Both of my parents are buried here. My father in 2006 and my mother most recently. The once-…read morebeautiful facility is no more. And that hurts my already grieving heart more. From a funeral perspective, the staff were the gracious and gentle presence a family needs in their dark hours. The staff was attentive, ever present and accommodating to our needs. My only criticism is the failure to get mom's obituary to the local BND, despite our providing it more than 48 hours before her visitation. As the only daily paper in the metro East area, I find that unforgivable. Other papers were not published until after her internment, resulting in many people not knowing she passed until it was too late to pay their respects. I'd also suggest that the dependency on the Dignity funeral planner app not be the focal point of the meeting with the family to finalize arrangements. While I appreciate the need for a consistent process, hovering around a big screen to click-through the available options is akin to finalizing the order of a new car and diminishes the dignity of the need to finalize such details. And - be warned - the upsell on adjacent plots is both ill-timed AND inappropriate. The worst - and most sustained - grievance, however is the overall disrepair and neglected appearance of the facility and grounds. Their entrance sign needs to be repaired, as letters are all sun-worn, faded and peeling off. The landscaping - even around the main building entrance - is overgrown with weeds, eroded beds and overgrown plantings. I guess the old "make a good first impression" advice is lost on them. The grounds are deplorable. Headstones are sinking, overgrown with weeds and, at least for my parents' stone, suffering from the appearance it has been hit a few too many times by a lawn mower. The planting bed immediately in front of their plot has dead plantings and appears to not have been mulched for years. That is WHOLLY UNACCEPTABLE. Even after pointing it out to the staff, no attempt was made to even pull a few weeds and toss down some mulch to make the graveside service slightly more acceptable. The preparation for the internment left a large hole that more than one family member lost their footing against and slipped against Mom's casket as they paid final respects. I am thankful no one was injured and that the unthinkable was prevented. I pray staff pay attention to this post and make a sincere effort to up their game in maintaining the type of final resting place my parents invested in. Their memory deserves much, much better than this.

I cannot say enough about using this company. My father passed away and am so glad I found them…read more They were caring and so helpful going well above and beyond. It was surprising how insensitive other places were when I called them inquiring about services. I can honestly say they made this process so much easier for me. I haven't even gotten to talk about the price!! So much less expensive than others and they didn't nickel a dime me either. My father was a veteran and they coordinated everything for me at no extra charge while other companies wanted an additional fee. They responded quickly my questions and even managed to get me prayer cards that I forgot all about the day of! I've referred them to others and would highly recommend them.

To my surprise, I was able to reach someone at Metro and was able to set up services quickly. They were very compassionate, understanding, and patient. I was able to reach someone on demand and assisted me with every step. One may think that all mortuary companies are the same. I can assure you not, as when I called another mortuary company the receptionist was very rude and disrespectful. That was not the case with MetroEast. They made the process very easy that alleviated some of the stress I felt losing my mother. Thank you, Metro. I will highly recommend this company.
