My wife and I have been training our puppy with Kim since November. Our dogs name is Redford and he is currently a 6 month old Goldendoodle. We were really excited to get our first puppy but we did not realize all the headaches that were to come. A month or so in, I was at Pet Pros in Lake Stevens buying a muzzle for my puppy because he would not stop biting my wife. The clerk suggested that rather than use the muzzle begin working with a trainer. She handed me Kim's card. Kim has been a great trainer. The constant nipping has become a thing of the past. Redford knows over a dozen commands. Whether he listens or not is something we are still working on :-), but he is only 6 months old. Incredible! We have been working with Kim at Lake Stevens K9 Academy since 2021. We enrolled our energetic Belgian Tervuren in a few puppy classes and he eventually completed his Canine Good Citizen test. It was a great way for him to be socialized and learn good manners. The classes were very low key and practical. We have continued to work with Kim and her team with dog boarding during our vacations and occasionally home drop ins when we have to work long hours. There's no one else we trust more! Attended a dog obedience class which ended up being walking in a circles. There was no instruction provided. Instructor laughed when dogs misbehaved and didn't help owners with training. Only benefit was to get my dog used to being around other dogs. For real training go elsewhere. read more

Kim is a wonderful, positive trainer. We adopted Gracie as adult. She is an active girl but was terrible on a leash, especially when we would see other dogs. After a couple of private lessons, I gained enough confidence to take her to group lessons. I wasn't sure how Gracie would do, and she LOVED it. We took Basic, then Advanced, and finally worked up to earning her Canine Good Citizen. I am so thrilled. She went from going nuts on a leash to being a polite girl. I have a 6 month old Golden Retriever & have so far taken Kim's initial training class & am so happy with the results. My very active pup has really learned how to follow instructions, walk properly on a leash & is so good when distracted by other dogs now. I would really suggest her classes for any age dog. My pup and I have both learned so much about teaching proper dog manners too. I also bring him to her doggie day care so he can socialize with other dogs. This is a great idea as there are no other dogs in my home. He has really learned how to play well with multiple types of dogs, large, small ,young ,old & different temperaments. This lady has to be the rudest owner I have ever dealt with on a personal level. After 2 months of waiting on her end to send me my dog's shot records(which she had promised that night through text that she would mail since she had forgotten to include it with my dog's belongings after I had picked her up from Kim's place) I finally was in contact with her again, today, and she was so disrespectful. So I never got my dog's shot records in the mail. I inquired over 3 times with her since Nov. She kept saying she couldn't remember if she did...First off she accused me of calling her a liar which I never did. I was just calmly speaking to her about the matter over the phone. I listened to her side but every time I would start to speak she would talk over me continually raising her voice and cutting me off(so unprofessional). After I asked her still calmly to let me finish speaking she yelled no! And that she would not take this from me(so sensitive because I honestly was not "giving her anything") then as I spoke my next words she hung up on me mid sentence. The instructor, Kim, appears favorable to smaller breeds of dogs. If you have a bigger dog such as a Shepherd, Rott, Pitt, or Mastiff, you will run into difficulties with this instructor. Kim doesn't educate others in regards to different breeds of dogs and personality types. Very uneducated instructor. Not licensed either. Don't waste your time and money when you can get valuable classes from a licensed instructor who educates properly and is open to all breeds of dogs. read more

Kim is a great trainer! I've done a private session as well as her basic and advanced obedience classes. I have a hyper 2 year old German Shepherd and Kim gave us lots of tips and homework to work on. We now have a well behaved, well mannered dog! With her training he was able to test and pass for the AKC Canine Good Citizen. Some other classes we enrolled in were hesitant to work with us solely based on the breed of my dog. We recently had a training session with Kim for our 14 month old Rottweiler. During the lesson we worked on walking nicely on the leash, and approaching another dog politely.
