One of the trails we took was the overlook trail where there is a raised platform where you can see one of the lakes and at that time there were tons of birds on the water. They improved one part of the shore with rocks and sand to allow for easy access into the water. I wouldn't call it a beach exactly, but there weren't any brushy, snakey weeds to intimidate me. We were on one the smaller loops. Was a lot quieter than the other ones LOL the swim area was full of boats by the afternoon. The trails are marked, when you drive in and go toward the swim area, you'll see the brown sign at the entrance along the right. We drove around and checked out all the sites, they have quite a few that can accommodate large RVs along with extra parking for a boat. If you pull up the satellite view on Recreation.gov you'll be able to view the spot numbers and layout that way. Perfect for sunset pictures! Seems a lot cleaner than past pictures. Read online that is was part of the push of why they stopped allowing day passes. COEs on the lake are only for camping reservations, which is great bc it was pretty busy, cam only imagine how crowded it would be if it was open to public as well.

There was a couple having wedding photos, and there was an elderly man taking pictures, and I just really liked how serene it was. There is a beautiful overlook, and the grounds themselves are very well maintained. Only $5 per person for admission and leashed dogs are welcome. The Visitor Center has a few displays of relics that you won't want to miss! I do recommend wearing good shoes and carrying water if you are planning to walk down to the brewery. After paying a small fee to enter, we parked. The visitor's center has a small museum where you can learn all about the history of the park. It's a good way to kick things off. From there, you can hike around the park. Beyond getting a workout, you come across historical markers and other goodies along the way. Brewery ruins, a home, a statue, and more. You'll learn even more through this experience. I love these types of hikes: where you simultaneously learn and get a workout in.

This park is massive we didn't even get a chance to explore all they offered…read more We parked near Flying Horses Carousal which is located next to the large Finke pavilion that has a huge fan in the center while already providing a great place for shade to escape the humid summer temp. There were several park structures near the pavilion, from swings, slides, spider web jungle gyms. There were two buildings near that I believe you could rent out for parties. Bathrooms are a stones throw and were air conditioned and clean. We could see the skate park from where we were along with additional play areas, across the street you can see the splash pad. There is "story walk" trail you can take that leads to or from the Library situated at the top of the hill. Definitely take a stop at the carousal if it's open it's only a dollar a person to ride, and really quite a splendor to oh and ah over. Tons of shade, great place for a picnic, and to get some energy out. Can't wait to visit again with my family.
