Re: the guy whose dog was sent home for all-night barking on Christmas: I've known Lucky Dog's owners for years, and if they sent your dog home it was for a very good reason. First, it's located just a few miles from where I live in Monroe/Snohomish. Second their charge to house 2 dogs was far more reasonable than any other places in the area. Lastly, Melissa was responsive to all my calls and emails. Their business is there home so someone is there pretty much all the time. They separate the big dogs from the little ones and everyone has their own place. Plenty of room in the backyard to run and play and they have a pool. I highly recommend Lucky Dog Resort.

Sophie is all that and more. So, to leave her someplace was so scary... WORRY NOT! MYONLY BOARDING KENNEL is now my ONLY boarding place for Sophie! WHAT I LOVE... Sophie seemed to relax the moment she met the people there. I felt okay (and that is saying A LOT) leaving her there. She was happy (not nervous, not scared, not bolting) when we came to pick her up. She had not lost weight or hair while we were gone. She was perfectly happy, how cool is that? Did I mention they bathed and groomed Sophie (a German Sheppard)? "She hasn't ever looked as good as when they groomed her!" Those are my husband's words, and I couldn't agree more! We didn't think much of it. Stuff happens. 2nd was the worst ear infection I have ever seen. Clearly bloody outside and inside his ear. He was crazy scratching. Neither of these visits did we get a call from them letting us know so we could take action earlier. Our dog was clearly not walked or looked after on either of these visits. Unfortunately we will not be returning, and I recommend that you try another place first.

My smaller dog had a curvature in his back indicating he had been kept in a crate or kennel that was too small for him, according to my vet. My larger dog had a raging infection, temp of 104 (101 is normal), very high white blood cell count, would not eat...He had to be put in antibiotics. I don't know what happened to my dogs at this place, but it was not good. I would actually say I would give them no stars. My larger dog was so bad that we were talking about euthanasia.

I really like how they invite you out to meet your dog beforehand to ensure it will be a good fit. Mark also gave us a tour of the entire facility--he was great to speak and schedule with. The rest of the staff is very friendly and you can tell they are passionate about caring for the pups. They take any instructions you leave them seriously (such as feeding instructions, specific care, etc). The property is absolutely beautiful and you can tell the design was very intentional and made by someone who loves dogs. Every time we pick up Nugget she acts as if she doesn't even recognize us! She has so much fun and I love getting to see her photos of her time here--she always looks so happy and even makes a couple of new friends. This really is a special boarding facility; it is unlike anything you'll find anywhere else and it is so worth the drive. You really have to see it to see just how impressive the property is. P.S.: if you have a very anxious dog with severe separation anxiety, it's probably best you don't leave them at ANY boarding facility. Consider an in-home pet sitter instead.
