've dealt with are pretty friendly. There's always one guy in there behind the counter always asking me if I'm picking up more of my Framboise beer. So it's nice and friendly and less intimidating when you're the minority in the beer distributor. Yes guys you are the majority. We females I think are the minority. Would I recommend this beer distributor?! Hell yes. So come here and get some beers! Just don't drink all the Lindeman's Framboise cause I need some more! read more

Somewhere it is time for beer. And sometime you will want beer. And if you are in Long Island this is the place to go and buy beer. I've driven past this beer distributor forever and not popped in. And for that I am a complete idiot. They offer a mind boggling array of beer. Invest in a growler as the menu options are oh so tantalizing. Prices are low but the smarts are with the tall guy. So wear wedges if you're short. (Seriously, he's that tall.) I was given a guided tour of porters. Tall guy was incredibly apologetic that the current supply was in short demand as it was summer. This place is my go to place for beer. My friends have become big fans as well. Great selection of craft beer. All the usual stuff plus a lot more. They have some beers that are usually only available at the brewery, like Other Half, Tree House and Trillium. And they are very reasonably priced. A dollar or so more than what they charge at the brewery. I've been to those breweries, but would rather go here and pay a little extra and save myself a trip to Brooklyn or Massachusetts. Staff are all cool and knowledgeable. Tell them what you like and they will definitely steer you in the right direction. read more

I really enjoy this beer distributor. Been coming here for years it is the gas station next to Little Vincents. The place is tremendous and there are all these nooks where you feel as if you are discovering rare beers. True sometimes you discover something that is older than dirt and tastes it. The counter people are very nice and now their growler bar is unmatched. They have very good prices. They also often have specials where you get a free glass or something. Make sure you walk into the fridge because they have some stuff in there like mini kegs of German lagers. read more

Great selection and low prices make this my Friday go-to stop on the way home from work. They are located conveniently within minutes of the LIE in Ronkonkoma, right next door to Little Vincent's (Best Pizza on the Island). The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They love to talk beer, especially craft beer, both foreign and local. Look for the tall guy, he knows his stuff. The new 21 tap system is ridiculous! This place has become my "go to" beer distributer. I drive 10 minutes out of my way to go here, past the beer distributer around the corner from my house in Holbrook (who have about the same selection as the local supermarket). Selection is great whether you're looking for a six pack or a growler, they have a wide variety of beer. It's very rare that they don't have what I'm looking for. "Wonderful, Friendly staff." A very large selection of beers many local beers are on tap for growlers. Top-notch bevy. I stop here quite often and the beer selection kicks some serious ass. It is quite vast and I often wander aimlessly just looking over the wide range and variety of suds. While I've been to other solid bevy's on the island... this one definitely qualifies as one of my go to bevys.
